Join Ingela Abbott for a yoga, hiking, and biking adventure in the unique magical island of Bali. Hike through mountain villages to hidden waterfalls and temples. Climb to the top of a 5,000 feet volcano to watch the sunrise. Bike from the foot of 6,000 feet Mount Batukaru down to the sea past rice paddies, gardens, and smiling villagers. And, of course, practice yoga in a peaceful and sacred environment. This retreat will be an experience of a lifetime!
The accommodations in Bali Eco Stay gives you a chance to fall asleep to the sound of water tumbling into a fresh mountain stream, surrounded by nature, with views of the waterfall, forest and beyond. It provides easy access to your private en suite bathroom inside the bungalow. There are two queen beds plus two single beds, all with mosquito nets. There's an extra private relaxation area downstairs. After enjoying everything that Bali Eco Stay can offer, you will be travelling to the next retreat center, Soulshine. It is a boutique hotel and yoga retreat oasis.
In Soulshine, the exquisitely designed main building and grounds hosts a river, tropical gardens, and several ornate ponds with accommodation up to 25 people. It is perfect for intimate retreats or family and group vacations. After your yoga practice, enjoy a refreshing dip in the infinity pool and pick fresh fruit from an abundance of mango, jackfruit, banana, mangosteen, rambutan, papaya, and coconut trees.
Villa Boreh is the last yoga retreat center that you will enjoy. It is located on the north east coast of Bali, in the village of Sembiran, between Singaraja and Amed. It is an area of distinct significance to Bali, in that Hinduism arrived here via the shores of the north east coast, what is now known as the regency of Tejakula. This area boasts the oldest and some of the most important temples in Bali, not to mention has some fantastic hidden gems not written about in any guide books.
It has an open air pavilion for yoga, dance, meditation, and group activities. It has four adjoining bedrooms with en suite in the seminar building. The seminar area is in a contained space and can be closed up for privacy. It’s ideal for group activities and also for groups of friends and families, wanting to have their own space.
In this retreat, you will have two to four hour long daily yoga classes. On some days, you will have a longer morning session and no evening class, and on the other days, no morning session but a longer afternoon session. On average days, you will do three hours of yoga a day.
Everybody is welcome to join this adventure retreat. You should at least have a minimum of three months practice from any yoga tradition, without any injuries, and can bike and hike comfortably for three to four hours with an open mind and heart ready for an experience of a lifetime.
During the first three days, the group will be staying at Bali Eco Stay. The activities will be guided hiking, biking, and yoga. There will also be plenty of time to swim in the natural streams and waterfalls nearby, get a massage, or relax with a book at this peaceful mountain retreat.
In the next four days, the group will be staying at Hotel Soulshine located a few miles outside of Ubud. The activities will be yoga sessions in a well-equipped pavilion, excursions, and explorations. The group will visit the sacred Monkey Forest, spend an evening watching a Kechak fire trance dance, and give you time to explore the hundreds of art stores in Ubud or just relax by the pool with a refreshing drink.
On the last four days of the retreat, the group will be staying at Villa Boreh, a tropical paradise nestled in a quiet fishing village in the north of Bali. The activities will be yoga sessions, hiking, and trekking. At Villa Boreh, the group will be offered a complimentary one hour massage in their exclusive spa with oils made locally from the palm trees in the garden. There are other activities that are not included, but are available if you would like extra adventure.
Return to the airport in Denpasar to fly home or can join Ingela to Gili Air, for an extra four-day vacation.
