Newly renovated, Yoga Weeks Barcelona is a fantastic modern yoga lifestyle retreat right in the heart of the city. Yoga Weeks offers a getaway, a week of yoga, well-being, cultural and healthy holidays in the lively city center of Barcelona. Fantastic international teachers, unique accommodation at a modernistic house, delicious vegetarian brunch and plenty of other activities and treatments are waiting for you in this retreat. All levels and beginners are warmly welcomed. Yoga Weeks' aim is to bring a healthy and balanced yoga lifestyle to your daily city lives.
Newly renovated in November 2021, the Barcelona Yoga Weeks retreat center was built in a big and beautiful modernistic house in the heart of Barcelona. The beauty of the space resides in staying in a Gaudi-Style House from 1890. Please expect a beautiful, welcoming, clean and peaceful guest style house.
The center is located in a nice and quiet street, yet minutes’ walk away from the central Gothic neighborhood and a 10-minute walk away to the beach of Barcelona.
The building is one of the cataloged examples of the modernistic movement (Gaudi’s movement) and was built in the year 1890. The building and the house has been conserved with all its magic features such as: Nolla colorful flooring, high and decorated ceilings, long and airy corridors, the iron works of the back facade and a smart distribution of the rooms allowing all of them to have access to outdoor spaces, such as internal patios or balconies.
The building has the 1st elevator installed in the city, also dated 1890, a magnificent example of woodwork and engineering for old high-class housing.
All rooms are spacious and carefully designed by one of the most creative and young design studios in Barcelona: PPT Interiors. The result is a welcoming, highly beautiful and comfortable center to stay, relax, socialize and practice yoga.
Bathrooms are shared within the house. They have a total of 3 for a 7-9 people retreat. These are cleaned daily.
Each morning, you will have two hours daily morning yoga, private for the retreat guests where you will be able to follow the yoga retreat program with a dedicated teacher for you. In the evenings, you will also enjoy the daily sunset class on the rooftop terrace, overlooking the city. When cold or rainy, Yoga Weeks also have a cozy indoor shala to practice.
Classes will be taught in English. Daily classes will be followed by a vegetarian brunch cooked and ready after the practice. Then free time to enjoy the city until the afternoon yoga session.
Options are to explore the city, enjoy the beach or just relax and be. Yoga Weeks team also offers extra optional activities such as massage, Barcelona tours, away days, paddle boarding, cycling, massages, alternative therapies, and much more within the city and surroundings.
Note: times can slightly change depending on the month of the year for better light on the rooftop. If you wish to stay more days, that is also possible.
Ana started her holistic journey after moving back to Barcelona and working in a very fast-paced environment, with long hours and stress involved. Yoga became then part of her life, to find a better balance. After many years of practicing yoga, she decided to leave the corporate world for a different, more fulfilling work and life.
Mar began practicing yoga 10 years ago. She found Ashtanga yoga that gave her discipline and changed completely her life so she dived into the knowledge of the practice and became a 500-hour Ashtanga teacher. She does also have extensive studies about the Chakras.
Arianna Piroddi graduated in Design, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship. She discovered yoga back in 2015 in London, where she was living then. The journey of discovering - the tangible and intangible, the inner and outer world - guided by art, movement, and much more began in the primary years of her life. Arianna Piroddi is a 250-hour Yoga Alliance-certified Vinyasa Yoga teacher from Milan. Yoga is a constant journey. The important thing is to start the journey, then the breath will guide you in the best direction.
Ana was born in Barcelona and discovered yoga for the first time when she was studying Art History at university. Mostly, the type of yoga in her classes will be Hatha Vinyasa. Ha means “sun” and that means “moon”. The aim of Hatha yoga is to balance lunar energy and solar energy, yin and yang, feminine and masculine. This type of yoga is energizing and balancing. Generally, you will practice it in the Vinyasa style so it’s a dynamic practice with a part of stretching and relaxation. She's thankful for every person willing to receive her practice and learn with her.
After studying and working as a pharmacist for years, Audrey had a Dharma call. She changed her path to share the Yoga practice and lifestyle. She practiced and studied extensively over the years and shared it with her teachers and students. She is forever grateful for all the paths walked so far. Many years of teaching have allowed her to read bodies, to understand her students' practices. She likes to offer classes in a dynamic way, working the body and the breath little by little observing how the mind calms down.
Judith will be one of the main yoga instructors in your Yoga Teacher Training, with years of successful new Yoga teachers trained on a weekly basis. Barcelona is a vibrant Mediterranean city with a fantastic ancient culture. It is not a quite place but has a very chilled vibe for a big main Spanish city. A place not to miss for sure.
The center is located behind La Boqueria Market, main and one of the oldest local food markets in the city. An amazing place to walk and explore local food in a great buzzy market. The center is also located between the popular street of Las Ramblas, one of the most beautiful promenades of the city and minutes walk from the seafront and the beach. Also, the old Gothic Cathedral and neighborhood are steps away.
