Reclaim your self with stillness and serenity in the beautiful island of Tobago. Enjoy yoga sessions, guided meditation, and bodywork therapy at the beautiful Kariwak Village in Crown Point town. During your holiday, you are welcome to explore the wonderful Caribbean's sea life by sailing among dolphins, swimming with manta rays, and sea turtles in a private beach accessible only by water.
During this retreat, you will stay in Kariwak Village, where you will find a tranquil tropical island retreat. Choose from a poolside cabana or a garden room, each providing luxurious harmoniously-designed accommodations. Kariwak Village is in sync with nature. This is the ultimate idyllic escape for those who appreciate the finer things in life, while having all of their senses aroused by the surrounding nature. There are 18 poolside cabanas that are closer to the restaurant and the main building, and 6 garden rooms that are closer to the yoga ajoupa and the hammocks.
This bungalow style garden rooms, are rooms are really close to the hammocks and jacuzzi. Wooden shutters and wall accents, high ceilings over a king sized bed, and a natural skylight in the bathroom give these rooms a more secluded feel perfect for couples or a solitary retreat.
Tucked into the gardens surrounding the main pool, the poolside cabanas are filled with natural light from the sliding glass door and the whimsical portal window. High ceilings and cool tile floors create a spacious, yet intimate feel to these rooms, which are ideal for couples or small families. Some of these rooms can be interconnected to create a two-bedroom suite.
This retreat will take place in Crown Point, Tobago. This beautiful place offers everything the Caribbean is loved for, from the reef to the rainforest and the multiple beautiful beaches in between, in a small, simple package. It is a dream destination for divers, artists, kite surfers, birdwatchers, hikers, writers, and sun seekers. It is the perfect balance of tropical, eco adventure, and a tranquil island retreat.
Your practice space for the week is the ajoupa, which is a marvelous open air venue with a towering thatched roof and beautiful hardwood floors surrounded by lush gardens.
You will gather in the ajoupa each morning for a guided meditation. Every day will have a different mindfulness focus, such as breath meditation, body awareness meditation, listening meditation, walking meditation on the beach, metta (loving kindness) meditation, as well as some simple chanting through the chakras.
Each meditation will be accompanied by the sounds of Tibetan singing bowls. After breakfast, you will meet again in the ajoupa for an invigorating Hatha yoga practice taught by Darcie. One morning, Lisa will teach a core-focused meridian yoga class.
You will have an opportunity to explore the area until mid afternoon. You can have lunch, get a treatment from Lisa, go for a swim, nap in a hammock, or simply walk on the beach. The options are endless and the time is yours to enjoy!
Your afternoon class will be a scrumptious way to wind down the day with a cooling, gentle Hatha yoga practice and various pranayama (breathing) exercises. Lisa will teach two afternoon classes, one meridian yoga class and one elemental balance self-care class. Dinner starts at 19:00, so you will have the early evening to enjoy as you wish.
You will take one day off your yoga practice to experience the tranquility of a seven-hour chartered sailing cruise aboard a 42-feet catamaran to a secluded beach for lunch, snorkeling, kayaking, and swimming. The day cruise goes from 09:30 to 16:30.

If you arrive at Piarco International Airport (POS) you can then take a short connecting flight to Arthur Napoleon Raymond Robinson International Airport (TAB). Kariwak Village is at a very short walk from the airport or at an inexpensive taxi ride.

Tobago is pleasantly hot in the late winter and mostly sunny, with the occasional afternoon shower.
Kariwak provides some yoga mats and bolsters; however, it is recommended that you bring your own yoga mat, as well as a belt and a block if you have one. You should also bring any other props you like to use, such as an eye pillow, blanket, or meditation cushion. You should also bring your passport, sunscreen, bug spray, sun hat, swimsuit, and walking shoes with you. If you have snorkeling gear, you can bring it for the catamaran tour but some equipment will available

Darcie is a yoga teacher in Toronto with ten years of teaching experience. Her classes are grounded in slow, deliberate movements linked with the breath, this will help you find a stable and relaxed stillness within the practice. Darcie's goal as a teacher is for her students to develop a greater understanding of themselves, their body, mind, and breath.
Lisa began her journey into the Eastern practices in 1997, with Thai massage. A serious injury early in life led Lisa towards the modalities that were helpful in her own pain management. She has more than 15 years of studies in shiatsu therapy, reflexology, Pilates, movement therapy, acupuncture, and is currently in studies for osteopathy. Lisa also has been teaching during the past 10 years shiatsu, Pilates, meridian stretching, and partner massage.
Chef Cynthia Clovis creates a delicious fusion menu that changes daily and is designed with locally grown produce for your dining pleasure. Meals are served in the spacious open-air dining area and all of your dietary preferences will be readily met.
During this retreat, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary healing bodywork treatment, where you can choose between elemental balance, meridian therapy, acupuncture, and reflexology.
