Zaini guesthouse

Amidst this above-described environment, Zaini guesthouse has been raised to be uncommon. Actually, Zaini's most important ambition is to let people having the impression of being close to nature in order to teach them its due respect. As you might guess, since this village is a hip place to be spotted already, there are many resorts and other chalets.

What makes them unique is how Zaini has personally developed the harmony between the four dimensions, space and time and the natural elements, water and earth, on the land granted by his wise father. Indeed, the ways the seven chalets are set to give a great feeling of privacy and peacefulness to their guests are so great.

Moreover, this is an authentic guesthouse because, first of all, Zaini's house has been on this land for more than 20 years and, second, because they sincerely consider the people who come here as their guests. It is almost like a homestay except that you can have your own room yet you can share your lifestyle in the kampung, especially if you stay for sometimes or if you come many times. The surrounding of Zaini guesthouse has river and stream, huge lawn, or playground.

At Zaini guesthouse, they have seven wooden chalets that can accommodate maximum 21 persons, a big house for nine persons, and one club house where another 15 to 20 persons can fit. They can welcome individuals as well as a group with a maximum of 60 persons which are 40 in chalets and 20 in tents.

All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, electricity, and a power plug. Zaini guesthouse provides bed sheets and blankets only for the chalets, table fan and electric kettles for free on request, and five common showers and toilets. There is a fully-equipped kitchen with a gazebo. It includes a double stove, a fridge, a huge rice cooker, two barbecue pits, all the necessary utensils to cook, and all plates, glasses, and cutlery.

A-frame chalet

The A-shaped chalet is provided with two single mattresses on the floor for one to three people and a shared bathroom. It is adjacent with one of the classic chalets. Most of the time, families like taking both at the same time and let the children in the A-shaped chalet since it does not have any window so it looks like a cave-hut which would delight any youngsters.

The camp site is virtually any spot on the lawn, except under the coconut or durian trees as the fruits of these trees drop when they ripen and Yoga Tree certainly do not want their guests leaving their place with swollen heads.

Classic chalets

There are two of these, which have the same size but each designed exclusively, one with one window at the back and the other with two windows on the side. One chalet is equipped with two single beds and the other one is equipped with one double bed. They are very close to an open kitchen, gazebo, and showers outside.

Privacy chalet

As the name suggests, this small chalet is a bit secluded. It is provided with one double bed and a mosquito net as well as a wooden table and chair inside for those who might be inspired to do some writing. There is enough space to add one single mattress on a mat on the floor. It is located between the stream and the river and is actually very close to the river access. It includes an exceptional private bamboo-made shower room behind it.

The bamboo chalet

The bamboo chalet is the first one and located at the entrance. It is built at the edge of a bamboo bush on large, six-feet-high wooden pillars so that it overhangs the river and the lawn. It is provided with a queen size bed and one single bed thus it can accommodate a family of three persons. It has a small terrace facing the bamboo in total privacy, an open lounge under the bedroom, and a bathroom outside tough.

The club house

The club house is the big and tall house that you will find after the small stream's bridge. It features two floors as well. Downstairs is like a hall, an ideal place to gather a group to do some talks. Upstairs is an open area without wall that can be used as a dorm to accommodate at least 15 adults plus additional five children on mats or that can be used as a praying quarter, surau.

The family chalet

The family chalet is the most complete chalet since it provides a private toilet attached to the bedroom itself on the first floor and a private shower at the lounge-kitchenette ground floor. It can host a complete family in the same room with two queen size beds.

Tikar chalet

This chalet is called like this because its walls are made of tikar (mats). With three double beds, it can accommodate six persons. It is the closest chalet to the common showers or toilets.

This retreat is a perfect opportunity to rejuvenate, enjoy yoga, and learn about aromatherapy. You will be learning in depth and with safety about the therapeutic, aesthetic, and subtle aspects of essential oils using therapeutic base ingredients and aromatherapy.

During this retreat, on the first day, Frédérique briefly defines aromatherapy, essential oil, and give some safety reminder on usage. Then she will smoothly move to talk about holistic and energetic aromatherapy. In the evening, you do an olfactive meditation on Anahata, the heart chakra with a special blend of selected essential oils to open the heart.

The next morning, you will do another meditation with an uplifting blend to awaken the senses and the body-mind-spirit. Later, Frédérique presents a selection of essential oils for stress reduction during daily life and how to use them. At the end of the workshop, she remains available for some questions and answer. You will go back home with a sample of the two blends you have played with during meditation: heart opening and stress reduction.

The essentials of essential oils

Here is how to harness to mood-boosting power of essential oils.

This strong, camphoraceous aroma is used to help you breathing easier when you are stuffy. You need to add a few drops to boiling water, cover head with towels, close eyes, and inhale deeply for no more than five minutes.

This floral aroma is used to calm and relax to clear your head when you are tense. You need to mix six drops with one-ounce almond oil and dab under your nose and inhale for 15 minutes.

This fresh and sweet orange peel aroma is used to invigorate the mind and sense when you are tired. You need to add to a reed diffuser and leave on the desk for continual bursts of refreshing scent.

Peace and harmony blend

This minty, floral herb aroma is used to provide a scent to center and balance when you are meditating. You need to add to a diffuser so you can breathe in the benefits during meditation.

Peaceful sleep blend

This floral citrus aroma is used to help you to unwind and relax when you sleep. You need to add 30 drops to one ounce of water to spray scent around the bedroom.

This fresh, strong mint aroma is used to cool to stimulate clear breathing and soothe throat when you are under-the-weather. You need to add several drops to a diffuser.

She knows how to share her love for Nature and aromatics with great enthusiasm.

Zaini guesthouse

Zaini guesthouse is located at the end of an extended village, composed of five kampungs of around 1,700 impermanent souls. This area is a Malay reserve, a reservation land for the indigenous Malays and they have named it Janda Baik, which means the kind widow.

If you look at the maps, you will see that Janda Baik is positioned on the highlands of the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia, Pahang, where the famous 130 million years virgin rainforest national park, Taman Negara, is founded. Therefore, the surrounding jungle is still relatively undisturbed; indeed one can find numerous rivers and waterfalls as well as luxuriant flora and some hidden wildlife that can be spotted by the patient and observant adventurer.

Nowadays, this village starts to become quite popular with urban dwellers of Kuala Lumpur seeking to escape the bustle of the city for a brief respite, most probably because here is their closest, coolest, quietest, and most natural place to get away from it.

In addition, the preservation of the trees, particularly fruit trees, adds some appeal for guests. Here, if you are lucky to come during fruit season, you will taste a full array of tropical fruits such as the infamous king of the tropical fruit, the durian, and the favorite queen of the fruit, the mangosteen, but also rambutan and pulasan, soursop, jackfruits and chempedak, guavas, langsat. One can also find on the land few kind of ulam that can be known as herbs and leaves that can be eaten raw and are considered as good medicine, food full of nutrients.
