Nico is a young yoga teacher with extensive an extensive background in music and philosophy. His approach to yoga is one that honors the need of self-actualization and union with your body. Therefore, his classes focus a lot on the proper use of the breath; while maintaining a focused mind. Nico has studied yoga since 2012 and has began teaching since 2016. He draws much inspiration from teachers such as Pattabhi Jois, Sharath Jois and Alan Watts; by combining both physical exercise and intellectual inquiry.

"The great escape: relax & recharge"
I recently spent four days at this yoga retreat with my teenage daughter while on a trip to France and Spain from the US. It was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the yoga classes taught by Nico and meditation sessions in the morning that were led by Eric. Having Nico play guitar during shavashana was an extra treat! The location and beautiful garden with lots of green as well as various pets was a joy, as were the amazing meals prepared by the lovely Masayo. We had a spacious and comfortable apartment with a private balcony, kitchen, living room and large bedroom as our quarters. When we asked for extra blankets and a heater, as the temperatures dropped considerably at night, they were immediately provided for. We further enjoyed our full body massages by Eric, as well as the time available for little outings in and around the pretty town of Benalmadena. The communication with Migui ahead of our arrival had been super efficient and smooth, and we enjoyed meeting her on our first night. Along with us their were 6 other participants, all women, and it was fun connecting with each of them in a natural and unforced way. I was impressed to see how my 15-year old daughter was welcomed by all and interacted with everyone individually. I believe one of the things that made the experience so special was the openness of all and the unforced, relaxed manner in which the entire retreat was conducted. This was our first yoga retreat experience, but will definitely not be our last one.

"An inspiring adventure"
I never had a yoga lesson nor meditation experience before, nor eaten vegan meals. But it was an unexpected fantastic experience...
- Lying under the shadow of a tree, with sea vision, listening to Nico’s guitarplay: heaven!
- Delicious food from Massaio and meditation sessions from Eric made the body and mind at ease: wow!

"Heerlijke, rustgevende dagen bij Malaga"
Het gitaarspel van Nico was geweldig tijdens het ontspanningsmoment. En natuurlijk het overheerlijke eten van Masayo. Ik voelde me ontzettend verwend!

"My first yoga retreat and I hope the first of many!"
Couldn’t have wanted for anything more...amazing site, the best food I’ve ever eaten and a fantastic yoga instructor. Everyone went out of their way to make you feel welcome and make sure you have everything you wanted/needed. I had the best time and I will definitely be returning!! Would recommend anyone unsure or debating whether to do this retreat...just do it!! You won’t regret it!

"A perfect piece of yoga heaven"
Everyone at Yoga Malaga Retreats really wants you to have the best experience possible. Erik runs the retreat very conscientiously and is keen to hear about the good points and the not so good ones. It was unseasonably cold and wet and he promptly dealt with cold rooms and a flooded yoga studio! Nico's enthusiasm made the yoga sessions great fun and Mayaso's food is.....well, AMAZING. She was in the kitchen all day creating almost everything from scratch. It was a joy to eat food that had so much thought and care put into it.
The location is perfect - early morning yoga overlooking the sea with sun on your face as peacocks roam around the garden is pretty hard to beat!
Add to that a great bunch of new yoga buddies on the retreat - it was pretty perfect!
The food was so amazing, I really have to say it was the best food I have ever had in my life! I had a lovely time, the yoga was great and I have even practiced this morning, so hope to make this part of my daily routine. The atmosphere is very caring and fun, and I have made some lovely memories. Namaste
I have just arrived home after my stay with yoga retreats malaga.
And what an great experience.
I loved everything about it, the place was super nice.
Big beautiful garden, where you could relax with a book by the pool during the day and where the evening yoga classes were held.
And nothing beat the view over the garden when the sun is rising during the morning yoga.
I loved everything about my stay, but I will just mention some highlights.
Migui warm welcome, and great the conversations. She has so much positive vibes, and is a great yoga teacher.
Eric`s cooking! Everything he made tasted fantastic(I normally eat meat/fish, but didn’t miss that one second during my stay).
There were always enough food, and also fruit and tea(coffee) available during the day.
The yoga! Both the calm evening classes, and the morning ashtanga classes were really good.
It was my first (proper) class with ashtanga so I didn’t know what to expect, but the class with Nico was superb and he made one and an half hour go by so quick.
He challenged us and corrected us during the class, and also modified when some of us needed that.
Nico is such a fun person with so much energy, he gave me some really good belly laughs. And I loved the guitar playing(after the yoga class).
Would highly recommend this place, and I would love to come back.
