I've been practicing Yoga Shanti for almost a year now and I have nothing but good things to say about this studio and the instructors.I came to Yoga Shanti as a true beginner, a little apprehensive since my athletic ability is about zero. However, I was met with such openness, acceptance, warmth and support, and I feel like I've really been able to grow at my own pace. The instructors push me to expand my comfort zone and challenge my limitations, but it's always without judgment. The props and modifications offered are very helpful, and really make yoga accessible to anyone at any fitness level and age. So far I've taken beginner's classes, level 1, a couple open classes and plenty of urban zen, which has had such a positive impact on my life, and all have been fantastic. Scarletts knowledge of yoga is immense, and she imparted it to us in such an easy way that it was impossible to not learn from her. She was attentive to each of our needs, nurturing us independently and as a group, so that we really grew together throughout the month.AAnd as others have said, the space is beautiful and relaxing. Truly a space you don't want to leave!

It's nice to attend a class where the music isn't louder than the teacher and where there's still a big component of alignment and meditation. Loved our class here.

Attended the urban zen class. It was perfect for me since, as a visitor to New York City, I'd been walking way more than usual and my body needed some tender loving care. Not being from here, I'm not used to the higher prices. But if you consider how great the instructor was and how lovely the studio is, I was ok with the drop in rate. I'd certainly come back again next time I'm visiting.
