You will be accommodated at The Maidens in Delhi for two nights, Howard Plaza the Fern in Agra for one night, Haveli Hari Ganga in Haridwar for two nights, Marari Villas in Marari for three nights, and Hotel Casino in Cochin for one night. Your accommodation is based on twin sharing basis at all hotels or similar.

Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi arrival

You will arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) and meet assistance by the official representative, followed by a transfer to your hotel and check in on arrival for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi - Agra (204 kilometers / 4 hours)

After breakfast at the hotel, you will proceed for a sightseeing tour. This splendid city has been under human inhabitation since the sixth century B.C. and has also been the state capital of several empires during ancient and medieval times. You will be taken to visit the famous Qutub Minar, which was declared to be a heritage site by UNESCO and was constructed by a Turkish king, Qutub-ud-din Aibak, in the year 1192.

Follow your heritage journey and drive to Agra on arrival check in at your hotel. This city is situated on banks of river Yamuna and is also popularly called Akbarabad which was at its peak in the Mughal era. Then, take a visit to Agra Fort. This fort is famous for its architectural style from the reign of Mughals in about the 16th century A.D and also encompasses numerous mythological fortresses and palaces such as Khas Mahal, Jahangir Palace, etc. Tonight, enjoy a special welcome dinner at Pinch of Spices and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Agra - Delhi (204 kilometers / 4 hours) - Haridwar (4 hours by train)

Next morning, you will visit the mesmerizing Taj Mahal at sunrise when the first rays of the sun are reflecting off the glistening white marble of the monument. This breathtaking historical monument is symbolic of love and romance. It is one of the finest examples of Mughal architectural style with some elements of Islamic, Ottoman, Turkish and Persian styles of architecture.

Back at the hotel, you will enjoy a yoga session followed by breakfast, check out, and drive to Delhi railway station to catch the train to Haridwar (depart 15:20 / arrival 19:30) on arrival transfer to your hotel for your check in, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 4: Haridwar - Rishikesh - Haridwar (20 kilometers / 1 hour)

Today after your breakfast and morning yoga session (at the hotel), you will drive to Rishikesh. This small station is surrounded by forested hills and conducive to yoga and meditation. Ever since the Beatles enrolled at the ashram of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the late ‘60s, Rishikesh has been a magnet for spiritual seekers. Experience a special meditation session at Sadhak Grama Ashram followed by another yoga session on a ghat (river bank) after a visit to the Aarti ceremony.

In the evening, a misty breeze blows down the valley, temple bells ringing as sadhus (spiritual men) and pilgrims prepare for the nightly Ganga Aarti (a fire offering or ritual performed on the Ganges). Then, you will return to your hotel in Haridwar for your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5 (Haridwar - Delhi) (4 hours by train)

Today after your morning yoga session (at the hotel) and breakfast, you will check out and drive to Haridwar train station on time to connect your train back to Delhi (depart to Delhi 18:15 / arrival at Delhi at 22:30) on arrival assistance and transfer to your hotel close to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) for dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: Delhi - Cochin (four hours by flight) - Marari (90 kilometers / 2.5 hours)

You will have breakfast at the hotel which is followed by transfers to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) on time to connect your flight to Cochin. On arrival, you will meet Yogarama Retreats’s assistance at the airport, then transfer to your yoga retreat Marari Villas in Marari beach (the Marari Villas were published as one of the top six beach retreats in Kerala by The Independent in 2013 and have been the number one speciality lodging choice in Marari for the past five years according to TripAdvisor). Enjoy a yoga session in the afternoon and continue to have a dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Marari Beach

You will have a morning yoga session followed by your breakfast. The rest of the day is free to relax by the pool of your hotel or to enjoy some Ayurvedic massage and treatments with the local specialists in the Ayurveda in-house rooms at Lotus villa (payable locally). Then, you will have an overnight stay.

Day 8 Marari Beach

You will have a morning yoga session followed by your breakfast, and wait for fishing boats to empty out the day’s catch. Since ages, the fishermen go out to the sea in traditional vessels, where no winches, or other modern equipment is used. Every morning after sunrise, dozens of boats head for the same spot called the fish landing. The rest of the day is free to relax by the pool of your hotel and then you will continue with the farewell dinner at the beach garden of the hotel. Then, you will have an overnight stay.

Day 9: Marari - Alleppey Backwaters - Cochin (90 kilometers / 2.5 hours)

You will have breakfast and morning yoga sessions (at the hotel). Check out will be at 10:30, and later in the day board your private houseboat at 11:00 for an enchanting cruise through the

Backwaters. These boats are a reworked version of kettuvallams of olden times (once used to carry tons of rice and spices). Today, the boats are converted into comfortable floating accommodation, a cruise through the palm fringed canals used to enjoy the beauty of rural village life.

A sumptuous Keralan meal is served on board. After lunch, you will disembark at 14:00. Proceed to Cochin for an en route visit to the Jewish synagogue and Dutch palace at Mattancherry and have a stroll through Jewish town and the shopping street of Mattancherry (it's shopping time), followed by a visit to Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi. Then, proceed to hotel and check in.

Day 10: Cochin International Airport (COK) departure

After your early breakfast, you will make the check out and proceed to Cochin International Airport (COK) on time to connect your flight to Delhi for the Air India home bound flight departing at 13:15.

This retreat will be taking place in India. You will visit Delhi, Agra, Haridwar, Marari, and Cochin.

You will be served half-board meals and one lunch on board. Do not use tap water for drinking or brushing teeth. It is always preferable and safer to use only bottled or canned water. Regardless of precautions, changes in water and diet can result in mild abdominal upsets and nausea. To prevent serious illness, avoid suspect foods such as uncooked vegetables, peeled fruit, unpasteurized milk and milk products. Be selective when you try any food or drink sold by street vendors.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). Transfer from and to the airport is included. Yogarama Retreats will pick you up from the airport.

  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
