Despite the ancient red bricks, the spa actually offers a wonderful blend of old and new. As soon as you enter the double glass doors, you won’t ever want to leave. Don’t worry, you’re welcome back at any time.

While looking after you, this Lake Garda spa also looks after the environment thanks to solar energy, advanced insulation, and plenty of other sustainable solutions that were used during construction.

You’ll be welcomed with a smile here, and the relaxing lounge area will allow you to sit with a tea, cocktail after a long day of traveling. Once you’ve settled in, there’s nothing stopping you from forgetting the world and entering bliss.

In total, there are 25 rooms at this yoga retreat Italy and they’re all designed individually so each customer has a unique experience. Whether you choose the Deluxe, Suite, or Junior Suite, you’ll receive the same high-quality service. Each room will offer temperature control, hair dryer, safe deposit, flat screen LCD, soundproofing, Wi-Fi, courtesy line, air conditioning, radio, and a minibar.

The prices indicated on this listing are an average estimate of the most basic Superior room. If you would like to upgrade to a more luxurious room, please send an inquiry and Yoga with Perumal will be able to advise you on the exact quote.

As the basic rooms in the complex, you’ll receive all the features listed above (and don’t forget the panoramic views outside the window!). Out of these 11 rooms 2 of them (rooms # 19 & 20) have strictly skylight windows on the ceiling.

Salt Water Pool

What if you want to sit outside and soak up the sun? Well, the salt water pool is the perfect place to do so. Surrounded by a pool bar (for all sorts of drinks and snacks) and sun loungers, the salt water itself will be ideal for the ‘relaxing’ theme because it’s less harsh on the skin compared to chlorinated water.

5 benefits of salt water pools

  • Your skin will feel soft and smooth after a swim; chlorinated pools can leave the skin feeling itchy.
  • Many studies have proven the positives effects of salt water on skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, and eczema.
  • Salt water won’t irritate the eyes while trying to relax.
  • The water will leave you feeling refreshed which fits nicely into the spa atmosphere of relaxation.
  • There are no side effects with salt water (unlike chlorinated water) it aids the joints and removes tension.

Yoga experts extol, and students are discovering, the amazing benefits of combining yoga with spa and massage. Yoga is an ideal form of meditation and holistic fitness practiced by millions of people across all parts of the world. In the last few years, more and more health and fitness-conscious people have been turning to this ancient art of creating and maintaining harmony between the mind, the body, and the soul.

Yoga with spa and massage does wonders in limitless ways. This combination helps attain an unmatched sense of stillness, serenity, and solitude settling deep into the bones. In short, you will be immersing yourself into a deep state of relaxation with subtle poses of yoga and breathing exercises, taught by a restorative yoga teacher, and complemented with the delicately guided fingers of a Spa therapist.

Yoga and Massage complement each other in endless ways. Yoga asanas such as the subtle and slow Hatha yoga helps in correct alignment of the body. On the other hand, the vigorous Vinyasa yoga allows the body to warm up for intense stretching. Chakra-freeing Kundalini yoga may be performed to release inner energy and the fast-paced Power or Asthanga yoga provides the full benefits of a workout.

Yoga practices applied according to the level of the individual or group, coupled with a relaxing environment creates clarity of thought and balance. This enhances every psychological, physiological, and spiritual goal. A massage improves supply of blood to muscles while enabling outside layers of muscles (the fascia) to also lengthen.

Proprioceptors in tight and over-used muscles of the body are stimulated enabling awareness of where our limbs are in orientation to space. This type of proprioceptors awareness lets us practice meditatively instead of thinking about the body so much. It also enables awareness regarding levels of exertion we should commit to. Besides enabling participants to enter yoga postures deeply massaging creates additional angles of awareness where tension exists. Where there is tension for a long time proprioceptors become accustomed to it, despite tension existing. That is why massages just like stretching reveals the places of tension.

You will be a skilled yogi when you make a return to your home after learning ways to revive well-being and achieve harmony between the mind and the body with holistic fitness and yoga practices. After having been immersed in ritually-inspired therapies, grounding treatments, and nature's bounty, the mind, body, and soul will be cleansed of negativity.

Sample Program Sequence

Joint preparation, stretching, meditation

A joint is any part of the body in which two or more bones make contact. They are quite sensitive and prone to injuries. Those new to yoga without a fitness background or returning after a long inactive period require joint exercises first. The first evening class will be a preparation class. Here we tune up the body for the upcoming lessons. Especially at the start of a yoga retreat, this sequence is an ideal first gentle entry step into the retreat. Included is an introduction to the upcoming lessons along with some light stretches and meditation.

Core Detox

This class is the foundation of the upcoming leg and arm sequences while detoxing the body. Core muscles are in the trunk of the body. Remove the limbs and head then what remains is the core. Major muscles of the core are the abdominals and mid to lower back. This progress to deeper lower abdominal postures followed by the upper abdominals through sequences coupled with deep breathing. Those with lower back problems are to avoid leg lifting and the boat sequences that follow. We progress into locust through east facing, camel and wheel postures before ending with meditation.

Foundation Leg Sequence

We practice a preparation and foundation leg sequence similar to what was authored by Perumal Koshy and published in Yoga Journal Italy. The lesson progresses through preparation exercises and then into the foundational leg sequence. Preparation sequences open the hip joints and knees before executing a series involving large muscle groups of glutes and quads. This sequence acts as a lower back opener through the iliopsoas muscles preparing our core for the next day upper body plank sequences.

Plank Sequences with Head-Standing

Cat-Cow Core Breathing/ Table pose pelvic tilt, upper body Arm Sequences. We move from non-weight bearing upper body preparation exercises into foundational strength isometric exercises or holding postures. Following are isotonic upper body strength sequences progressing from eccentric lengthening (with gravity) to concentric shortening (against gravity). This approach enables those with shoulder issues to progress in a controlled manner enabling an understanding of when to stop in the sequence. Head standing is practiced at the end of this lesson. It is ideal to headstand after having a well warmed up neck, shoulder and scapula area. This is accomplished with plank sequences. If you cannot headstand then the foundation along with the theory of head-standing will be explained.

Stretching and Meditation

This is a recovery sequence. The previous sequences of the first morning onward did not focus directly on stretching but yet the body was made to feel light, loose and carefree of pains. The previous sessions accomplished the freedom of the body that stretching provides through preparation and strength postures. Here we stretch the body directly. In this manner, we avoid overstretching of the body during the retreat enabling reduced risk of injuries. Upcoming sequences will lead to stretching at the end of preparation and strength sequences.

The lesson sequences that proceed onward depends on the individual or group that is participating. What we proceed to do is based on feedback regarding ability. We either repeat the previous lessons or combines the previous lessons into more complex sequences with synchronized breath and movements known as vinyasa. There should be no hurry to enter into new and unfamiliar information especially if the previous sequences were challenging. The deeper goals of practicing yoga postures are to do them with an effortless movement while maintaining a still mind.
