Sailing Yoga Retreat in Spain

A unique experience of a week of sailing and practicing yoga in stunning spots of the islands. This is an opportunity to enjoy sailing the Mediterranean and experience life on a sailing boat, practice yoga in beautiful places, and participate in many other magical moments that simply happen during these weeks. Set sail from Ibiza port to embark on this great little adventure. It will be a maximum of 10 people living and sailing on this amazing boat.

Ioran is a great and very comfortable 47-foot-long sailing boat. It will accommodate up to 10 people in 5 different cabins. Including the captain and the teacher, the crew on board. On board, you will find all facilities, a kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and an inside spacious saloon area. This charming sailing boat also offers a great outdoor dining space, with a sitting area.

This promises many beautiful breakfasts, brunches, and dinners al fresco absorbing the scents of the ocean and the surrounding landscapes. The boat also offers a great front deck to relax and where you will have some of your meditation or sun gazing sessions. There is plenty of space on the decks outside to relax, read, or sunbathe whilst sailing. Accommodation is on a shared basis, in cabins offering the basic comfort you need for a good night of rest.

Program

You will find the most beautiful beaches for the morning practices, and then sail along enjoying the Mediterranean sea. You will finish the day enjoying a meditation session or a yoga practice whilst the sun goes down. At night, moor on a cool beach where you will spend the night and enjoy a meal in the restaurants by the beach.

The yoga

The yoga practices will take place on different beaches each morning and afternoon. The practices will be Vinyasa-based and tailored to the group and each individual. You will also combine yoga practices with meditation and/or other sessions in the afternoon. They will ensure you don’t miss any of the stunning sunsets that the Balearic Islands offer. Please note, that beach yoga is different than in a studio. You will need to embrace natural elements such as water, sand, and an outdoor feel.

Sailing and onboard living

During this week, you will experience life on a sailing boat. The most amazing feeling, yet a very different one from the normal comforts of modern life. The Iorana Boat is a beautiful sailing boat, yet you will be living at the sea. You will discover life from the sea and have the possibility to access many amazing places unreachable by land.

The daily stops will give you the opportunity to go exploring the island and its nature or villages. The times sailing are moments for yourself, to relax, socialize with the group as well as learn sailing basics, if desired. But part of the retreat will be teamwork. In the boat, you are an essential part of the crew.

That means that you will have to collaborate for a smooth week and that includes boat sailing basics as well as tasks such as setting the table up, helping to prepare the meals, or cleaning the dishes sometimes. Please ensure you are happy with bonding that way.

Embarking point

The meeting point will be on Saturday at Cala Jondal Embarking Dock from 13:00. The team will set sail at 14:00.

On Wednesday, you will disembark very close to the airport at Cala d en Jondal at around 16.00. From there you can take a taxi to the airport which shall take less than 15 minutes.

Typical retreat schedule

Day 1: Saturday - Arrivals

  • 13:00 Meeting point at Cala Jondal embarking dock
  • Welcome meeting with the teacher and captain on board
  • Setting sail to ride the seas

Days 2 to 5: From Sunday to Tuesday

  • 08:00 Wake up tea
  • Yoga class on the beach
  • Breakfast on the boat
  • Tidy up and sail to a new location, with stops on different beaches, time for swimming, snorkeling, or visiting villages, and time on land.
  • Lunch on the boat
  • Free time for siesta, swimming, relaxing, or socializing.
  • Evening sunset yoga class on the beach.
  • Free dinner on land or onboard

Day 5: Wednesday

  • Last day morning yoga
  • Breakfast on the boat
  • Sailing towards Ibiza Las Salinas drop-off point
  • 16:00 Arrival in Cala Jondal
  • Packing and disembarking
  • Farewell healthy cocktail at the Jockey bar

Please note many guests stay over in a hotel that following weekend. Feel free to book your own accommodation for that.

Included excursions

Ibiza

In Ibiza, you will visit Salinas Beach to see beautiful turquoise waters where the famous Sa Trinxa and Jockey bars are, Cala Proroig, a place only accessible by boat which is a perfect paradise to practice yoga in the morning, and Cala d’Hort, a fantastic beach with a great restaurant for a night dinner located next to the magical water rock of Es Vedrà. Afterward, you will have plenty of sailing time to Formentera which will take approximately three hours.

Formentera

In Formentera, you will sightsee at Cala Saona which is an amazing quiet beach for practicing yoga with a great bar-restaurant for enjoying coffee or meals, Ses Illetes. It is one of the most emblematic places in Formentera where you will be delighted to see amazing sunsets at, Espalmador, a natural reserve located between Ibiza and Formentera, and Es Calò, a small cala located in the west of the island which is an amazing place to swim.

Ibiza

This is a fantastic time of the year to visit and enjoy the white islands. Ibiza is a multi-faceted island. Although many know it for its famous clubs, Ibiza has got much more to offer and many secrets to discover. From stunning beautiful beaches and coves, to Ibizenc villages, Catalan food, and the amazing UNESCO-listed old town of Ibiza, the charms of the island are unlimited.

You will be sailing from some of the famous Ibiza beaches to quieter sandy coves backed by pine-clad hills found all around the coastline. During your stay there, you will feel a different energy around Ibiza, with the rock of Benirras in the north of the island, and the majestic rock of Es Vedra in the south, Ibiza is known as the third most magnetic place in the world.

Formentera

Formentera is a smaller island with white sandy long beaches to dream for, coves and cliffs, and possibly the most turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. You can also decide to go and discover the island with the opportunity to rent bikes or scooters. These two treasures of the Balearic Islands will slowly unveil their charms and secrets as the week goes by.

At the Yoga Boat, you will have daily vegetarian breakfast and lunches cooked as a team. All menus are prepared and shopped for. Dinners are free time and not included. At night, you will moor on beautiful beaches with nice restaurants to enjoy dinners on land. However, you are also welcome to stay on board and cook your own food or with the ones also staying in.
