After coming back from India, Gillian opened Steadfast and True Yoga in Nashville, Tennese, in August 2010. She wanted to create a studio and space that held tightly to values of right action and less distraction to create healthy reactions. Gillian wanted to create an extended family and she succeeded. Steadfast is constantly growing and evolving, but it has been and will continue to be an amazing journey for her.
Abby Tucker is a dedicated yoga student and teacher who is known for integrating the fullness of yoga practice - asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, mudra and mythology, into her classes for more than a decade. Abby’s classes offer precision biomechanics within a variety of contexts, including strength and stamina-building, slow empowered flow, or workshop-style depth.
Gina is the founder and director of the Colorado School of Yoga, with affiliate locations throughout the state. She has a deep and sincere passion for yoga education and empowering teachers to make their unique offerings far and wide. A Vinyasa Flow teacher, she feels it is essential for your yoga practice to feel less like busy work and more like a powerful, embodied celebration. She came to the mat from the office chair so she has a keen ability to really speak to the modern-day householder yogi.
German-born and raised, Alexa was a science and sports educator who turned to be a Hatha Vinyasa and Kundalini yoga teacher, author of The Clean Yogi, speaker, and coach. Alexa engages a wide audience globally with her relatable and encouraging approach to yoga and mindful, soulful living. Alexa believes in the refinement of movement, space, and stillness. Her mission is to inspire a passion for yoga in a way that is inclusive, inviting, and empowering.
Chelsey Korus’ teaching and movement philosophy come from her passion for life and her inspiring nature that allows her students to live their best life. As a perennial student herself, she approaches her life through the lens of constant learning and is able to share her wisdom to help other achieve their brightest and best futures. A notable yoga instructor based in Los Angeles, Chelsey infuses her classes with the movement knowledge she has gained through over a decade of alignment-based yoga asana immersion, classical ballet, capoeira, and daily acrobatic training.
Liya (Charan Kamal Kaur) creates a heart-filled, fun, and joyful way to calm the mind and align with one’s inner truth. She brings a special gift of laughter and humor to every class. In addition to yoga, Liya studied deep esoteric Kabbalah, including the sacred tree of life and dream work, in Los Piramidas Del Ka, a school in Guatemala. She is certified in both Hatha and Kundalini yoga and is a registered KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) instructor. She took her Level 1 and 2 training with Gurmukh and Gurushabd in India.
Adriana Rizzolo is a traditional yoga and meditation teacher, Kirtan leader, hair stylist, and facilitator of women's circles. Through her work supporting women to uncover and embody their soul voices. Adriana is a devoted student of Ram Dass and Bhakti yoga, and is of kashmir shaivism lineage. She studies and mentors with many amazing women such as Laura Amazzone and Mirabai Starr. Adriana's teaching and facilitation are known for its earthy, light-hearted, and fun approach. Her work comes from over 10 years of training in India and in New York.
Jess embraces letting the beauty you love be what you do! She first began teaching yoga in remote villages in Mongolia and was amazed at yoga’s universal ability to inspire and heal. She enjoys guiding her students toward a celebration of the heart, an awareness of the intuitive body, and a deep sense of belonging. She embodies the belief that until you give adequately to yourselves, shining light into your own souls, only then can you find the wealth of energy to give with true intention.
Lindsay Hilscher is an authorized level II Ashtanga yoga teacher. She teaches at Eddie Stern’s Brooklyn Yoga Club and also works privately with students who are working through injuries and health issues. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Lindsay moved to New York after earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from SUNY Purchase College. She has been practicing with Eddie since 2012 at AYNY. In 2015, Lindsay took her first trip to Mysore, India to study under Paramaguru R. Sharath Jois and was given her level II authorization in 2017.
Ashley Matthews is a Pilates instructor and co-founder of the elevate cooperative. Ashley specializes in movement re-education and has worked with the healthiest of clients looking for a fitness-oriented experience as well as clients dealing with chronic issues such as disc herniation, spondylolisthesis, osteoarthritis, Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, joint replacement and repair, scoliosis, spinal fusions, and more. When not at the studio, Ashley is studying at the Swedish Institute to become a licensed massage therapist and is expected to graduate in April 2018.
Anjuli is the founder of Embodied Resonance offering transformational retreats, integrated bodywork, and coaching that focus on opening the body to it’s highest potential. Her initiation into somatics started in 1999 with a dedicated yoga practice and since then has trained in Iyengar, Hatha, and Shadow Yoga as well as Contact Improvisation and Acro-yoga. She has studied both movement and healing arts intensively in India, Thailand, Hawaii, and Bali both giving her a well-rounded, non-dogmatic approach to her teaching.
Alok is the founder of Rock Water Healing Arts which focuses on wellness in all aspects of life. Since 2004, Alok has traveled extensively studying a variety of yoga styles including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Anusara, Shadow, Acroyoga, and Hatha. He then started his bodywork journey studying Thai Massage in Thailand. Alok has since done trainings in Acupressure, Shiatsu and Chi Nei Tsang techniques. With his dedication to the yogic arts and a degree in exercise physiology, Alok has a keen knowledge of the muscular and energetic systems of the body.

Location is amazing, glamping facilities were top notch and yoga on the deck outside was divine. Programming was loose enough that there was time to do things on my own. Shannon, the local rep, was very helpful prior to the retreat and on the ground in Moab.

