Shelley Williams has been an active student, practitioner, and teacher of mindful movement in the south bay community for over 15 years. She discovered her love of movement, however, long before that as a competitive teen gymnast, which then opened the door to the world of contemporary dance and professional modern dance performance. In 1996, Shelley was fortunate to find yoga and Pilates as a healing addition and alternative to the rigors of training and performance. Since then, yoga has provided her with more than a moving expression of meditation; it has become a way of life.
The Osa Peninsula is one of the most beautiful, wild, bio-diverse places on the planet. It is literally at the end of the road, off the pavement, off the grid, and about an hour’s car ride away from the nearest town, which means you step directly into nature at her fines without the swarm of crowds, lines of people, or fences to keep you separate from your own intimate experience with nature.
Here, you will find secret waterfalls cascading out of rocks into refreshing, naturally formed swimming pools. You can hike through the jungle out to the exposed, south facing coast and soak in ancient tide pool bathtubs filled with warm saltwater, right at the ocean’s edge.
You can also sway in a hammock, sipping fresh “pipa” (young coconut water) and watch all four species of Central American monkeys play in the trees, spy countless species of exotic birds, observe crazy amounts of colorful insects and majestic reptiles, and if you are lucky, perhaps spot a jungle cat.
3 deliciously artistic meals featuring organic exotic fruits, vegetables, fresh caught fish, home-baked breads, and local recipes.
