Come and practice yoga in a magical venue on the unspoilt island of La Gomera. With spectacular landscape, enjoy practicing yoga surrounded by the view of the sea. Due to a unique set up at La Finca, you will also have an opportunity to join other optional activities, such as silent meditation, shamanic dance, or even more yoga classes. During the retreat, you will be accommodated in Finca Argayall. Finca Argayall is one of the best kept secrets of the Canary Islands. There is a selection of uniquely designed rooms.
The charming and comfortable garden huts are spacious and airy with a private seated area outside. They are set in the lush green gardens with the serene sounds of bird song and the sea.
The pyramid and A-frame rooms are both well-furnished little houses with a double bed in this paradise garden with a sitting space outside. The pyramid is ideal for a couple sharing, and the A-frame is perfect for single occupancy. All garden accommodation has plentiful shared bathroom facilities close by.
The terrace rooms with a garden view are quiet, comfortable, and prettily decorated with a shared shady veranda that overlooks the tropical gardens. Bathroom facilities are close by and shared.
The terrace rooms with a sea view have doors that open out onto a second shared veranda with stunning ocean views. These rooms have en-suite bathroom facilities. There are a very limited number of rooms for single occupancy.
Lisa will offer two sessions each day from the morning of October 29, 2017. The morning practice will be Slow Flow yoga to strengthen, stabilize, and stretch the body. This practice will include asana relaxation, pranayama, mantra, and meditation.
The evening session will be either be a Yin style or Restorative session allowing you to relax and renew on a deep level, this will often include yoga Nidra. Lisa threads a yogic theme throughout her week to deepen the practices. This could be delving a little into the sutras, learning about the koshas, understanding the chakras, working with prana or taking time to contemplate the nature of self. She encourages students to spend some quiet time each day giving you the opportunity to sit and reflect in the beautiful surroundings.
The holiday is suitable for all levels of ability. There will be one yoga free day. Please note that due to the unique set up at La Finca, you will also have an opportunity to join their own program should you so wish. This might include: silent meditation, shamanic dance, or even more yoga - a wonderful opportunity to open up and explore.
Lisa has been teaching yoga since 2001 and is regularly inspired by the profound positive effects of this ancient practice. Lisa strives to learn more and attends yearly workshops and training intensives with teachers from around the world. She is currently enrolled in intensive training with ParaYoga, which provides a living link to the ancient traditions of yoga, meditation, and tantra. Lisa weaves together Vinyasa Flow, ParaYoga, Restorative yoga, Sivananda yoga, and mindfulness to create a practice that allows you to have a deeper understanding of your self.
The retreat will take place in Finca Argayall, La Gomera. Finca Argayall is one of the best kept secrets of the Canary Islands. This magical venue on the unspoiled island of La Gomera, sits nestled in the cliffs in a secluded bay. With a spectacularly diverse landscape, the contrast of the rainforest, unspoiled beaches, and small fishing towns make a visit to this island a full and rich experience.
The venue itself runs as a community and welcomes others to experience and respect this beautiful and unique life. There is an organic farm, tropical gardens, a natural spring, two swimming pools, and the beach a few steps away.
You will be served daily organic vegetarian meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Apart from one evening when you can go into the nearby village to taste the culinary delights offered locally.
In the village you can book to go mountain biking, dolphin watching, and kayaking. There are plenty of walks on offer on this beautiful island, from traditional fishing villages to rain forests, banana plantations, and secluded sandy beaches.
Or you might just want to stay within the beauty of the venue itself, relaxing by one of the two pools or simply take a few steps onto the beach and go for a swim in the warm, blue sea. Treatments such as massage and homeopathy are also available at an additional cost.
It is best to arrive before midday if possible to take the afternoon ferry across to La Gomera. From the airport you will take a taxi to Los Cristianos ferry port, a 15-minute journey. From there you will take a ferry to the island of La Gomera. The ferry takes about 45 minutes and costs between 30 to 40 EUR. From San Sebastian, the group can take a taxi together direct to Finca Argayall or alternatively there is a bus.