This retreat far exceeded my expectations. The place and accommodations were beautiful. The food was off the charts delicious and creative and beautiful. The Yoga was a nice combination of earth philosophy and movement. The men and women who participated were varied and interesting and friendly.
Where to start?! The retreat far exceeded any expectations that I had. From the time I landed in Bali until it was time to leave the center, everything was completely taken care of and planned with precision. I loved the intimacy of how small our group was. The accommodations were stunningly beautiful. Having a gluten allergy was of no issue and I was completely taken care of and the food was so fresh, healthy, and delicious. Each of our excursions were exciting and interesting. From the cooking class to the sunrise hike and visiting sacred temples, I enjoyed it all! We were lucky to visit during the Balinese new year and the local festivities were so much fun! The locals were kind and welcoming. Daily yoga was such a treat and some days three practices! Alexa, our instructor, is a gifted teacher and brought some deep thought and insight into our practices. I couldn't have dreamed up a better trip! What a beautiful group of people that I left feeling as kindred spirits! I feel honored to have practiced with Alexa Nehter! What a gifted instructor. Such a calm and solid energy who made learning fun. I felt challenged in new things, yet capable of all our practices. I loved that we practiced two times daily and she even fit in a couple short practices/workshops in between. If only I had the same people cooking for me at home!!! Every meal was everything I could want! So fresh and healthy. I had zero stomach issues and the chefs were overly accommodating with my gluten allergy. There is nothing I would change. Leah was the most organized, the most in time, the most helpful. Add in nurturing and warm. She's the best!
Such a beautiful experience. I grew so much physically and spiritually over this week. Bali is a place I will carry with me for the rest of my life. The classes were informative, challenging and spiritual. I learned so much about my practice which I have brought back with me and started incorporating into my weekly routine. What would you change? No idea. I thought it was perfect. Food was always on time and amazing. Favorite Moments: Sunrise volcano hike followed buy a swim in the hot springs. Everything i wanted from a yoga retreat in Bali plus more! The yoga on the Bali retreat was exactly what I was looking for. Alexa switched up the classes enough to keep things interesting. She had a great balance of spiritual and physical components throughout the retreat. I would definitely take another retreat with her in the future. Our host was very organized, professional and fun! I would love to take another trip with Leah she took care of absolutely everything.
My sister and I attended this retreat together. It was a beautiful experience to be surrounded by so many interesting, lovely women. Claire, Naomi, Ashley, and Emily were fantastic. I felt so comfortable and cared for. The yoga space was so lovely and I really enjoyed Claire's instruction. I felt like the offerings were unique and deeply restorative, with a little challenge in the mornings. Naomi was also a fantastic assistant! Her adjustments made the experience even better for me.Favorite moments: Our circle sharing. Spending time with Claire and Naomi during the tarot card reading on our last night. Recognizing that although the other group participants varied in location, generation, etc.-we all have the same struggles and very similar needs. The retreat, overall, was humbling for me and deepened my compassion for my sisters all over the world. I hope to have many more experiences like the one you created.
The total experience was nothing like I imagined. I feel so much better and I'm so happy I chose this specific escape. I really liked that Claire took the time to explain how important digestion is and what the ayurvedic lifestyle is about. I learned so much and I'm going to continue learning about it. Naomi and her team must have spent a lot of time on putting this together because there were so many details that were so specific and made me feel comfortable in a totally new and unknown environment. The cleansing kit, the beautiful dress I asked for, the delicious food that had a vegan option and setting with the decor gave me the impression that they didn't just see me as another random person on a retreat. They took a lot of time to get to know each individual and cater to their needs. Very unique and extremely appreciated experience. I really enjoyed the yoga exercises. I have never taken the time to slow and learn these breathing techniques. The massages were a big help too.The food was really delicious. The timing and consistency were spot on. I'm glad I learned about this cleanse and how easy it is to cook. My favorite moment was probably when the snow started to melt and we went on a hike. It was great to get out and explore how beautiful the area is.
The team of women at this retreat made the experience so wonderful. They brought so much warmth and love to Earth Dance! The little things- like pumpkins, lights, and fresh flowers...to how lovingly our yoga mats were folded for us each day brought so much to the experience. I felt very welcomed and like I was visiting friends. I also really enjoyed the hypnosis! That was entirely new to me and I learned a lot. I absolutely enjoyed our lunar workshop as well. The morning journal time was so cozy! I looked forward to that each morning and woke up earlier and earlier each day to get more out of it. It was also extremely fun to have a beauty bar for us with natural skincare! A lot of favorites but really- this was a great trip! Wonderful! I enjoyed the way the Claire gave us time to really prepare ourselves to practice. Stretching and focusing on our connective tissue was such a relief and brought a lot of ease to my mind as I had not been on the mat in quite some time. I appreciated the pace as well. I did not feel overwhelmed. The music was fabulous!Our meals were clearly prepared with so much love! The type of foods we ate were perfect for the goals of the retreat, and I very much appreciated the addition of eggs for added protein. I left the retreat feeling very refreshed and with such a greater understanding of how eating according to Ayurvedic principles can help my digestion. Favorite moments: Our closing ceremony around the campfire was so special! I also loved when we first arrived and got to settle into our rooms. It was so fun to receive items chosen just for me and then have tea and a snack with ladies as they arrived. Such a nice way to start things off!All in all I am so grateful to each person who put in the time and effort to make this trip great for us. We had a group of over 30 completely unique women and it was amazing to see how from so many different paths in life we all were there to unite and honor ourselves and each other.
