Come and join this yoga retreat in fantastic Turkey! The retreat offers a fantastic venue, great food, and yoga. The yoga retreat will be held in a charming hotel located in Dalyan, a village situated on a small river joining the lake to the sea. The style of the yoga would be Dynamic Jivamukti, and the meals will be vegetarian using vegetables grown in the hotels field. You will also have the opportunity to further explore and enjoy the island: miles of beautiful unspoilt beach, turtles, riverboats, mud baths, and hot springs.
The hotel has 16 rooms, a swimming pool, bar and restaurant. All the rooms have air conditioning and en-suite facilities complete with a hair-dryer on the wall.
These upstairs rooms are long rooms with a sloping ceiling over the bed and another small sloping ceiling over the wash-basin. Because of the conservation rules in this area they have a very small balcony with a higher than normal wall.
Each room has air conditioning and is en-suite. Upstairs rooms have a mosquito door (as well as the normal door) onto the balcony and you can sleep with this closed and the door open if you prefer not to use the air conditioning.
These downstairs rooms have the same amount of space overall, however it is split into two rooms. The rear half has the beds and wardrobe, the front half has a settee and an armchair plus additional wardrobe space.
Each room has air conditioning and is en-suite (slightly larger en-suite than rooms upstairs). These rooms also have a small wooden deck which overlooks the swimming pool with a small wooden table and 2 chairs.
There are two yoga spaces, a smaller one that is enclosed on all sides by bamboo screening and a larger one that overlooks the pomegranate field. The shade provided by the bamboo screening in both yoga shalas allows the air to circulate whilst keeping out the heat of the sun.
Yoga takes place twice daily in one of the two yoga shalas. The open yoga shala overlooks the pomegranite field and has space for up to 25 yoga mats. The second yoga shala is enclosed on all sides by bamboo screening. The shade provided by the bamboo screening in both yoga shalas allows the air to circulate whilst keeping out the heat of the sun. There is one day in the middle of the week with no yoga so you may venture further afield on excursions such as the Twelve Island boat trip, or just spend the day relaxing by the pool. There is also a tree house which is perfect for meditation.
Dalyan village is situated on the small river that joins the lake to the sea. The small yoga hotel is in the conservation area between the village and the beach. The area is in the edge of the National Park which contains the beach.
There are no buildings at the beach - the National Park is two and a half miles deep and electric light is banned in this area because turtles nest on the beach. Its a very long and sandy beach - quite spectacular. To reach it, you catch a bus outside the hotel, it takes about 10 minutes.
You can also walk into Dalyan village from the hotel, it takes about 15 minutes in the other direction (or you can take the bus) and there you will find cafes and shops and also the river. Its a lovely area; however, all of Turkey is lovely. It is possible to take a boat down the river to the beach from the village.

There is a small hotel restaurant and daily breakfast plus 5 evening meals are included in the cost of the holiday - extra evening meals are available on-site if you wish, however local restaurants are terrific and they do recommend you try them.
A large Turkish breakfast will be served after the morning yoga class and an evening meal on the arrival night and 4 other evenings. If the group wishes to eat more meals on site this is easily arranged for a small extra fee. A lunch menu is available.
Food will be vegetarian unless Yoga Shala Ibiza requests otherwise - vegetables are grown as much as possible in the hotel's vegetable field. Fish is readily available in the area. Please inform Yoga Shala Ibiza if you would like one of the meals to include a fish option.
Between yoga classes, your time is your own, its a beautiful area with lots to do: go to the beach, walk into the village to visit coffee houses or do a little shopping, take a boat trip down the river to the beach or up the river to the lake.
You may also walk to the ancient ruins - a huge site with its own amphitheatre where Yoga Shala Ibiza has practiced their yoga occasionally.
On the edge of the lake are the Sultan Baths - a hot spring and mud bath area and a Saturday evening excursion is offered to visit this. There is also a hamman in the village where you can visit for a steam bath and massage (there is also have a masseur who comes to the venue).
You may also choose to simply relax by or take a dip in the swimming pool. The swimming pool has a small waterfall and a Jacuzzi. There is also a tree house in the hotel. The tree house can be used for meditation in your free time.
To get to Dalyan you will need a flight to Dalaman Airport. From there, no matter what time you arrive, Yoga Shala Ibiza will meet you and transfer you to the venue.
