Filoxenia apartments are built in an idyllic position with a fabulous view to the sea. Both buildings are surrounded by a lovely garden area which is very spacious and has many great views. All the rooms have been nicely decorated and comfortably furnished. They all have a great balcony which is furnished with chairs and a table and has spectacular view stretching out to the sea.
Right in front of the apartments there is a path which leads to a magical small beach with blue waters where you can enjoy relaxation and swimming. Filoxenia is definitely ideal for families, couples, and for those who desire to escape from the routine of everyday life.
This is an option of accommodation for a limited budget. The studios are located in the village of Lentas, around 10-minute walk from the retreat center.

There are many books that analyse yoga positions and how to get into them properly, but the practice of yoga should preferably start with a qualified yoga teacher, since it is not recommended to teach yourself.
In the West, the focus is mostly on the postures of the body (asana) and practitioners hope to tone their body to the required shape. Maria was born in Athens, and she studied there psychology, theater, pedagogy, and dance. She studied the behavior, reaction, and expression of the human body and she guided seminars of body expression and relaxation, both in Athens and Crete. Maria was trained in Hatha yoga in Greece as well as abroad, in England and India, and she is a yoga trainer herself, recognized by Yoga Alliance International. She has been studying the world philosophy, discovering human evolution throughout time. Nowadays, she runs Breath of Life certified center in Heraklion, Crete.
Giorgos was born in Athens in 1988. From an early age he discovered yoga and was initiated in yoga principles, techniques, and philosophy. After adulthood, he attended yoga classes at Satyananda center and self-knowledge seminars at Satyanandashram in Athens. He has been studying various techniques of modern dance and kinesiology of human body. He was trained in Vipassana meditation and other techniques of active and passive meditation. He teaches Vinyasa flow and anatomy in both Crete and various studios in Athens.
Yoga Alliance International (Ashtanga Yoga)
Natasa was born in Heraklion Crete, Greece. She has studied glassblowing and fine art in Sweden and in England. She practices yoga since 2002, working on both Hatha and Ashtanga yoga systems. She has first and second grade in Reiki system. Since 2002, Natasa has participated in several self -development seminars and has been trained in energy healing as well as in therapeutic Thai massage. She has received teachers training in Ashtanga yoga and she is a certified teacher in Hatha Yoga. Natasa is studying the principles of ancient Indian philosophy and the therapeutic power of yoga.
Yoga Alliance International (Hatha Yoga)
George was born in 1987 in Heraklion Crete, Greece. He became familiar with yoga in 2010, when he started his yoga journey. Furthermore, he has attained several Kundalini and Ashtanga yoga seminars, although his practice is mainly based on the philosophy of Hatha yoga. In 2013, he successfully completed his yoga teacher’s training course, thus he became a certified member of the Yoga Alliance International and has been teaching since then. Moreover, he has been trained in therapeutic Thai massage techniques and has become acquainted with Acro yoga by taking courses while his stay in India.
This yoga teacher training will take place in Lentas, Crete, Greece. Visiting the Minoan civilization in Crete, you will have the opportunity to meet the Indian culture, studying yoga while enjoying the Mediterranean landscape and the beautiful Cretan beaches. Lentas is a small historical fishing village of the southern part of Crete in prefecture of Heraklio. Lentas village hosts the ancient temple of Asclepius God, a temple from the 5th century B.C.
During the Minoan period, Lentas was an important port, known as Levin. Lentas (means lion in Greek language) owes its name to the magisterial rock in the western side of Lentas bay, which looks like a sitting lion. According to the Egyptian symbolization, the lion indicates the cosmic law. From the huge windows of the yoga hall you can face the immense Libyan sea and the elephant rock Ganesha. In Indian tradition God Ganesha is worshiped as the god of education, knowledge, wisdom, and wealth or known as lord of success.
Three daily vegetarian meals are included in the price. The food is organically produced, from the local gardens, well-cooked according to Mediterranean diet and is served with all the vitamins. Please let Yoga Retreats Crete-Greece know if you have any food allergy.
Please book your flights to Heraklion International Airport (HER). From Heraklion airport it is about one hour route to reach the retreat center. You can catch the local bus from Heraklion to Lentas village (bus ticket costs less than 10 EUR) or Yoga Retreats Crete-Greece can arrange a shared taxi for you at about 30 EUR per person.
