Ines Stephan (Instructor)
For over 25 years, while as a devoted yoga student. Her father inspired the first lesson by challenging her to practice pranayama breathing. She continued a study of yoga through books from A.Lysebeth, G.Cella Al-Chamali Swami Satyananda Saraswati and began a multidiscipline solo practice. Ines produced all 30 Yoga with Perumal online video courses. This lead to a 10 year partnership and study of Yoga with Perumal method being taught on retreats. The student reviews of her teaching are very high.

"Fabulous Moroccan yoga experience"
Ines always went beyond the hour and a half, sharing her knowledge and philosophy of yoga. She listened about back concerns and took us through yoga exercises to target and relieve pains. She was an exceptional teacher and is sending exercises to my husband to continue the work he has done with his back. The food was very good: breakfasts exceptional. Rooms were beautiful and large and located close to the lovely pool. Staff were courteous, friendly and discrete. Also, just a twenty minute ride to the airport.

My husband and I attended the retreat together. We had an amazing time. Our personal instructor Ines was brilliant, she walked us through all the postures and we have both returned home very knowledgeable on Yoga. We also had a great laugh with Ines, she was a joy to be with and we shall definitely be returning back next year 🙏. The accommodation was lovely and the food they served us was excellent. Our waiter smile even delivered our tea & juice to our villa in the mornings if we felt like not going to the restaurant. Overall, the whole team where amazing, they couldn't do enough for you. Thank you all so much, it was an absolute pleasure and I'm so looking forward to visiting again next year. It was an absolute delight 😘💪🙏

"A retreat like no other"
The resort was small and beautiful, so personally decorated by the owners, and the staff could not be more helpful or just generally lovely.
Yoga with Ines every day was a treat, sometimes it ran on a little long but you didn't notice as it was all part of a well rounded class.
Food was excellent every day, I'm quite a fussy eater so when I found out there wasn't a menu as such, just freshly prepared food that changed daily, I was a bit nervous, but there was nothing to worry about at all. Breakfast and dinner here every day was delicious and very healthy with a great selection of Moroccan recipes.

"Perfect Teacher in a marvellous place "
I'm just back from a three days yoga retreat in Jnane Allia.
I was looking for a place where I could relax and do yoga without belonging to a group.I am fully satisifed by my stay. The Riad is just perfect in terms of set up, as it is quite little, everything is easy! The rooms are pretty, big and nothing miss, they are situated around the pool, the atmosphere is very quiet, everybody is really respectful and all is really calm. The food is absolutely fantastic, Stéphanie is great, like a real mom she looks after you during all your stay, I've done two sessions of yoga per day with the great Inès, so devoted and attentive, her yoga method is absolutely great, very different from what I've experienced so far, she teaches hatha yoga by making us learn the asanas but also pranayama and all the philosophy and pillars of yoga (that are too often forgotten). I've loved her behaviour, she is a fantastic teacher and I recommend her to all people who need to have a break and enjoy the peacefulness of yoga.

My time at the Kasbah Du Toubkal and with Perumal Koshy was pure tranquility. From the moment I arrived, the staff where so accommodating and always on hand if I needed anything. Perumal greeted me with a very warm welcome and told me about the few days of yoga to come. I had started my practice of yoga about two years ago and only really doing Ashtanga I was a bit on edge to try a different style., but I can say after my few days with Perumal his approach to yoga and his method have made me a stronger person. the difference in my practice at the end of the week was amazing. I would highly recommend both the yoga and the accommodation for anyone looking to escape life for a few days, pure tranquility.

Reviews from 3 superbegginers in Yoga ;)
From Edwige : A great teacher in a great venue. With Inès' yoga sessions twice a day for 6 days I got what I came looking for and even more. A strong knowledge of Yoga's foundations, and a stronger body and mind to take home. Thank you so much Inès for your good humour, your patience and all your advice. I'll be back ;)
From Love : Inès, thank you so much for this super week of yoga, we have made a lot of progress as you had promised during our 1st class and we go back home with a sense of accomplishment. I highly recommend to anyone who wishes to discover what is Yoga to take this retreat and be sure to be back with a improved level of Yoga practice ! Plus Marrakech is a wonderful place to visit !

