Retreat location

Rishikesh is a well-known place for yoga and meditation in India. Rishikesh is believed as the yoga capital of the world. Since ancient times, so many yogis, sages, and seers have practiced yoga and meditation here; in the forest of the Himalayas and on the bank of the holy river Ganga.

Maharishi Patanjali had a deep practice of yoga, the grammar of Sanskrit language as well as research on herbal medicines in the forest of Rishikesh nearly 2600 years ago. At that time, he was the first man in the world who had written a book, especially on yoga, and that was "Yoga Sutra". He also wrote another book "Ayurveda and Vyakaran". It’s a very interesting thing that after 2600 years, of knowing about the benefits of yoga on humankind, the world is accepting the Patanjali Yoga Sutras as a strong tool of yoga practice and following it.

Nowadays, Rishikesh is famous for yoga schools, yoga ashrams, and studios as well as for tourism. So many people come here from around the world throughout the year for yoga and meditation, Ganga river rafting, camping, trekking, bungee jumping, rock climbing, and jungle safari in the Rajaji National Park.

Rishikesh is 244 kilometers from New Delhi International Airport and 19 kilometers from Dehradun Airport.
