Stand on the edge of Ireland and take a deep breath. Create moments to remember for a long time to come.
Temple house will be our home for the first three nights. A classical Georgian manor set on a private estate of over 1,000 acres. This luxury country house in County Sligo overlooks a 13th-century lakeside castle of the Knights Templar. The Perceval family home since 1665, the present manor was redesigned in 1864, and enjoyed the authentic and unpretentious luxury country house that it is today. Each bedroom is unique, with art and family heirlooms to enjoy.
You will travel to Inis Mór (Inishmore) Island, the Big Island. A place of natural beauty with a unique landscape, It is Well known internationally with over 50 different Christian, pre-Christian and Celtic mythological heritage monuments. It isn't far you can go before being somewhere where there's something of historical interest and little reason to question its importance in modern Irish Culture.
The accommodations on Inis Mor are within walking distance to the beach and the local restaurants. Bike rental for our two days on the Island allows us to explore the Island. Leaving Inis Mor, we will catch the short ferry to the City of Galway. Galway city is the gateway to some of the most incredible scenery on the Island of Ireland. A balmy, bohemian city with a love of traditional music - Galway is hard to resist.
The spirit of Ireland's west coast beats through the bustling streets, from mellow old pubs boasting turf and cozy corners to shops selling Claddagh rings, Aran sweaters, and bog-oak carvings. The day is yours to discover this old city, and we'll meet for dinner in the evening. You will stay the night in the seaside village of Salthill.
The final destination is Dublin, Ireland's capital city. The city is full of history and sites to visit. You will wander the streets together as Yoga Retreats Ireland shows you the places of great importance in Irish history. Evening dinner in one of Dublin's oldest bars, The Celt, is well known for traditional Irish music and great food. On the final morning, you meet for breakfast and farewells till you meet again.
Yoga Retreats Ireland will greet you at the arrivals gate at Dublin Airport. You will have tea and a chat as you wait for the other guests to join you. Noon departure for the west of Ireland on a scheduled coach with Yoga Retreats Ireland's long-time driver and friend. There is a comfort stop along the way for a bathroom break and a beverage.
Arriving at Temple House at 4 p.m. A lovely welcome from the hosts, Roderick and Helene, as they show you to the pre-booked room of your choice. Gentle yoga for those that wish to join. Followed by pre-dinner drinks in the drawing room. Evening dinner is prepared by a former chef to the Queen. The food at Temple house has been referred to as art.
On day two, you will meet for yoga, followed by breakfast. This is a day to enjoy the grounds and lake at Temple house. Forrest walks or for those that wish to take a boat out onto the lake. Evening dinner.
Breakfast is followed by a hike; after your hike, you will visit the seaside town of Strandhill for yoga with a sea view and a seaweed bath. Evening dinner with the locals.
You will depart for Inis Mor. An Island in Galway Bay. Two nights' stay to immerse yourself in Island life and visit the ancient sites of the Island.
You will return to the mainland and spend the day in Galway city, a vibrant bohemian city situated along the Wild Atlantic Way. Spending the night in the seaside town of Salthill.
Depart for Dublin, check in to the city hotel. Meeting later for a tour of the city with me and some shopping. Evening dinner in the Celt pub, known for great food and traditional Irish music.
Final farewell as you return to the airport after breakfast.
Nothing makes Caroline happier than sharing her two loves, Ireland and yoga with the world. She will lead in the daily yoga practice before you begin your glorious days of learning, laughing, sharing, and sightseeing around Ireland. Born in Dublin and raised in a pub in the inner city. The daughter of a single mother from the age of seven. She spent her childhood in a house filled with anxiety and stress. Lifelong lesson of living surrounded by anxiety was not a lifestyle she wanted to repeat for her own children. Discovering yoga, Caroline found the key to balance.
All of the meals are locally sourced and made with as much local produce as possible. Yoga Retreats Ireland does their best to bring to you the finest of Irish food.
