"Relaxing, Renewing, with a touch of island Exploring."

The yoga on the beach, the food, the locale next to the beach resort. The way Mariëlla takes care of everything, and her connection with the local community.

Zia the little village up in the mountains is a gem. The people from the our group to the locals. Really is the perfect combo of eating and drinking, yoga, relaxing, hiking, cycling, beach time, thermal spring visit, rural and urban split.

"A healing place "

I loved everything about this retreat. A perfect amount of structured activities (yoga and hiking) and exceptional recommendations for lunch and other activities. The yoga instructor was excellent and she guided the class with skill and loving kindness. All of my needs were met tenfold. I felt well cared. The vegetarian meals were exceptional. Accommodations were very comfortable and the walk to the beach took no more than a minute.

"Just what we needed!"

The people really made this a special experience , Mariëlla, Adriana, Nicoline, Tamara, Eleani - the list goes on. We loved that you could join in with as much or as little as you wanted to. I loved seeing a different side to Kos, the Thermal Beach was a truly special experience, particularly as we attended on a full moon. The deep tissue massage was also amazing. All of the recommendations from Mariëlla were great, and a visit to Ampeli is a must. As a beginner I found the Yoga on this trip relaxing with just enough challenges. It may be a slightly more relaxed style than some people were expecting, but definitely perfect for the tone of this retreat. Bike hire is definitely recommended to get around. The grounds are lovely and well tended. The food far exceeded my expectations, Nicoline’s first time catering for groups but I would happily steal every recipe she made during our stay. It was lovely coming together as a group in the evening, sharing stories, experiences, wine and Mastiha!!

"Brilliant Experience- well worth doing ;)"

Overall it was a really fun, relaxing experience in a beautiful setting. The garden is so pretty, and morning yoga is a great way to start the day followed by wholesome breakfast in the sun. Plenty of beaches nearby to visit and it’s well worth renting a bike for the week.

The food was always great and the staff are amazing. There is no pressure to follow day routines like other retreats. My group was a great mix of people from so many different countries but everyone was very like minded and we all got on. The week went by so fast. I would highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking for a relaxing break to re-charge the batteries and have some reflective time.

"Yoga on Kos"

I loved my week at yoga on Kos. The accomodation was such good value for money with my own private bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and balcony. The whole week was so well organised by Mariëlla, I felt really well taken care of as a solo traveller and made lots of international friends. The yoga in the garden and on the beach was so relaxing and the hikes were led by our local guide who showed us which herbs grew wild in the mountains and amazing views. Special treats were the evening trip to the natural thermal springs and the day trip on a boat to the island of Nysiros. We hired bikes to have our own transport round the island and cycled most days to relax and swim on a pretty beach 5km from the yoga retreat. It certainly was an active holiday. Eating fresh greek vegetarian food al fresco in the garden each morning and evening completed the holiday vibe and also gave us a chance to test local cuisine for lunch. I felt really re energised and relaxed by the end of the week and would happily go back.

"Yoga and Hiking - not a stroll in the park! :)"

We celebrated our wedding anniversary on Kos. This retreat went beyond our expectations. This was our first retreat outside of Canada.

Mariella is a fabulous hostess. The day began with a fruit smoothie, followed by yoga on the lawn. Mareja adapted the yoga to the group's abilities.

During free time, we would bike along the water front, into Kostown, to Ampeli (winery) or just exploring. We usually ended up either on the beach or the adjacent hotel pool. We would return to the retreat around 5 p.m. Evening activities were either yin yoga (on the lawn or the beach), visiting the hot spring or hiking. Hiking is not a stroll in the park. The hikes were up into the mountains. We were rewarded with breath-taking views of Kos, the sea and Turkey (in the distant). Evening meals were delicious, freshly made by a local chef.

"Wish we could have stayed longer!"

From beginning to end, we couldn't have asked for a better week, from Mariella's great and flexible organisation skill to wonderful yoga classes, lovely food and excursions. The houses were simple but spotless and decorated with a lot of attention to detail. We loved being in the quiet and relaxed garden, right at the beach, but an easy bike ride away from many options to eat and explore. We are city girls and full-time travellers who never really do a "beach/island" type of holiday, but Mariella hit even our sweet spot, largely because of how easy going, unforced and familiar it all felt. Yoga-wise, both teachers were very attentive to student's needs and everybody enjoyed the classes a lot, despite very different levels of experience.

Mariella clearly wanted us all to enjoy this holiday and went out of her way to make this happen. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

In the morning we started with yoga in the garden or on the beach with Eva who was clearly a very experienced yoga practitioner and a friendly and relaxed teacher.

