Join this yoga week to dive into the colorful magic of Marrakech. In Morocco, you will enjoy the wonderful climate and the beautiful sandy beach of Essaouira. This place will leave lasting impressions with the tour, wonderful beautiful landscapes, luxurious oriental accommodations, and plenty of time to relax. You can spend an unforgettable New Year's Eve with traditional Moroccan program with a magnificent gala dinner waiting for you.
Throughout the retreat, you will exclusively stay in very beautiful oriental hotels with pool and gardens.
During days two to seven, there will be daily yoga practice, meditation, and breathing exercises in the morning and evening. There would be ten yoga sessions in total for this retreat.
Marrakesh, "the Pearl of the South," is located in a plain north of the High Atlas, and its old town was established in 1985 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The main attraction is the Djemna el Fna, a colorful bustle with storytellers, snake charmers, and jugglers. On the famous souks, artisans of all kinds, spices, leather goods, linen, decorations, lamps, jewelry, and carpets.
Independent transfer to the hotel. The airport is located in the middle of the city, many taxis are waiting on site. If you wish, Yogitrip can also organize a transfer.
When you arrive, everyone will have the time to get to know each other and relax. This will be followed by dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast, together with the guide, you will visit the Koutoubia Mosque, then walk through the old town and visit the Bahia Palace. Next, you will walk through the narrow streets of the medina to the Saadian tombs. Lunch at the central square. In the afternoon, there will be time for shopping at the bazaar or relaxation at the hotel.
In the morning, you will visit the pavilion in the Menara Gardens. Afterwards, the group will take a taxi to the Majorelle Garden of Yves Saint Laurent. Lunch in Gueliz (new town). In the afternoon, there will again be time to relax.
After breakfast and the yoga class, the group will drive to Essaouira, which will take about two hours. The port city with its stunning white sand beach, many small galleries, an internationally recognized music scene, and a significant fishing port, attracts many young people from all over the world. In the winter months, it is a perfect place to learn how to surf. There are very inviting cozy cafe houses and cool shops pair well with the pleasant climate. There is a magnificent view from an old Portuguese fortress. Unlike Marrakech, here all the houses are white.
The 18th century medina of Essaouira, with two gates, was included in 2001 in the UNESCO list of World Heritage. In the fishing port, vessels are still made in the traditional manner of wood, nets are mended and fishing lines fitted with baits. The group will arrive at noon at the hotel where everyone will have lunch in the city center. In the afternoon, there will be some free time for a walk on the beach or at the bazaar.
A walk through the arcades of the impressive old town, gives a nice authentic overview. You will visit galleries, the fishing harbor, and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. For lunch, you will have fresh fish or traditional dishes of the country. In the afternoon, you are free to relax in one of the nice beach bars. You can also arrange a surf lesson upon request.
In the morning, you will have a beach walk. In the afternoon, there will be time for a stroll through the city, relaxation on the terrace, or the gorgeous sandy beach.
After breakfast and the last yoga session, the group will drive back to Marrakech. In the afternoon, there will be free time for shopping or sun bathing and relaxation at the hotel.

Marion is a Hatha yoga teacher with 30 years of teaching practice in different forms of movement. She imparts her extensive professional knowledge with love and humor. Regular trainings in Anusara yoga, Power yoga, Prana flow, Vinyasa yoga, yoga therapy, hormone yoga, Luna yoga, Jivamukti yoga, and Asthanga yoga inspire her varied classes. She used to be a full-time freelance artist and set decorator at a theater until she discovered the magic of the desert in Morocco in 2009. Since then, she is living in a fishing village in the south of Agadir.
This retreat will take place in Marrakesh and Essaouira, Morocco. Marrakech has stood for close to a thousand years, a city of history and culture. One of the most evocative places in the world, just the name conjures up images of this cultural melting pot - sandstone buildings, dusty streets, vibrant markets, and towering minarets against deep blue skies immediately spring to mind. Essaouira is the port city with its stunning white sand beach, many small galleries, an internationally recognized music scene, and a significant fishing port. It attracts many young people from all over the world. In the winter months, it is a perfect place to learn how to surf.
For the retreat, breakfast and dinner are included and will be served in the respective hotel. You will have lunch in very nice traditional restaurants while on the road. The food in Morocco is very varied and good. There is a strong French influence, remaining from the colonial era. Fresh fruits and vegetables of local farms are available in the local markets.
The traditional dish is tajine, a dish cooked in a clay pot over the fire, vegetarian if desired, with lamb, chicken, fish or beef, mixed with vegetables, dried fruits, pickled lemons and olives and wonderful spices. Patisserie with almonds, lemons, dates, and dessert. The national drink is the "thé à la menthe," a green tea with mint leaves and fresh sugar.

In any location you will go to in this retreat, you will have time to relax by the pool or to visit the city surroundings.
