Exclusive visits to monks (Proficient yogis who have renunciate the world and spend most of the time in their hidden abodes in the Himalayas). Extremely smart, aware and intelligent people who are in an awesome pursuit of self-discovery. He lives in the Pandav Gufa about 2 kilometers before Gangotri. This cave is where the Pandavas performed tapas on the way to heaven, after relinquishing their kingdom. He has been living there for over 12 years now. The cave is dark and isolated and there is always a fear of being attacked by wild animals. Baba Ramdev has lived with him for a few days during his earlier Himalayan visits. He loves drinking and offering coffee as Prasāda!
She lives in Hanu Kutiram, a cave about 1,000 feet above Gangotri. She is an extremely proficient yogini, considers Hanuman her younger brother, and has long conversations with him! She lovingly calls him Lalla. She has a collection of 66 Hanuman Murtis (the last one gifted by me) and has taken a Sankalpa to take her collection to 108.

She has been roaming in the Himalayas for over 18 years! Before becoming a monk she served as the head administrator for a children’s NGO. She is planning to spend this winter in Badrinath. She lives an extremely content and fulfilled life. Exploring and recognizing the divinity within is her life lesson for everyone!
He lives in Ram Mandir that his Guruji built about 2kms ahead of Gangotri. He left home when he was just 9 years old and has been there for over 35 years! During summer, he loves to have guests over and no one can leave his abode without enjoying a delicious meal or at least some black tea! During winter, he sits in meditation for days together! He has a sprawling rose garden an apple orchard.
He lives in Tapovan (16,500 feet) above Gaumukh. While the above four Sadhus live in close proximity to human inhabitation, Mauni Baba would need to walk for at least two days to see another human or to get to Gangotri! He remains isolated for about 8 months in a year as all routes for commute are closed in winters.
He just loves to receive trekkers who venture up to Tapovan in the season. Otherwise, he is by himself and also self cures himself of any kind of ailment he may experience! After spending 12 years in silence, now, he speaks in an extremely low voice and one has to strain to understand what he is saying.
Self-inspired saints with the ability to make anyone who visits them love life and be filled with immense joy! It is natural for us to think of their lives as tough and full of struggles. On the contrary, they find the lives of city-dwellers, extremely hard!

What is Sattvic Diet? In Ayurveda, the emphasis is on a Sattvic diet for healthy living, particularly for keeping our minds clear, happy and at peace. The original Sattvic diet was devised for the development of higher consciousness.
Sattvic foods are foods that are abundant in Prana - the universal life-force that gives life to all sentient beings in both plant and animal kingdoms. A Sattvic diet means not only vegetarian food but food rich in Prana - 'life-force' like organic fresh fruits and vegetables. It requires avoiding canned and processed food, and foods prepared with chemical fertilizers or sprays. It also means properly prepared fresh foods. Foods prepared with lots of love will add to their Sattvic quality.
The ancient Ayurvedic criteria for foods to be considered Sattvic were quite simple: foods were grown organically on good, rich, fertile soil; foods were to be attractive in appearance and harvested at the correct time of year. Foods were whole foods, full of life-force and enzymes, and as close as possible to their natural fresh state.
Today, we need to add to these criteria for a Sattvic diet several other modern concerns. Sattvic foods should be grown without pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers, hormones, irradiation or anything unnatural. The modern use of refinement processes and chemical additives, besides actually adding substances to our foods, depletes foods of their Prana 'life-force' and hence renders them heavy, impotent and lifeless.
Sattvic foods are nutritive vegetarian foods like organic nuts, seeds, whole grains, and oily fruits and vegetables that help build the brain tissue and develop Ojas.