Daytime we mostly had the time to do what we wanted to which meant relaxing, sightseeing in Kos or the surrounding villages, cycling to little tavernas for lunch, swimming in the sea, having a massage in the garden or strolling along the beach.

In the early evenings, we visited little chapels and old villages, the flamingos on the lake, the Turkish village and bathed in the hot springs.

The food was a real joy, not only because it was very delicious and seemed quite healthy, but also that it was authentically Greek.

The place itself is located right on the beach which is ideal but has it's own courtyard with hammocks and 'break out' areas to sit in. It is, as it says, near to Kos itself. It is near enough to be easily accessible by bicycle, bus, or even a walk along the coast. It is far enough to be a more tranquil oasis from busy Kos centre.

However, if you're looking for typical tourist accommodation then this isn't really that. It is a little more rustic and charming. The apartments are spacious and the beds comfortable, not quite so modern as most tourist apartments, but each with a little covered seating area looking over the main grass courtyard. I think we were all glad that the whole experience wasn't anything like a 'package' type holiday

One of the things we all enjoyed was the attached farmyard where it was almost a meditation in it's own right watching the goats and cows etc. wandering in the fields. Then there were the two bouncy dogs and more laid back cat.

"Time to take a deep breath"

Set up around a garden courtyard, there is enough space to either spend time reading/relaxing or immersing yourself with the group. The food was excellent. The 1 hike which I participated in was really nice and good for all levels (higher difficulty would have been fine with me but not all others in the group). Learned much in the yoga classes! Really recommend to book the reflexology as an add on - the British lady did wonders!

"Heerlijke week bij Yoga op Kos"

Een week heerlijk tot rust gekomen. Hele leuke locatie, dicht bij het strand en met een fietsje is het heerlijk om naar Kos of een taverne te fietsen. Langs het strand of tussen de olijfboomgaarden door. De yoga lessen waren fantastisch. Panagiotta sluit haar lessen goed aan op het niveau van de deelnemers. Ik ben zelf een beginner en heb ontzettend veel geleerd. Meditatie op het strand was het hoogtepunt van deze week voor mij. Heerlijk om het eiland ook wandelend te verkennen. Een ideale combinatie.

"An oasis of calmness"

I found the whole experience enjoyable, in Ireland we say 'Cead Mile Failte' (a hundred thousand welcomes) I genuinely felt that and more. So it would be hard to pick a specific highlight, the location is perfect for yoga with the option of practicing on the beach, twice daily yoga sessions that were both challenging and open to mixed levels of experience, massage therapy, great food (not one complaint was heard) thermal spring visit, sunset/sunrise meditation and the most wonderful team who made it all happen.

Everything on this break was blissful and soothes the mind and soul. From amazing host Mariella, whose vision is what creates the space to rest, have fun and enjoy. Nothing was too much (smiling at a 2am arrival?!), and a true passion for people and animals alike!

Eleni teaches yoga with élégance and grace and thoughtfulnes. I learned lots of new things, particularly on alignment. Loved discovering something new each session and the mediations were super relaxing.

Kos is lovely, not too touristy and there is lots to do if lying on a beach is not what you want to do.

Alle mitarbeiter waren sehr bemüht, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die yogastunden im garten und am meer waren ein wirkliches erlebnis! Die gesamte anlage war liebevoll hergerichtet und die zimmer bei der ankunft mit blumen dekoriert. Die einzelnen bungalows bieten privatsphäre und der garten ist traumhaft schön. blumen, sofas und hängematten laden zum entspannen ein. Man hatte tagsüber zeit für private ausflüge! De hele week in Kos was een topervaring! De mooie grote tuin zorgt voor een omgeving van rust en is ideaal voor een les yoga. Mariëlle is een ontzettend lieve dame waarbij je terecht kan met al je vragen. Met plezier geeft ze extra tips over activiteiten of plaatsen op het eiland. De afwisseling tussen vinyasayoga in de ochtend en yinyoga ‘s avonds was zeer aangenaam. De docente Marja, ook een ontzettend lieve en enthousiaste dame, gaf steeds verschillende opties bij de poses zodat iedereen zelf de keuze kon maken. Tenslotte, het eten. Ge-wel-dig. "Wat een heerlijke en bijzondere week bij yoga op Kos."

De accommodatie is zo ontzettend relaxed. Je kan de zee horen ruisen. De organisatie (Mariella) is hartelijk, klantvriendelijk en betrokken. De yogalessen waren erg goed. De docente (Eleni) is een supertalent en een bijzonder mooi mens. De creatieve workshops ( bij Anastasia) waren zeer inspirerend en een absolute meerwaarde. Kortom, het was een perfecte week om heerlijk te genieten.

