Bowspring yoga

Bowspring yoga is an antidote to the health issues arising from the modern stressful and sedentary lifestyle. By practicing Bowspring yoga, you will eliminate corporal malposture and cope physical and emotional challenges in your everyday life with greater ease. The entire myo-fascial system (muscles and connective tissue) learns to work together and gets evenly toned. This makes for better control and maximum functionality. The breath can move freely without inhibition bringing a new level of vitality and energetic freedom.

In addition, Bowspring yoga uplifts your mood, increases your mindfulness, and gives you a friendly and compassionate attitude towards yourself, other earthlings and your environment. Through Bowspring yoga you can reprogram your nervous system's autopilot, which keeps you stuck in debilitating patterns of fear, sadness, and lack.

What makes Bowsrping yoga so special is that yoga has always been subject to changes. Traditional Hatha yoga (i.e. the general physical form of yoga) is only new a handful of asanas (postures). Most of modern day yoga asanas were developed in the India of the of the 19th / 20th centuries under the influence of the British occupation. It therefore adopted a military and western affected posture which has continued in almost all yoga styles until today (look e.g. at Tadasana, the standing pose, which recalls a standing soldier).

In Bowspring yoga, you maintain the essence of Hatha yoga. This means the meditative condition, the slowed down and conscious breathing, the mindful way of moving and the full use of the physical range of motioribcage that is open to all sides. Elisa has been practicing yoga intensively for ten years. The asanas of Bowspring yoga match her intuitive body sensation. Elisa teaches her students powerful smoothness, mindfulness, and dance-like lightness.
Pawel Gnosdorf
(Yoga)
Pawel has been practicing yoga for over fifteen years and has been a Bowspring teacher from the very beginning. As an Osteopath and Physiotherapist, he uses his fundamental anatomic and physiologic knowledge for an exact alignment of his yoga students. Pawel’s classes excel by his unique humor which carries his students through the most challenging asanas.

Retreat location

Located in the village of Sao Lourenco, Portugal, you will be in the middle of the protected World Serve Reserve atop the beautiful wild coast of Portugal. The São Lourenço Beach is the very spot where the Ericeira World Surf Reserve starts, and it was the first beach in the region to get a Blue Flag certificating its high environmental and quality standards. The next eight kilometers southwards are full of lovely sand and world-class waves, not only perfect for surfing and walks along the cliffs, but also ideal for relaxing. The nearby picturesque fishing village Ericeira is perfect for a stroll through its vital streets and a drink in its lovely cafés.