Gentillesse des gens, les jardins, les yoga classes
We discovered yoga during a yoga retreat in Marrakech with Ines. We really appreciated Ines's global approach. She was very attentive and available to answer all our questions and correct our postures. She especially gave us the desire to continue once back home. Thank you so much.
I spent a week at Jnane Allia in September. Truly an oasis of tranquillity to relax and switch off. Beautifully decorated rooms with private patio. Very nice and clean pool area to enjoy the sun and read a book. The staff was so helpful, friendly and always full of smiles. Stefanie, the manager of the hotel is going out her way to accommodate the guests needs. She is such a pleasant and helpful host. The food was lovely, something different every night, a fusion of Moroccan and Italian cuisine. Breakfast, a delight every morning. A massage by Maria, another wonderful and relaxing treat.
This week I was the only guest doing yoga. I could fully benefit from private lessons with Perumal. I started with yoga only a year ago, Perumal adapted the program to my level. His progressive approach has improved my mobility, breathing and strength in just one week. Having had my first yoga lesson back in Switzerland made me notice, I improved my technique in different asanas. I have met Perumal as a very warm and intuitive person. His way of teaching is challenging, yet very motivating.
I can only highly recommend yoga with Perumal at the tranquil oasis Jnane Allia. I hope to be back.
Kasbah Toubkahl is the perfect setting for a yoga retreat. High in the mountains with spectacular views. It's easy to forget the 'daily grind' here.
Perumal is an experienced and patient teacher. Not only did he guide us in our positions but also gave us background on the origins of yoga. I would recommend this trip to yogis of all levels.
I stayed 3 nights at the resort Jnane Allia at Marrakesh. After the manager himself picked me up at the airport he gave me a short sightseeing tour through Marrakech while we were driving to the resort. It was a warm welcome and I felt comfy very easily. After the check in with lovely and refreshing mint tea I was served an amazing dinner with three courses. I actually thought that this will be just for the first night but no this amazing dinner is every evening. You get served meat every day which was fine for 3 days for me but it would have been no problem to switch to a vegetarian meal even shortly or during dinner time. The waiter Ayoub who’s there the whole day makes your stay even more amazing. It doesn’t matter what you want he brings it for you - he even rescued me from a spider :) All the people at Jnane Allia are very very nice and friendly. I met the owner and his wife at my last day while he took me to town-they are both super nice as well!!!
The Yoga lessons are in the morning before breakfast and in the evening before dinner. I like the concept of doing yoga in the morning an then having a big breakfast then do whatever you like and do yoga again and eat afterwards. I did Yoga before but after the stay I understand more the Yoga and the different levels or why you should not do this but do that etc. Perumal is a great teacher who explains a lot and I loved the little talks we’ve had after every session. I still do Yoga every morning, of course not 1,5 hours but I do a few breathing techniques and a few postures he showed us which helps me to start a the busy day :) I’m really thankful that I went there and I will definitely come back again-next time 1 week cause 3 days are too short :)
The only „negative“ thing is, that the transfers to town costs extra, which is fine but I didn’t know that so it would be better if someone would tell that before.
The yoga teaching by Perumal was exceptional. He very quickly became aware of the ability of the group and tailored the classes so that we all got the maximum out of each session. Jnane Alia is a grat setting for a yoga retreat very peaceful and beautifully designed. Unfortunately the hotel part was a little like Fawlty Towers or the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel with fairly amateurish service which did not really align with the concept of a retreat Basically it was great yoga in a fantastic location with poor service and no real attempt to provide healthy food. The food was delicious but as a retreat.my expectation would be some effort to provide very healthy food. To summarise we enjoyed it because the yoga was so good, likewise the location but for the price I also feel that we shold have also received exceptional service.
My mom and I had a pleasant stay at the Jnane Allia. The hotel is small and cozy. The food is super delicious and the cuisine even response to special wishes. The yoga teacher, Perumal does also a very good job and he adapts his teaching to the level of the students. I highly recommend staying at Jnane Allia.
