Accommodation

Yogadarshanam does not have onsite accommodation. Yogadarshanam works together with Mr. Ravi Kiran who will arrange a room for you in a nearby guesthouse. The guest houses offer single and double room accommodations. Each room offers attached bathroom, 24-hour hot water and power supply, pan, bed, and blankets. The premium-priced accommodation is bigger in size, comes with internet, and located closer to the school.

Yoga

Yoga is a systematic scientific process of self-unfoldment and an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga is the best curative and preventive medicine for most of the ills of the man resulting from the so-called modern living. Yoga is one of the most important Indian philosophy out of six Indian philosophy (Shad Darshana) and valuable gift of Indian culture (Rishi culture) to evoke hidden potentialities in a systematic and scientific way by which man becomes a fuller individual. It is a science and art of pure lifestyle with disciplines and conscious process to solve his problems.

  • An experienced yoga practice list for pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, and post-pregnancy
  • Different yoga practice list for three semesters during pregnancy
  • A talk to fetus and tremendous joy from meditation
  • A way to make your baby disease-free from pranayama and mudra
  • Special yoga asanas for normal delivery and postnatal exercises techniques for fast recovery and normal shape
  • Coping techniques for labor, asana positions for comfort during the first and second stage of labor, and partners’ role
  • Suitable diet plan, relaxation process, breathing awareness, and other health tips
  • Different yoga therapy practice for pregnancy complications - pelvic girdle pain, back, bladder, bowels leg swelling, morning sickness, constipation, etc.
  • Pelvic floor muscles asana and exercises
  • Comfort after your delivery
  • Activity in the early days after delivery - cesarean delivery, do’s and don’ts, etc.

Retreat location

Mysore is the third largest city in Karnataka, South of India. It is located at 770 meters above sea level and is 140 kilometers from Bangalore, the state capital. Mysore city is also known as the City of Palaces and the Ivory City. Legend has it that Mysore was ruled by the demon-king Mahishasura, he was a buffalo-headed monster. Hence, came the name of this place Mahishuru, the city of demon Mahisha. The demon was killed by the Goddess Chamundeshwari, whose temple is situated atop the Chamundi Hills. Mahishuru later became Mahisuru and finally came to be called Maisuru, its present name in the Kannada language. The anglicized form of the name is Mysore. The weather is lovely almost throughout the year and surrounded by greenery.

Food

This package does not include food. Gokulam has lots of mouth-watering foods and variety of menu on breakfast, lunch, and dinner, both European and Indian style around the school at yoga café / restaurant as well as at some home for home-made food. Yogadarshanam leaves the responsibility to their students to eat based on their own choice since most of the students have their own personal ethics and choice in food. This means you can eat your own delicious sattvic yogic food and enjoy.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bengaluru International Airport (BLR). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request. The most hassle-free and safe experience is booking an airport pick up from Gokulam like most yoga students do. It costs between 2,300 to 2,600 INR per car and this can be paid once you reach your destination. The most reliable and frequently used cars are from Ravi Kiran.

Arrival by bus

The other way is to take a shuttle bus from the airport to transfer to Bangalore bus stand and to transfer to Mysore bus stand and finally transfer into an auto rickshaw to Gokulam. You need to take a 3 to 4-hour of bus / car drive to Gokulam. However, it's definitely not worth the trouble, especially if you have luggage.
