You will be staying in a beautiful old farmhouse located within walking distance of the historically-listed village of Samoens. On site is a brand new swimming pool and decked area, a sauna and hot tub, and numerous spaces for you to just chill and relax. There is also a beauty and massage room where Debbie, Yoganic Moves' beauty therapist, is on hand to offer a range of treatments from lymphatic drainage massages to pedicures and facials.

The farmhouse is made up of three apartments, each with beautiful bedrooms which have either twin or super king beds and en-suite bathrooms. Each apartment also has its own living room area and kitchen facilities where you can store any snacks and make a cup of tea or coffee. Breakfasts and dinners will all be served in a common area.

Yoganic Moves' program offers you daily yoga sessions along with guided hikes that will lead you along the best routes, showing you amazing viewpoints out the unique alpine wildlife. The program is completely free and "go with the flow." There is plenty of time to relax by the pool, read a book, pamper yourself with massage, explore the village of Samoëns, go for a run, go swimming in the nearby lake or go and discover some of the more adventurous activities like parapenting and rafting.

The June retreat is suitable for all levels of experience. The July retreat, meanwhile, is aimed at yogis who have at least half a year practice and who want to deepen their practice.

The morning sessions are more dynamic and consist of flowing Vinyasa style sequences connecting breath and movement. You will gain strength and flexibility, learn to find balance between action and relaxation, and find a deeper connection with yourself through the breath and your body. The yoga mat is a metaphor for life. By observing yourself on the mat, you can see how you stand in life.

Find your internal strength and discover you are so much stronger than you know, learn how you can overcome certain fears step by step, learn to listen to your body, surrender, let go, and find inner piece. Each class consists of two hours and there will be a different flow including standing, sitting, balance, twists, and inversions. Annick from Yoganic Moves will lead these morning sessions.

The evening sessions will be a mix of Restorative and Yin yoga. For more advanced practitioners who join the July retreat, there will be two afternoon workshops covering different themes like anatomy, asana lab, breathwork, and yoga philosophy.

In Yin yoga, you hold poses for a longer time and work deeper then muscles. You are mainly targeting fascia, joints, and ligaments. Yin yoga is a practice in surrendering and letting go and a meditation on its own. And one of the biggest misconceptions, you don’t need to be really bendy in order to take part in yoga!

Mindfulness is a core focus throughout the week and the aim is to help you really enhance your self-awareness so that you can not only feel empowered but enjoy a greater level of self acceptance and compassion towards yourself and others.

During the retreat, there will be a trip to the stunning classified nature reserve, Sixt Fer à Cheval. On this part day hike, you will go to Sixt Fer à Cheval, which is just a 15-minute drive from the village. The hike will take you to the so called "Bout du Monde" translated as "end of the world."

Here, you can take a dip in the ice cold pools at the base of the waterfall and enjoy the amazing health benefits of the negative ions which spray from the waterfall. You will finish with a picnic at the park and you can take a coffee in a local restaurant.

Another hike will take you to the lovely village of Praz de Lys at a height of 1500 meters, with viewpoints of the Mount Blanc. If you are lucky, you can spot marmots. Your mountain guide is there to answer all your questions and will take you up to the Lac du Roi, where you will have picnic. The part day hikes take place after the morning yoga sessions and breakfast and include a packed lunch.

On full day hike, you will climb the Mont Chéry starting from the charming village Mont Caly. Here, again, you will have stunning views on the Mont Blanc (if weather is on your side). This hike will take place on a morning when there is no yoga session. On all hikes, the pace is fairly leisurely. There will be time to rest and enjoy the stunning scenery. The focus will be more on enjoying the views and the nature. You want to walk mindfully.

Throughout the holiday, you will take part in two half-day hikes and one full-day, guided hike.

There will be packed lunch on the full hiking day. You will also enjoy six delicious evening meals (two-course dinner including drinks).

Step out of your comfort zone and try one of numerous outdoor activities the French Alps has to offer: paragliding, white water rafting, or canyoning. Yoganic Moves can book all these activities on your behalf before you arrive or when you get here. Every afternoon, there is ample time to just relax and enjoy a good book or walk into the very pretty Samoens village for a coffee and a browse around the shops.

