Come and join this yoga retreat in fantastic Turkey! The retreat offers a fantastic venue, great food, and yoga. The yoga retreat will be held in a charming hotel located in Dalyan, a village situated on a small river joining the lake to the sea. The style of the yoga would be Dynamic Jivamukti, and the meals will be vegetarian using vegetables grown in the hotels field. You will also have the opportunity to further explore and enjoy the island: miles of beautiful unspoilt beach, turtles, riverboats, mud baths, and hot springs.
The hotel has 16 rooms, a swimming pool, bar and restaurant. All the rooms have air conditioning and en-suite facilities complete with a hair-dryer on the wall.
These upstairs rooms are long rooms with a sloping ceiling over the bed and another small sloping ceiling over the wash-basin. Because of the conservation rules in this area they have a very small balcony with a higher than normal wall.
Each room has air conditioning and is en-suite. Upstairs rooms have a mosquito door (as well as the normal door) onto the balcony and you can sleep with this closed and the door open if you prefer not to use the air conditioning.
These downstairs rooms have the same amount of space overall, however it is split into two rooms. The rear half has the beds and wardrobe, the front half has a settee and an armchair plus additional wardrobe space.
Each room has air conditioning and is en-suite (slightly larger en-suite than rooms upstairs). These rooms also have a small wooden deck which overlooks the swimming pool with a small wooden table and 2 chairs.
There are two yoga spaces, a smaller one that is enclosed on all sides by bamboo screening and a larger one that overlooks the pomegranate field. The shade provided by the bamboo screening in both yoga shalas allows the air to circulate whilst keeping out the heat of the sun.
Yoga takes place twice daily in one of the two yoga shalas. The open yoga shala overlooks the pomegranite field and has space for up to 25 yoga mats. The second yoga shala is enclosed on all sides by bamboo screening. The shade provided by the bamboo screening in both yoga shalas allows the air to circulate whilst keeping out the heat of the sun. There is one day in the middle of the week with no yoga so you may venture further afield on excursions such as the Twelve Island boat trip, or just spend the day relaxing by the pool. There is also a tree house which is perfect for meditation.
Dalyan village is situated on the small river that joins the lake to the sea. The small yoga hotel is in the conservation area between the village and the beach. The area is in the edge of the National Park which contains the beach.
There are no buildings at the beach - the National Park is two and a half miles deep and electric light is banned in this area because turtles nest on the beach. Its a very long and sandy beach - quite spectacular. To reach it, you catch a bus outside the hotel, it takes about 10 minutes.
You can also walk into Dalyan village from the hotel, it takes about 15 minutes in the other direction (or you can take the bus) and there you will find cafes and shops and also the river. Its a lovely area; however, all of Turkey is lovely. It is possible to take a boat down the river to the beach from the village.
