Program

The yoga course will include meditation, mantra chanting, neti-pot cleansing (a nasal cleaning technique), Kriyas, pranayama, asana practice, prayer, kirtans, sacred fire rituals, and plenty of discussion around yoga philosophy - all of which are taught as part of a teacher training course. Meditative walks, hiking in the Himalayas, and Ganga River rafting is also included. Yoga Village Rishikesh contributing its own efforts physically, mentally, and spiritually to improve faith in the yoga education of the people into the holy town of Rishikesh.

While yoga in the West focuses almost exclusively on the physical postures (asanas), but in India, particularly in traditional yoga ashrams and schools, asana is only one aspect of yoga. Thus, people can expect a greater emphasis on meditation, breathing, and cleansing techniques along with devotional practices such as mantra chanting, discussion on philosophy, and Karma yoga (community service).

The healing power of mother nature in the holy place Rishikesh of Himalayas will help the people for their yoga practice and strengthen their connection to the higher consciousness. Daily morning yoga classes, meditation classes, mantra chanting, and Kriyas will give a differentiation from the other yoga schools in Rishikesh. Furthermore, yoga philosophy is the major part of yoga. It gives the whole knowledge about the different paths of yoga, their development in different time eras, and gives the guidance to follow these paths.

Yoga can help you lose weight, balance your metabolism, and develop a lean body. Mentally, yoga maybe even better. Bandhas (energy locks) are so beneficial to increase the energy, lock the energy in the body, and give an extra strength by the practice of asanas and pranayamas.

Yoga practice gives the shape of the physical body that you will be so aware and love yourself. Yoga techniques of meditation give the relaxation to the mind that one can know himself in a pure state of mind of a blissful state as a soul. Asanas and pranayamas practices increase the stamina and strength of the physical body.

Note: Yoga Village Rishikesh will give you the participation certificate of the yoga retreat. Yoga Village Rishikesh will also provide a secure environment for a family inside the campus and give the guidelines for the outdoors.

Other important information

  • If you have any issues related to your health, mood, psyche, please inform Yoga Village Rishikesh.
  • Once the class starts, students will not be allowed in the hall.
  • During asana practice, please leave all jewelry, books, extra clothing, book bags, and purses in your room.
  • Respectful behavior is mandatory at all times on and off the premises.
  • Silence should be maintained between 10:00 until the morning.
  • Students have to present in all scheduled program of Yoga Village Rishikesh.
  • Students can check the notice board regularly for the schedules and updates.
  • Before departure, please deposit your books or any goods which you borrowed.
  • Please deposit two passport-sized photos for the registration & certification to the reception of the office.

You will be served daily nutritious vegetarian meals (breakfasts, lunches, and dinners) and herbal teas. Yoga Village Rishikesh will provide your yoga retreat in the lap of nature and give facility to purify the self through a sattvic food diet and balance the yoga practices. You are not allowed to bring the utensils of the dining area in your rooms. Non-vegetarian food, smoking, and drinking alcohol are not allowed In the premises of Yoga Village Rishikesh. If you are having a fast any day, you have to inform kitchen manager for avoiding food waste.
