Yoga Sanctuary Southampton India Yoga Retreat Program

It is recommended that you fly to Delhi on the evening of Saturday, March 11 to arrive in Delhi the morning of Sunday, March 12 and then book a domestic flight from Delhi to Dehradun (30 minutes from Rishikesh) for the afternoon of March 12.

This retreat will begin on Sunday afternoon with a welcome satsang at the ashram followed by an evening yoga practice. Yoga, meditation, and inspiration will flow through each day of the retreat as naturally as the Ganges flows through the valley. Sunrise and sunset living yoga sessions will be the backbone of each day.

Satsang will be offered most days of the retreat at either the ashram or various ancient Shakti centers or places of natural beauty in and around the valley of Rishikesh.

Retreat location

This retreat will take place at Yoga Niketan Ashram which is set amidst lush gardens in the small north Indian town of Rishikesh. The ashram is an easy walk away from the center of town but far enough away to maintain a feeling of peace and solitude.

Rishikesh is nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas beside the turquoise waters of the Ganges River. It has been held sacred by countless yogis who have sort out their soothing solitude and powerful spiritual resonance and is one of the popular pilgrim centers and gateway to the Himalayan Shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.

The yoga centers of Rishikesh have enhanced the significance of the place, thus Rishikesh is known as yoga capital in all over the world. From this point on, the great Ganges leaves behind her mountain home and enters into the vast plains of northern India.

Rishikesh is located at a height of about 1360 feet above sea level. Twenty five kilometers away from Rishikesh is the Nilkanth Mahadeo temple at a height of about 5000 feet, commanding spectacular views of the region. Over time, numerous ashrams have arisen along the beach lined banks of Ma Ganga producing an atmosphere of tranquility that melts the heart of all those who visit in search of the soul.
