During this retreat, you will be staying at Springfield Castle. The rooms are available for single or double occupancy. If you are coming with a friend, Yoga Retreats Ireland will do their best to accommodate you. Springfield Castle is the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Muskerry.

County Limerick is the birthplace of Malachy McCourt, the author of Angela's Ashes. One of the delights of staying at Springfield Castle is the seclusion and tranquillity offered by the 200 acres of wooded estate. When you drive in through the gates and up the three-quarter mile long tree lined avenue, you will feel the magic of entering a “different world”.

There are fields of quietly grazing deer and acres of woodland walks tempting you to explore. Springfield is a prime example of an Irish Castle with gardens. The organic farm, woods, and gardens at Springfield are all yours to roam and in the season you can enjoy a visit to the Victorian era walled garden with flowers, herbs, salads and vegetables organically produced for local markets and available to guests.

A tour of the farm with Jonathan on the tractor and trailer to meet the deer is a fascinating opportunity to see nature up close. Wildlife abounds at Springfield and the dawn chorus in spring and summer may be the loudest thing to disturb you.Walking through the woodlands and avenues you may be lucky enough to see some of the wildlife that lives here. We have rabbits, foxes, badgers and even barn owls.

You will have two yoga classes for all levels daily and will be held in the West Wing of the castle which boasts a heated floor. Caroline, Ena, and a local guest teacher will be teaching a class with you. If you wish to improve your practice or have never been to a yoga class. This is the place to for you.

Do not worry about your novice experience as a yogi as there has been past guests that have never taken a yoga class. One lady started her yoga practice at the age of 76. It is truly a testament that yoga is for everyone.

All classes with have assists and adjustments as Ena will also be teaching Nidra yoga, the yoga of sleep. They hope you will take away some of the tools from this practice to your daily lives. Your afternoons are scheduled with group activities or time to be alone. County Limerick is the birth place of the Irish writer, Malachy McCourt, and all guests will be sent a copy of his book, Angela's Ashes. It is truly a sad story but with the resilience of the Irish, it has now become a musical.

In the evenings, dance along traditional Irish music at the castle's own bar. You can also join Yoga Retreats Ireland on a trip to nearby Newcastle West which is a small town is situated on the River Arra where you can spend the afternoon visiting boutique shops showcasing Irish designers.

Yoga Retreats Ireland hopes for everyone to make this retreat their vacation. They have found from past retreats that women talking and sharing is truly the essence of the retreat, without the interruptions of their daily lives.
