Vigla Village offers self catering apartments which are clean, spacious, and have air conditioning and private balconies with sea views. All apartments have between one and three bedrooms and share a bathroom, small lounge area, and kitchen facilities.

Perched high on a clifftop, the clean and comfortable apartments with private balconies, overlook the inspiring panorama. Just a short stroll away you can take the picturesque path down to Vigla's own private beach and the warm and inviting sea. Vigla Village simply blows you away; it's the sort of place that you want to come back to time after time.

Each day will begin with a flowing asana class on the wonderful yoga platform overlooking the endless blue ocean, opening the body and attuning the mind to the breath. Morning practice will be followed by a hearty breakfast. Then you will be free to head off down to the beach, relax by the pool, or explore the stunning beauty of the surroundings.

The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a second more restorative yoga session, often including pranayama and meditation as part of the practice. The classes will be suitable for all levels and yoga experience. There will be one yoga free day during the week.

    Maurizio has been practicing yoga in different forms since 2003 and completed his training as a Hatha yoga teacher at the Amrita School of Yoga in London. The results of his own practice and his seeking spirit have led him to believe that yoga has the power to transform people's desires, needs, and attitudes towards life into something magical of the utmost importance. Drawing on Ashtanga and Jivamukti yoga practices, Maurizio's teaching brings together a balance between yin and yang energies.

  • Rory Viggers

    Many years of yoga self-practice (and too much tea) has kept Rory grounded. As the positive and transformative effects of yoga deepened, the transition to teaching was a natural progression. He now shares his experience of self-empowerment, self-purpose and self-reflection that yoga initiates with others. His teaching is informed and inspired by classical teachings of Hatha yoga that include Iyengar, Ashtanga, Sivananda, Dona Holleman’s enlightened asana work and other disciplines such as Shaolin Wushu martial arts.

  • Ali Gilling

    Sharing the teachings of yoga and mindfulness is one of Ali’s greatest joys and devoted passion. She feels blessed to have had experienced many incredible teachers offering their wisdom and guidance over her 20 years practice. Since 1998, she trained as a yoga teacher exploring many different traditions of yoga including Sivananda, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, and Restorative. Completing a 10-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat, navigating the quiet inner space and concentrating the mind.

  • Morven Hamilton

    Morven’s first yoga class in 1996 was a turning point towards a transformation that has continued to unfold, much to her fascination and delight. Her training in Akhanda Yoga with Yogi Vishvketu has given her a strong background in traditional holistic Hatha yoga with lots of room for creative expression and fun. Morven’s training in mindfulness increasingly influences her teaching, making her yoga class an exploration of the depth and potential of the physical body and a way to “learn to surf” the waves of life. Morven loves to balance both dynamic and restorative yoga.

  • Lila Conway

    Lila is a certified Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and founder of Yoga Prema. She has been practicing yoga for 20 years, teaching full-time since 2001, received advanced level certification from Sivananda in 2004 and in 2007 was given the blessing to teach yoga teachers as a principal teacher within the Sivananda Yoga Organisation. Lila has spent the best part of eight years living in yoga ashrams and centres in India and Canada, being fully immersed in a yogic life of service, study, practice, and teaching yoga to students from across the world.

  • David Olton

    David is one of the yoga teachers on Sky’s fitness TV channel. He has trained in many different styles of yoga and movement including Sivananda, Ashtanga, Somatics, Pilates, and contemporary dance. His classes offer an eclectic fusion of these styles. He has taught all over the world and is a fun and encouraging teacher, popular with beginners and more intermediate students. David’s primary focus in his classes is on sensory and breath awareness, pranayama, and meditation in motion.

The first thing to strike you about Vigla Village is it's sublime location on the Ionian Coast of the Greek island of Kefalonia. It's a feast for the senses as you take in the intoxicating smell of the pine and eucalyptus trees and the crystal clear, deep blue of the Ionian sea. Coupled with the welcoming and open-hearted Greek hospitality of Anna and Angelos, you cannot help but begin to relax as soon as you arrive.

In the evenings, there are a few charming traditional Greek tavernas within walking distance of Vigla. Lunch and dinner aren't included in the cost to give people the option to go for dinner as a group or self cater if they prefer, each apartment has a small kitchen.

One could quite easily relax while away a week of deep rest and rejuvenation here, enjoying the wonderful private beach, swimming pool, and tennis courts on offer. There's also plenty of space at Vigla Village to find a quiet spot in the shade of the trees, enjoying the colors and fragrance of the beautiful flowers. The local village, Spartia, also has its' own pretty beach just a 10 minute walk away and a small center with a couple of shops and a restaurant.

For those of you with an adventurous spirit, you could hire a car to explore the outstanding beauty of this island. Caves, boat trips, snorkeling, fishing, trips to stunning local villages, and a visit to Myrtos, known to be one of the world's most beautiful beaches, are amongst some of the many things on offer in Kefalonia.

There are a range of direct flights from Europe. It is also possible to take an indirect flight via the Greek mainland. Airport transfers will be arranged for you. The price will depend on numbers sharing the cost and time of arrival. There are a few airlines that fly to Kefalonia directly and it is also possible to take an internal flight from the Greek mainland.