If you would like to expand your comfort zone a bit more, this is the hike for you. This hike will take you further away from the village. You will go back to basics and will have one overnight stay at a wonderful gite up in the mountains (optional). During this hike, you will be fully absorbed by the beauty of nature, stillness, and stunning scenery. The views on the hike are stunning. There will be amazing waterfalls and panoramic sights. You even get to see ibex, fox, and marmots in their natural habitat.

You may wish to pamper yourself with a full body massage or a beauty treatment such as a facial, manicure, or pedicure with Debbie, Yoganic Moves' onsite beauty therapist.

"This was my first yoga holiday and it will definitely not be my last! I enjoyed the daily practice in different settings. We practiced yoga on the boat, on land, even once we discovered a forest where we enjoyed an early morning session. This is a holiday where you immediately feel disconnected from daily life. The classes were really high level and the professionalism of Annick makes you stand in positions you would never have considered as possible. Thanks!" website, edited

"I was really pleased with the daily yoga sessions, I liked that some were on the boat and some were on land, it kept things interesting and challenging practicing in different environments. It was also beautiful doing yoga in such peaceful locations and at sunset. I feel I improved my practice during the week with Annick's guidance, I could go at my own pace and there was time for individual help with personal difficulties." website, edited

"The holiday was extremely well organized and I felt really well looked after by Michelle and Annick for the whole week. The accommodation, the yoga, the coaching, and the hiking were all first class. The food at the chalet was really tasty and yet healthy, I would love to get some of the recipes. Also, the chalet was pretty close to Samoen, just a 10-minute walk up the road. All and all, a great trip!" website, edited

"The accommodation was perfect: very clean, modern, and has a spacious bathroom. The owners were lovely and helped wherever they could. Also, they cooked delicious healthy food for us. The yoga classes were perfect as well. Harder classes in the mornings to strengthen the core muscles, while in the evenings more relaxation and meditation. We had a lovely spacious yoga room with a stunning view. However, when it was sunny we decided spontaneously that we would prefer to have our class outside at the lake or the pool. The hiking trips were enjoyable and we had lovely views and could even see the Mont Blanc. There were easy hikes, but also very challenging ones and everyone could decide which one fits best. Overall, I can highly recommend the retreat. Everything was very well planned and organized and there was enough time to relax. I would always go there again. A big thanks to Annick and Michelle who organized the trip." website, edited

"Ibiza, well known as the party island, appeared to be an island of beauty, full of yoga love, delicious food, friendly people and happiness everywhere. I never thought the Magical Yoga and Hiking retreat would impress me that much. I met the nicest people who became my friends during the retreat. Although the ages varied from 20 to 80, I was inspired by each of them. They taught me to chase my dreams and take some me-time from time to time. I would like to thank Yoganic Moves and Annick. Her positive vibes, powerful yoga courses, love, and kindness made me have the most wonderful experience ever! All things happen for a reason, for that I am thankful this retreat was on my path. I realized that I have to do more what makes me happy and never stop dreaming. Don’t hesitate and book your way to happiness. The adventure is enchanting, the experience is priceless. And who knows, maybe it will change your life."

"Teaching is really your thing, you really see that on you. You are very good in your explanations and you have an eye for correcting and adjusting each student. The class is very well built up and each times different. Nice choice of music and inspiring texts at the end of the class, a nice and cosy studio."

"I find your classes a very good combination between strengthening and stretching, just what I need in combination with running and realizing I want to gain more strength in my arms. I like the small groups very much. It is costing you maybe more than big group classes, but you are giving us each small corrections that help us improve our practice. You motivate us and empower us to do the more challenging poses and you make us believe we are stronger than we know and this is helping me a lot. The combination of demonstration and walking around and adjusting is very good. And the cherry on the pie, I always feel fully relaxed and stretched after your class, so the proof is that a strong practice is very relaxing."

