Traditional Yoga Teacher Training in India

The House of Yoga has 5 to 6 rooms, 3 washrooms with toilet, 1 kitchen. There is a big hallway on the ground floor and 1st floor. There is a big lawn to park the cars, two tare spaces, and a place to practice yoga inside. This house is 100 years old and has been renovated recently.

Program

About the training

Practice will be held in the morning in nature and evening in the studio to have an authentic feeling. Carry your own mat if you would like. Nevertheless, Yogagyani can provide a mat to those who do not have one.

The knowledge of the asanas and the alignment of the body together with ancient yogic breathing techniques and meditation will help you to be centered in the present with body and mind and therefore will have a regenerative effect on your life.

Philosophy

You will join philosophy of yoga classes with Benu Shridhar.

Daily schedule

  • 08:00 - 08:30 Pranayama
  • 08:30 - 10:00 Hatha/Ashtanga Vinyasa practice in the form of Iyengar way
  • 10:00 - 10:30 Break
  • 10:30 - 11:30 Questions and answers session
  • Break for breakfast
  • 13:00 - 14:00 Anatomy of yoga
  • 14:00 - 15:00 Philosophy of yoga
  • Break for lunch
  • 17:30 - 19:00 Iyengar yoga alignment and adjustment and last 15 minutes restorative posture
  • 19:00 - 19:30 Meditation practice with yogic breathing or Trataka meditation with a candle

Retreat location

The training will take place in Faraginpete, Mangalore, India. The accommodation is next to a farm which is more like a farmhouse. There is a coconut farm and grocery shops close by to buy veggies and anything you want within walking distance.

Food

The food will be vegetarian and also friendly to people who eat meat. Please do inform us if you have a diet requirement. It will be Indian and Western food.

If you have a special diet requirement inform Yogagyani so they can arrange it for you. Mostly, they have vegetarian food but if you want any other kind of food you can have it for an extra price.
