Yoga Maya is a Yoga Alliance approved school, specialized in yoga teacher trainings. You will enjoy taking your yoga to a level where you can teach, and teach well. You will enjoy your stay at Villas Sayulita. There are a few private suites and some shared. A pool to keep you cool, and A/C. There is also a kitchenette for your convenience and a smoothie bar if you'd love that Abraham makes your breakfast smooties and coffee for you. Yoga Maya teacher training school offers a certification in the Vinyasa, Yin and Hatha disciplines of yoga. You really receive three trainings in one! Sequencing is the fundamental principle of your training. It's what you need to learn how to teach creative classes. Though rooted in tradition, Yoga Maya understands yoga is for most of you a physical practice. This practice needs to be creative to keep your students returning to the mat. They offer mudra, mantra, pranayama, and many other ayurvedic trainings. It's not just all about the asana. Yoga is so much more than the pose.

Yoga Maya tries to adhere to the schedule, sometimes they add and or subtract certain trainings. This depends on the group, their needs, and also the teachers you have with you at each particular training. Sometimes a little Acro yoga is added and sometimes more Ayurveda.

Usually you will train approximately 9-10 hours a day for 18-20 days (to achieve the needed 180 contact hours / 200 total hours). You will be starting around 07:30 with many breaks. You will have lunch for two hours and return for a gentler finish to the day. Sometimes you will have classes in or by the pool, garden, or beach.

The yoga teacher training is designed for maximum learning in the funniest way possible. Enabling a stress-free environment, the combination of modern and traditional yoga studies brings a unique and action packed 200-hour certification.

You will be ready to teach when you leave, have no worries about that! You will not only be given some prerequisite work to do before you arrive, but you will get more than twice the teaching practicum hours than most schools. Assisting you to become the best and most unique teacher you can be is a number one priority.

Please note that classes will begin on November 15, 2016 at 07:30.

Yoga Maya can accommodate the students the night before - November 14, 2016 and they can check out December 7, 2016.

The training usually has multiple teachers so that you can see how different people take the same information, and use it to their unique teaching skills, and utilize their own yogic abilities and personalities.

Debbie Krejci

After several injuries, Debbie turned to yoga and Pilates for more rehabilitation after all else had failed and found that they offered what was needed to heal and strengthen her body. Gaining her ERYT-200 signifies Debbie's commitment to yoga. Debbie's experience, light-hearted approach, and clear instruction enable students of all levels to find ease and joy in their practice of yoga.

Debbie also holds certifications in pilates, personal training, and Thai massage. She specializes in a gentle(ish) Vinyasa and Yin yoga. Make no mistake, her power classes are a force to be reckoned with! Believing that yoga can and should be fun, her classes leave you feeling oh so happy you came.

As a former firefighter, paramedic, and marathon runner, Debbie will challenge you to see your limitations as simply plateaus in disguise. All the while understanding the subtle differences happening in your body during and after your yoga practice. What a gift that awareness of body is.

Jayne Coote

Jayne's teaching philosophy is to make yoga available to everyone from beginner to advanced levels. "Every body" can do yoga, yoga on a mat, a chair, and even lying down!

With more awareness in our body you can be more mindful of your everyday habits and become a better you! Jayne works on steady flows that get you working on strength, balance, and flexibility with pranayama and meditation in each class.

In every class Jayne will help you improve you fitness, flexibility, strengthen your bones, and help you to relax! She teaches Vinyasa and Power yoga wherever in the world she travels and you will probably see her down dog on every landmark that she visits!

Willis Johnson

An Oklahoma native, Willis has made cities such as New York and Las Vegas his home, performing as a dancer at the Metropolitan Opera and Cirque du Soleil. Through the stressful and sometimes painful life as a dancer, Willis found yoga to be the most beneficial compliment, both mentally and physically, to dance. His relationship with yoga has since deepened throughout his years of practice.

Willis believes whole heartedly in yoga’s transformative nature, and respects the power that yoga possesses to keep one grounded, focused, accountable, and aware of even the smallest moments on and off the mat. He has been practicing for eight years.

Willis believes that you can learn a lot about yourself and others by regularly coming to your mat, thus contributing to the greater good via awareness, compassion, patience, and the list goes on. His teaching style is fun and creative with great focus on the movement and breath connection.

To Willis, transitions can be just as important as the postures, so prepare to feel the beauty in the “in betweens” - for life is about the journey and not the destination. Come flow, feel, and go deeper into your own yoga practice in a supportive environment with some rockin’ jams and an inspirational vibe. Hootie-hoo!

Alicia Huet

Born and raised in Puerto Vallarta, Alicia has almost six years practicing yoga and every day she discovers a new possibility in practice, it is why is called practice; it is endless. Every day you work different levels in the body, mind, and soul.

Alicia believes that yoga can help you connect with yourself on a physical, mental, and spiritual level by listening to your body; feeling the flow of the prana you can discover the rhythm within you. She loves to make the classes fun and dynamic for all levels.

By being present in the now, the rest of the world disappears and you become one with yourself. This practice reminds you that you are part of something much greater that yourselves.
