Aparna Levine

Aparna came to yoga in 1999. Having practiced now for 14 years, her love for the practice has only grown stronger with each step on the path. Her journey began with the physical practice of yoga and lead to its many branches over the next few years. Though she started with power yoga, her real introduction to the essence of yoga came at the Sivananda Ashram in India. There she was introduced to the texts, scriptures, ecstatic chanting and Vedantic meditation.

Over the next few years her devotion to yoga as a transformative vehicle led her to seek out dedicated teachers from a number of backgrounds. She was interested in finding various tools to assist her on her journey. She also began to recognize that she might need to draw from a number of styles and lineages to feel nourished on different levels.

Traveling across India, Aparna learned and practiced at various Ashrams, under many wonderfully talented teachers and continued to do so in America as well. After many years of integrating her studies in various styles of yoga, philosophy, and her love of the practices and insights of Buddhism, Aprana led to teach playful yogic movement coupled with profound yogic philosophy and she is motivated to create an experience that builds conscious awareness within every aspect of the practice.

Mystical and magical, Bali is a land that draws us deeper to its magnetic charm and healing capabilities. Perhaps it’s Bali’s beauty, maybe the friendly people, or maybe even the influence from the therapeutic energy that certainly abides in this place. The central region of Bali is arguably the most scenic and Ubud is an ideally located town from which to base yourself as we explore all that Bali has to offer. Bike around the paddy field covered foothills of a nearby volcano, immerse yourself in village life, and visit the island's iconic temples.

"It is her inspiration that cultivated my desire to teach yoga. I am changing. I had taken yoga for years but never applied any changes and now realize how incredibly important it is to focus on the moment and live in it. Living moment to moment has helped me let go of things from the past and it has become so much easier to let the changes happen. I am grateful towards Aparna for being the flame that lights my way, for all her inspiration, and for being a wonderful teacher. Most of all I thank the universe for letting our paths cross, for I am forever indebted to her wisdom."

"Ive taken classes and workshops from Aparna for the last 5 years. She has not only transformed my understanding of Yoga but her teaching style has contributed to positive changes in my life such as a renewed sense of self, an inner peace and acceptance. Ive learned in her class that everything I do is perfect and wonderful for me. She makes every class all about your own challenge, journey, and growth. For me, Aparna has set the bar very high for other Yoga instructors I have or expect to encounter in the future. I will take her classes as long as the opportunity exists. She is a wealth of knowledge and a gift in my life."

"I have been taking yoga lessons off and on for the last 15 years or so. Sometimes from good instructors, but most of the time from people that should not have been in the profession. About four years ago, I was introduced to a different style of yoga by Aparna. She is very professional and always up to date. We have a dedicated group of people attending her classes which makes for a pleasant environment and is a lot of fun. I hope I will have the pleasure of these lessons for a long time to come. "
