During this yoga retreat, you will be accommodated at a hotel for 2 nights and camp for other 2 nights. Your camp ground, located in the heart of the Gennargentu Mountains, is a peaceful place that is completely isolated. There are no roads, no Wi-Fi, no phone signal, no mod-cons. All the things that you will see are just nature, fresh air, spring water, and peace. This is for people who want to experience a complete break from civilization, who enjoy or want to experience traditional camping and not “Glamping”. There is no hot water, no flushing toilets, just a basic outdoor cold water shower and a basic communal hole-in-the-ground toilet.

On the site, there are 2 “Pinetta”, traditional shepherd structures, a very basic toilet and a cold shower from the natural spring. You can either bring a tent or reserve a place in the Pinetta, which will be a communally shared space. There are no beds, no sheets or pillows and so you will need to bring a sleeping bag and any mats or cushions you may wish to sleep on for your own comfort.

During this retreat, there will be a range of meditation, yoga (Hatha, Kundalini, Gong, and Nidra), and hiking activities as well as periods set aside for silent reflection. You can enjoy sitting around the campfire in the evenings, chatting, singing kirtan, and chanting along with Tibetan singing bowls, gong, and other instruments. Your yoga Nidra classes will be with a small cooperative of different teachers.

You will arrive On Thursday with a transfer in the afternoon from Cagliari Elmas Airport (CAG) then you will be taken to a local hotel where you can get a warm shower, an evening meal, and relax.

On Friday morning at 09:30, the 4×4 vehicle will arrive at the hotel and you will be heading to the campsite in the heart of the Gennargentu mountains, set up camp, and begin the retreat activities.

On Sunday evening, you will return back down the mountain to the hotel where you stay the night and can again enjoy a warm shower. On Monday morning, you will head back down to Cagliari Elmas Airport (CAG) to connect with your flights back home.

Guests will need to speak either English or Italian. The retreat takes place on June 22nd, 2017 will be mostly English with Italian translation if required and the later retreat on July 20th, 2017 will be in Italian with English translation if required.

"Yes, it was really nice experience, we were 2 couples, have rented 2 apartments in Cardeddu and Alex came each morning on our terrasse for 2 hours of meditation, yoga, and relaxation. We have really enjoyed this retreat because each morning classes were differents, and we come back home with new keys for yoga meditation and mindfulness. Alex is very, patient and helpful for all the things to visit in the surroundings too. We highly recommended Alex for a yoga retreat and hope to experience another time with her, perhaps in Corsica, why not!!! Thanks you very much Alex."

"Alexandra Redmond is a very fine yoga teacher. Her lessons are intense, with a focus on postures that suit the participant best, good breathing, and spiritual balance. During Nidra yoga and mindfulness, her voice is a wonderful and unforgettable guide. What I also appreciate very much is that she teaches only small groups, even if the group consists of only one person, in this case only me! The location was terrific: a beautiful hotel, near a fine, not overcrowded beach, beautiful spacious rooms, and excellent food. Besides, nobody should miss having massages. They are a great experience. I will certainly go back."

"I had an amazing week with Yoga in Sardinia. Everything was absolutely perfect. The yoga and meditation classes with Alex were inspiring, relaxing, and wholesome. Alex is a great teacher. She was so friendly and caring towards everybody and really took the time if there was anything you wanted to ask, talk about, or practice some more. She's open about her own experiences in life and the way yoga and meditation helped her, which was especially inspiring for me. Furthermore, spending a week at the Galanias Hotel was fantastic. With beautiful surroundings, delicious food, and friendly staff, I couldn't ask for more!"

"My experience with the yoga and mindfulness retreat with Alex at the Galanias hotel was perfect and fantastic. From the first contact, Alex was very quick to respond and she hung in there through all the exchanges required. There were some glitches in the online payment setup that I hope get fixed, but all totally worth the extra effort. The retreat itself was just what I needed. The combination of yoga, mindfulness practice, pranayama, and yoga Nidra was phenomenal - yoga Nidra was new for me, and I love it. Alex herself is a person who walks her talk and has a lot of personal experience to back up what she offers, and plenty of humor, and openness along the way. For me, with back and hip issues, what we did was tailored to my needs, and at my level of yoga (beginner), I felt perfectly supported. I'm looking forward to implementing some of our practice into my day to day life. In addition to the above, the location is incredible! The pagoda where our work took place is so beautiful, and the view can't be beaten. Even in the heat of July-August, the breeze was perfect. And the Galanias Hotel - wow! Unbelievable food, really beautiful aesthetics, with incredibly friendly and charming staff. The walk to the beach is also easy (you will pass a fruit stand along the way) and the water is so clear - a perfect way to recharge your batteries and get rejuvenated and treat yourself to affordable luxury. I would definitely love to go again and recommend this without hesitation to people at my level (for more advanced levels, I don't know)."

"La retraite était magique, je remercie infiniment Alex pour ses beaux partages et pour ce qu'elle m'a fait découvrir, pour les jolies visualisations et la découverte du Yoga Nidra, pour sa bienveillance, ainsi que pour son aide dans la planification de mon voyage. La région est magnifique, et c'est tout autre chose de pouvoir faire les leçons de yoga sur la plage le matin. Le propriétaire du logement est également très sympathique et disponible. Je pense sérieusement à y retourner cet été."

"The whole experience was great, but if I had pick one it would be the mindfulness. I have never done it in group sessions (a group of five). It was very interesting to compare and get feedback off kindred spirits regarding how mindfulness meditation impacts us in our daily lives."
