Retreats at Yoga Najac are an opportunity to nurture yourself with gentle yoga and meditation, delicious organic vegetarian food and wonderful walks in nature. A chance to deepen your awareness by learning mindfulness practices to take off the mat and into daily life. Small groups of up to 6 people ensure retreats will be very much tailor-made to the participants present (If the dates listed are not suitable please contact me to create your own BESPOKE RETREAT with a minimum of 2 people for 3 nights). Guests are welcome to arrive earlier and leave later than the start/end date for 50 EUR per night B&B.

All accommodation is in lovely private rooms. There are 3 rooms on site at Yoga Najac with south facing views overlooking the forest (1 with ensuite bathroom, 2 with shared bathroom and separate toilet). The other 3 rooms all have ensuite bathrooms and are 5 minutes walk away in central Najac with friends who run a B&B. Most rooms have a double bed and all rooms have lovely views and central heating.

Program

Retreat begins with afternoon session on arrival day around 16.00 and ends after brunch on the final day at 12.00.

Daily schedule

  • 08:00 Meditation
  • 08:30 - 10:00 Gentle Hatha yoga incorporating the 8 attitudes of mindfulness: acceptance, non-judgment, non-striving, equanimity, beginner’s mind, letting be, self-reliance, and self-compassion
  • 10:30 Brunch - homemade granola, homemade bread & jams, eggs, porridge, yogurt, fruit, home-pressed apple juice and a variety of tea
  • Mealtimes will be used as opportunities to practice mindfulness.
  • Lunch will be a picnic to take out on a hike or hot soup to have at home if the weather is cold.
  • Afternoons are free time to spend as you wish: beautiful walks from the doorstep through woodland or along the Aveyron river gorge; relaxing in a hammock or by the pool; exploring medieval Najac; swimming or canoeing down the river in summer; having a massage; reading by the fire in winter.
  • There will be at least one silent walk guided by Lucy. Retreatants may also have an Alexander Technique lesson with Lucy or a massage with Sarah Olley.
  • 17:00 - 19.00 Relaxing yoga - Yin, Restorative, and Nidra
  • 19:30 Supper
  • 21:00 Campfire and / or meditation

Yoga Najac is situated on the edge of the village with south facing views overlooking the ancient oak and chestnut forest. Medieval Najac is classed as "one of France's most beautiful villages" with a 12th-century fortress perched on a hilltop above the Aveyron river gorge. It is a fabulous location with the peace and quiet of the countryside and yet only 5 minutes walk to the center of Najac where you will find shops and cafes. There's a variety of wonderful walks from our doorstep and all within one and a half hours of Toulouse airport.

Food

All food is organic vegetarian made from locally produced ingredients. Lucy has been a vegetarian all her adult life and is a keen organic gardener. Menus will be healthy and delicious with a minimum amount of wheat and dairy to encourage a gentle detox. Menus will follow Ayurvedic principles. Vegan and/or gluten free on request.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by airplane

Flights to Toulouse from many UK airports with Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2. Airport shuttle to train station every 20 minutes and takes 30 minutes (8 EUR). Tram from airport to metro then train station similar times (2 EUR). There is also British Airways and Flybe.

Train from Toulouse to Najac takes 1.5 hrs and costs either 10 or 19 EUR each way depending on the time of travel. Beautiful journey along the Aveyron river valley.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