"What I like a lot from Annick's classes: your classes are down to earth and from time to time we can laugh. You don’t only have attention for the physical aspect of the practice, but you also bring in meditation. You demonstrate complicated poses and you let us know what to focus on. You have a connection with your group. You make adjustments and corrections. You encourage and give positive feedback. Very relaxing massage at the savasana."

"If you haven't heard of Yoganic Moves, just wait. You will! It should become one of the most popular yoga adventures talked about in both yoga circles and for travelers seeking travel with a nature or spiritual twist. Annick Cuvelier and Michele Willmott have put together a winning combination of yoga, coaching, if you choose, and adventuring. An hour and 45 minutes of yoga bookends a series of beautiful days. Annick is an outstanding and talented yoga teacher. Their most recent trip based in Sameons, France included choices to hike the French Alps, white water raft, parapente in addition to practice your yoga. Yoga sessions were appropriate for all levels. I enjoyed being able to self-assess how much activity I felt comfortable doing and appreciated how those choices were completely honored. Michele made one-on-one coaching available and I found it very useful. Meals were provided and they were unbelievably delicious, nutritious and creative! The love and care they were prepared with could nearly be tasted! That is a credit to Debbie, Tony, and Libby who designed and ran the comfortable chalet at the foot of the Alps we resided in while there. This trip fills the senses. The beauty of nature surrounds and inspires. This vacation is one big buffet of soul food! "

"Annick is just an amazing teacher, encouraging people to push their edges while looking after them to see that they don't get hurt. The Vinyasa session in the morning and Yin in the evening is excellent. The level was well adapted to the group. Time flies when having fun. This was a great week with lot of options next to the yoga and hiking. The combination of yoga, healthy food, meeting other people, the great accommodation, the hiking, rafting, and paragliding made this the perfect holiday. "

"I think yoga and walking in the Alps is a fabulous combination of activity with just the right balance of both. Although I am a yoga beginner, Annick is a wonderful teacher, the classes were relaxing, sometimes challenging, but always really enjoyable. I feel genuinely energized by the week and the time I spent with Annick, Michele, and my fellow yogis."

"I had a very pleasant yoga holiday, from the moment Matt picked us all up at the airport. After one hour drive, we were welcomed by charming Michele who showed us our flats with en suite bedrooms for each. The flat has a well equipped kitchen where we made ourselves tea or coffee (for free). My flat mate really enjoyed the ice-crushing machine. We did not have to cook for ourselves. We had gorgeous two course dinners and lunches and packed lunches on the hikes which took us to some amazing scenery in the Alps. Yoga sessions in the morning and before dinner were excellent, adaptations to the asanas were shown or explained, so nobody felt excluded. We all made progress in our yoga practice. It was a trip I will never forget. Thanks Annick and Michel for this inspired, well-organized trip."

"It was very nice to discover Thailand with Yoganic Moves. We were a nice group of people, had interesting talks, and laughed a lot. I really enjoyed the visits to the National Park as I love nature so much. The beach at Relax Bay is a little paradise with stunning sunsets and lovely shakes and cocktails. I enjoyed very much the yoga in the morning and the evenings. As I am a beginner some classes were quite challenging, but I feel that my body got stronger after 10 days. I will certainly continue practicing back home."

"This holiday in the French Alps surpassed all expectations and is a must for anyone who wants to experience hiking, yoga, great food, superb accommodation or just the beauty of the French Alps. Being a novice in hiking and yoga I was slightly apprehensive about booking this type of holiday, but from the moment I arrived the customer service was exceptional and team really made me feel at ease. There was no pressure to do any of the activities if I didn't want to, which I really liked. The activities were for beginners and anyone at any level of fitness will enjoy doing them, but experienced yoga students were also in our group and felt the benefits. The breathtaking environment of the Alps is a memory you will always cherish and being able to hike through the mountains and walk to the summit gives you a real sense of achievement. A pleasant surprise was the quality of the food, which matched any famous French chef. Plus the accommodation was like staying at a friends cosy house rather than a hotel chain. This holiday will improve your fitness, open your eyes to the unimaginable scenery, kick start your new healthy life, remove any stress, and, of course, stay with you forever. A dream holiday!"