Yoga op Kos

Heerlijke yogaweek op Kos bij Mariëlla. Eva geeft Hathayoga voor alle niveau's. Wandelen, fietsen, luieren, lekker eten, fijne huisjes, grote tuin, dichtbij de zee en nog veel meer. Niks moet, alles mag. Een aanrader!

It was a fantastic yoga week on Kos. Eva teaches Hatha yoga for all levels. Go for walks or bike rides and relax, enjoy the delicious food, the nice cottages, the big garden, being close to the sea and much more. Do whatever you want to. An absolute must go!


Yoga op Kos

Wat een vakantie!! Na lang zoeken naar een geschikte retraite die bij mij zou passen kwam ik uiteindelijk terecht bij Yoga on Kos. Ik koos voor de combinatie van yoga en hiking. Een toffe groep in een zeer rustgevende omgeving met een grote tuin en vlakbij de zee. Het geluid van de golven was dus dag en nacht aanwezig. Dagelijks superlekkere gevarieerde vegetarische maaltijden en een uitgebreid ontbijt. Alles werd zeer goed verzorgd door het keukenteam, op en top culinaire verwennerij! Er was ook lekkere koffie beschikbaar en 's avonds was het heerlijk om samen aan tafel te keuvelen in het gezelschap van de wijntjes en likeurtjes die we die dag ontdekt hadden ;-) De accomodatie is basic maar alles is aanwezig wat je nodig hebt. Elk huisje heeft een eigen terras waar je in alle rust kan genieten van een boek. Het huren van een fiets is zeker aan te raden. Op deze manier kom je het snelst bij de nabijgelegen authentieke Griekse tavernes waar je 's middags zeer lekker kan lunchen. Kos stad is ongeveer 25 minuten fietsen maar als je fietst langs het strand heb je een gezellige route. Gastvrouw Mariëlla is een geweldig leuke vrouw, geeft de nodige tips en tricks om het volledig naar je zin te maken en heeft voor elk probleempje onmiddellijk een gepaste oplossing. Niets is teveel. Bovendien is zij ook zeer begaan met dieren. Op het terrein is een zeer lief hondje aanwezig, eveneens vijf katten en enkele geitjes en kippen. Grote dierenvrienden komen dus hier ook zeker aan hun trekken :-) Yogalerares Panagiota geeft op een rustig tempo fijne lessen in de tuin én ook aan het strand. Het was een plezier om bij haar les te volgen. De hiking wandeltochten in de bergen waren best wel een uitdaging daar het net een hittegolf was maar ook hiervan heb ik genoten. Je bent tot niets verplicht, dus je wordt heerlijk vrij gelaten in je doen en laten. De trip naar de warmwaterbron en de heerlijke meditatie bij zonsondergang aan het magische Asklepion waren de absolute hoogtepunten, dus deze twee uitstapjes mag je echt niet missen want deze zijn onvergetelijk! Een ding staat vast, ik heb de juiste keuze gemaakt ..


Yoga op Kos

Wat een heerlijke week was dat, niets moeten en alles mogen.Het begon met een warm welkom van Mariella. Hele fijne hatha yogalessen gehad van Eva, wat een mooi mens is dat. Yoga op strand, tuin of in de natuur, het was er allemaal. Ga zeker een massage van Sakis nemen, je voelt je daarna als herboren! Het appartement was eenvoudig maar ruim en sfeervol, met uitkijk over de mooie tuin met citroenboom. De maaltijden waren een waar feestje, zo ontzettend smaakvol. Iedere dag was het weer een verrassing wat er geserveerd werd. Wat een lieve mensen werken er op het Country House.

Kos is een mooi eiland, met veel diversiteit. Met de fiets kun je een groot deel van het eiland bewonderen. De ontelbare strandjes heb je voor het uitzoeken. Ook hebben we een aantal mooie wandelingen gemaakt met Anastasia. Zo kregen we een hele andere kant van Kos te zien, zij weet precies de verborgen schoonheden van Kos te vinden.


Yoga op Kos

Een heerlijke ontspannen week met mooi weer, yoga en gezelligheid. Geweldig om even bij te komen uit de hectiek van het “normale leven” en helemaal mijn eigen plan te kunnen trekken; in de hangmat een boekje lezen of naar strand of stad op de fiets, alleen of met anderen uit de groep. Er is veel vrije tijd, en er zijn geen strikte voedingsrestricties (koffie en alcohol mag gewoon): een aanrader voor als je op zoek bent naar een gezellige en relaxte week ontspannen of naar een “light” yoga reis!
