Recharge yourself in a safe environment far away from home together with women on a similar journey. A place where you can be totally yourself and enjoy things the way you like it. Nothing is needed, everything is allowed. In the case of tiredness, fears, or insecurities, you will be supported to cope better. Yogini Rosa always welcomes a woman who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. No matter when; recently or many years ago.

The estate is filled with exotic plants, palm trees, and flowers in a variety of colors and with lovely scents. You can pick ripe fruits straight from the trees and there is always an empty hammock waiting for you in one of the many sheltered places on the beautiful finca. It is lovely to wander around the estate or go outside the gate to enjoy the beauty of the valley.
Yogini Rosa retreats are designed for women who are confronted with breast cancer. It is a non-profit organization which aims to inspire cancer patients and survivors to regain the strength they should have had despite their illness. During this seven-day retreat, Yogini Rosa offers activities, workshops, and treatments specially designed to help cope with the effects of the disease, both for the body and mind.
Spending time with other women on the same journey can bring a different understanding, strength, and energy. It can help in the process of dealing with breast cancer.
The retreat is organized by an expert team of women and is supported by volunteers who may have experienced the effects of the disease and the treatment themselves. It supports cancer-diagnosed women by organizing an eight-day yoga retreat, together with other sisters (as they call them), while being guided by a professional team.
Yoga, mindfulness, and workshops are the primary purpose of the retreat. This is the perfect way to cope with the effects of the disease, for meditating gives the right and sufficient care for both mind and body and even the soul of the participant.
Mixture of various healing yoga styles suited for yoginis of all levels will be offered. Yoga brings you relaxation and stimulates the self-healing abilities of the body. Yoga improves your fitness level, concentration, and breathing. You will start regaining confidence in your body and its abilities. It will also help support and release the physical and mental effects of the treatments.
Each day will begin with a group meditation, for this helps you find greater self-understanding, peace, and balance. Also, this is to start each day right by feeling good.
Because mind comes over matter. Fighting against the disease and experiencing treatments as well as recovering can drain energy. But by living in the moment and being aware of the now, you will start to learn to deal with a new life, leaving all these uncertainties, tiredness, and negativities behind. Mindfulness will let you see things as they are and to trust your body once more.
Sharing thoughts and voices of women who are on the same page alleviates the pain and takes away the insecurities inside. Understanding can give energy and strength and thus can give hope to start fresh again.
The price of the retreat includes picnic lunch at the moon landscape of Pico del Teide, a descent hike down the Masca gorge, and a boat trip to the port, if weather permits.
Monique Castiglione is the founder of Yogini Rosa Foundation. She intended to do Yogini Rosa to strengthen women who have had undergone cancer, having to know to feeling of that too. She wish these women to find themselves again, to find out who they really are, rather than "being the woman with breast cancer" and accept the effects of the disease.
