Join Yogi Dani for an unforgettable experience in the beautiful and culturally rich country of Peru. While attending this yoga retreat, you will be visiting three major attractions while visiting the country and staying in two different accommodations. You will begin the week on a farm in the Sacred Valley and stay here before and after a day trip via train to hike Machu Picchu. You will close the week off with three nights in the upbeat and colorful city of Cusco.
Originally opened in 1925 by the name of Hotel Santa Rosa, El Albergue is a historic and romantic lodge located in the Ollantaytambo train station little more than an hour away from Machu Picchu and the city of Cusco.
With only 16 rooms, special detail is given to each and every one, resulting in an elegantly rustic style. Beautiful gardens visited by hummingbirds are engulfed by the aroma of fuchsia, passion flower, as well as peach and avocado trees which all adorn the early 20th-century lodge. Step outside and catch the train to the spectacular ruins of Machu Picchu.
While you are at El Albergue, you may spend your days visiting the Inca and Pre-Inca archeological sites of Ollantaytambo, Pisaq, and Moray, river rafting, mountain biking, and enjoying the beauty and culture of the Andes.
Located only three blocks from the Plaza de Armas in the city of Cusco, El Balcon has a commanding view of the entire city, cathedrals, churches, mountains, and the Ausangate glacier. El Balcon is a renovated colonial Casona that dates back to the 1630s built atop the preceding Inca terraces. Inca stonework and colonial balustrades mesh harmoniously around terraced gardens creating an atmosphere that is beautiful, historic, and authentically Peruvian.
Some of the amenities and services include free airport transportation, complimentary hot breakfast and buffet, laundry, and free yoga classes. El Balcon is happy to help with any travel arrangements so that their guests can experience the best that Cusco and the Sacred Valley have to offer. At El Balcon, they strive to provide their guests with the highest level of hospitality so that they have all they need to feel comfortable at El Balcon's family establishment.
Explore yourself as you discover the people, the food, and the spectacular natural environment. Spend your mornings practicing yoga, discussing the chakras, enjoy a delicious a la carte breakfast, then set off for the day on an epic adventure.
Expect to immerse yourself into the sacred ceremonies of local shamans, enjoy making crafts with a local NGO, gather for a farm to table lunch, picnic and kayak on the lake, nourish yourself with fresh Peruvian cuisine, and of course hike one of the greatest natural wonders of the world.
As this is is a summer solstice retreat, you will honor the cycles of a new season through 108 sun salutations followed by an unforgettable ceremony and party to ignite your soul. Here is an opportunity for you to connect back with yourself and meet new friends who will share this magical experience with you. Come meet yourself and the world in a whole new way.
As your instructor, Dani will take you through a fun and challenging Vinyasa sequence in the morning, gather the troop for a fun daily excursion, and lead you through a Restorative practice by night. Dani will take you a journey back to yourself and into the world.
Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Kundalini Yoga)
Danielle began yoga as a way to exercise and cross train for her dance career. After she started to have a regular yoga practice, she realized it has a transformation effects, not only on the body, but on the mind and spirit. The challenging and empowering Power Vinyasa inspired her a new passion which led her to become a teacher. She received her 200 and 500-hour training at Sid Yoga Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She has been leading retreats since 2015 and teaches to inspire growth and union while delivering a challenging flow, leaving you feeling connected, open, and free.
Incas deemed this spot the belly button of the world. A visit to Cusco tumbles you back into the cosmic realm of ancient Andean culture - knocked down and fused with the colonial splendors of the Spanish conquest, only to be repackaged as a thriving tourist mecca. Yet, Cusco is only the gateway.
Beyond lies the Sacred Valley, an Andean countryside dotted with villages, high altitude hamlets, and ruins linked by trail and railway tracks to the continent's biggest draw, Machu Picchu.
Old ways are not forgotten here. Colorful textiles keep vivid the past as do the wild fiestas and carnivals where pagan tradition meets solemn Catholic ritual. A stunning landscape careens from Andean peaks to orchid-rich cloud forests and Amazon lowlands. Explore it on foot or by fat tire, rafting wild rivers, or simply braving the local buses to the remote and dust-worn corners of this far-reaching, culturally rich department.
Enjoy a delicious a la carte breakfast at both of the hotels. For lunch each day, expect to enjoy a picnic lunch while you're out on one of your many excursions. On Sunday of the retreat, enjoy an amazing farm to table lunch at the El Arbegue's farm. Dinner each night will be either at the hotel or out in town. Yogi Dani loves exploring the cuisine when they travel and wants to offer you an opportunity to wine and dine like the locals do.
Please book your flight to arrive at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. Please send Yogi Dani an inquiry. The airport is 2 hours from the hotel.
