The 21-day 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training course is specially designed for people who want to learn traditional Hatha yoga. This course provides knowledge about the proper allignments of asanas according to the previous Vedic texts of Hatha yoga.

Yoganandham (A School of Yoga Learning...) is a yoga ashram with a perfectly natural and spiritual setting that helps you a lot through all your spiritual journeys. The vision of the ashram is to create a comfortable, nurturing sanctuary for spiritual seekers (sadhaks) from around the world, where they will have safe food, clean water, and guidance for their spiritual journey.

Yoganandham in India runs classes with holistic, integrating with all aspects of yoga: asana, pranayama, meditation, yogic philosophy, sadhana, and Vedic chanting. Yoga classes take place twice daily (except on Sundays) at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and are open to the public as well as ashram residents.

Three yoga halls allow sadhaks and guests to practice during scheduled special events; one on the ground level, second on the third floor, and third on the roof. All the yoga halls are clean, authentic, and natural space for yoga practice. Each hall is supplied with pillows, bricks, bolsters, and yoga mats.

Asanas (postures)

Students will learn many postures of text Hatha yoga Pradipika and Gherand Samhita. Study various asanas and the technique of teaching the postures, the benefits of each posture, contraindications, and the use of props according to various aspects according to the traditional Vedic texts of Hatha yoga.

This topic will focus on introducing you to the basic philosophy, concepts, and history of yoga. It will cover the various traditional philosophies and viewpoints, insights from modern research, and ways in which the essence of this holistic life-view can be integrated into a modern lifestyle.

a) Yoga Sutras (Preface of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra): Study this important text based on the eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga. Discover the theory and foundations of yoga as Patanjali describes how to make a connection with the body, mind, and spirit.

b) Kriya yoga - a methodology to overcome Panch-klesha (five causes of pain and miseries)

c) Raj yoga and Hatha yoga

Ethical guidelines for the student-teacher relationship, how to behave like a student, and how to behave like a teacher. Communication, limits between teacher and student. Recommended books: Patanjali Yog Sutra, Hatha Yog Pradipika, Gherand Samhita.

Practicing teaching with registered yoga teachers or experienced registered yoga teachers

  • Group teaching during class hours
  • Class observation

You will observe a class given by one of the experienced yoga teachers as an inspiration for the class that you will then prepare.

Peer teaching

These sessions allow you to practice your teaching skills and get constructive feedback from both your senior teachers and your peers on your progress. Lead trainers expand at least five to 10 hours with all student in this topic during their practicing as a teacher.

The food provided is hygienic and well-prepared yogic food. The pure vegan meals are served according to the principles of Ayurveda, and you are expected to be fully devoted and obey all the guidelines and disciplines of the yogic path during your training so that you may get the best benefits. Yoganandham - A School of Yoga Learning provides healthy and light breakfasts which is the best way to start your day.

It includes fresh juice or milkshake with bread and butter served with some different spreads or toppings. At lunch, they serve a complete full meal which would provide energy for the whole day. Typically, this will include one healthy salad, fresh seasonal vegetables, lentils, rice, and chappati. At dinner, they provide light food which includes soup, different salads each day, healthy vegetables, lentils, and chapattis.
