Angela Sykes

Angela started her journey into health and yoga while living in Japan and deepened her practice by living in India. She set up Kula to grow a like-minded yoga community in Leeds. Angela wants to create a ripple effect in people's lives - helping others to live in a positive way and influence those around them. She combines a fusion of east and west, encouraging students to embrace a spirit of acceptance for what ‘is’ in the present moment and to let go of ego. She seeks to help others bloom in life by nurturing body, mind and soul.

Catharine Rosenthall

British Wheel of Yoga (Yoga)

Catharine discovered yoga in her early 20’s after attending class with her mother. Yoga has influenced her life on every level since and the decision to become a yoga teacher was a massive turning point in her life. Catharine's classes involve a balance of effort and surrender. The emphasis is always on listening to the breath and constantly listening to the body, to ultimately find steadiness and calmness of the mind.

I had a such a lovely first visit to Yoga Kula today for the Graham Burns workshop. What a peaceful, cozy and beautiful space you have created. And so many friendly faces too. Thank you so much.

Blissful yoga studio with really warm genuine team members! I have been going regularly to the pregnancy yoga class and it has helped enormously with my aches and pains but also instilled confidence in my ability to handle labor and reduced all fears.

After an awful experience at another studio in Leeds (which was unbearably hot and alternatives were demonstrated for less experienced students) it was so lovely to come to a class today at Kula and feel that my yoga can develop without the need to 'feel the burn.' I love the friendly atmosphere at Kula and the effort and kindness that the teachers show their students. I look forward to many more classes in this really special place. Thank you.
