Join this retreat to experience a Mayan-inspired yoga holiday, enjoying the luxury of a 13th century mansion! This program is inspired by the Mayan traditions, especially the sacred vision of the sun cycles through equinoxes and solstices as observed in the Mayan rituals and architecture. During this retreat, you will stay either in a shared or a private room. The mansion was built in the 13th century and has been owned by the same family ever since. The venue is filled with history, but has also been renovated and modernized.

The mansion features seven double rooms with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms, a medieval kitchen, a dining room, community spaces, a large terrace, a pool, an outdoor patio, and a gorgeous and historic yoga room. Due to the design of the mansion, you will have the opportunity to enjoy space alone to relax and recharge or share your free time with others in the group.

During this retreat, you will experience a Mayan-inspired ceremony and a moving and heart-touching ritual performed to ground an intention and to ask for the blessings provided by the spirits of the four directions, to continue coming. In return, seeds, fruits, flowers, words, and practices will be your offerings.

The retreat will close with a beautiful Tantric meditation circle where the sense of community and recognition of the light you carry and share with each other will make its presence.

Yoga classes

The yoga practices during this retreat will follow and breakdown the concepts of the ceremony, using Eastern traditions such as yoga, meditation, martial and healing arts, and other practices to reinforce the integration of the concepts right where these ancient cultures merge. In general, the morning yoga class will be more energizing and vigorous, while the afternoon yoga classes will be more restorative and gentle.

The lead instructor, Victor Varana, comes from a diverse background of martial arts, Kundalini, Hatha, Power, and other yoga styles, all of which influence his teaching style. The classes are appropriate for all levels of yoga practitioners. In addition, yoga Nidra classes will be held. All classes end with a sound healing, drumming, and throat singing savasana.

    Victor has been a practitioner since his early childhood, and he has thousands of hours of teaching experience in Tulum, one of the most important yoga destinations in the world. Victor will bring to this training his experience of teaching to yogis from all ages, body conditions and practice levels in the same classroom, while still being able to give everyone the challenge they need. Come learn from him!

This retreat will be held in a 13th century renovated mansion in Mallorca, Spain. Mallorca has a 550-kilometer coastline with a variety of small, hidden bays and vast stretches of virgin beaches with a Caribbean-like style. There are almost 200 beaches altogether. The Mediterranean climate makes the island particularly attractive in all seasons. Mallorca has a long historic past, and thus, the great number of impressive buildings and architecture of interest.

The rich cultural history has left many remarkable sights to explore, such as castles, ruins, monasteries, grand manor houses, and gardens. The stunning scenery is ideal for enjoying outdoor pursuits. You can find protected natural parks all over Mallorca topped by the Serra de Tramuntana, which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Mallorca is known by Spaniards as “La Isla de la Calma” which refers to its relaxed atmosphere.

During this retreat, you will be served one daily brunch and one three-course dinner. All meals are vegetarian with option for vegans and made by a local chef using fresh ingredients.

Walking and hiking are popular activities as well as cycling, which is really massive in Mallorca, as it is a well-established destination for professional road cycling teams. The island also attracts golfers of all levels with its around 20 golf courses.

The surrounding seas offer great possibilities for sailing as it hosts many international regattas each year. Scuba divers can choose between a wide variety of national parks and other amazing diving spots all around the island and also optional excursion can be arranged on request.

During this retreat, 60-minute Thai massages can be scheduled with Victor Varana for an additional cost.

    "The fact that I am writing this testimonial over a year after I have been on a yoga retreat with Victor in Tulum is a testimonial in and of itself. The fact that I am taking the time in a very busy moment in my life is an additional testimonial to Victor's awesomeness. Would I write this testimonial two years after the retreat, it would still be as enthusiastic as I felt leaving Tulum two summers ago. Tulum has changed my life before, but somehow Victor always seems to play a role in it. I can feel his heart smile while I am sitting here writing about his retreat, in a far away country, way after our last encounter.     "I came here after researching remote beach resorts and seeing that they offered yoga, healthy food, and no TV or Internet. I was in desperate need to relax and recharge. Maya Tulum exceeded all of my expectations. Tulum is spectacularly beautiful and there is an indescribably strong and peaceful energy here. The yoga is challenging and the teacher really passionate. Tania and Victor are standout instructors who are excellent at both the yoga and meditation. The food is amazing. Not a single bad meal. Fish tacos, veg sandwich, guajillo fish and granola are my favorites but honestly it's all so good, fresh and filling. Don't let the vegetarian thing fool you the food is so satisfying."

    "I went to 3 a.m. yoga classes (two with Maria, one with Victor). The yoga studio is beautiful. One large room, lots of windows, ceiling fans, and well-stocked with mats, blankets, small towels, blocks, antiseptic spray, and drinking water. In fact, I've never been to a nicer studio. The practice was really nice, very professional, and restful and challenging at the same time. Neither Maria nor Victor take themselves too seriously - they were light hearted and calm and made me feel very comfortable. They both spent time checking postures and assisting students with their poses. I wish I could transport them and the studio here to Las Vegas!"
