Chalet Savoie Faire is a beautiful 1900s farmhouse in the tranquil village of Fontaine Naves, in the heart of the French Alps which has been transformed by Nikki and Hugh into a luxury and bespoke accommodation. The main house provides accommodation for up to eight people, with a beautiful open-plan living area, vaulted dining hall, and walled terrace with views across the valley. Luxury bathrooms with gorgeous toiletries, flat-screen televisions in every room, and a cozy open fireplace make it a perfect retreat.

One kilometer up the road, they have the beautiful Chez Milo which offers an additional two sole or twin occupancy double rooms for you to enjoy with their own living space and kitchen which is below the yoga barn. There are also a number of private apartments and a shared gite close by.

Program

Yoga In Nature is delighted to be collaborating with Nikki and Hugh at their stunning Chalet Savoie Faire to offer you a nourishing retreat in the heart of the magical French Alps surrounded by breathtaking views and lush forests as you transition from winter to spring. We will be adopting the principles of traditional Chinese medicine theory; expect meditations, daily Yin yoga with singing bowl therapy, reiki drumming, gong bath, breathwork, and a cacao ceremony offering you perspective and tools to continue your practice at home.

Yoga In Nature has prepared a beautiful nurturing retreat where you will work to harmonize your energetic, physical, emotional, and mental self with Yin yoga, sound healing, Reiki, breathwork, cacao, and using aspects of traditional Chinese medicine theory whilst nourishing you with life at altitude, delicious meals, an optional vegetarian cooking course and some deep, powerful, and transformational sessions. The intention is to leave you feeling rested, balanced, rejuvenated, inspired, and have some tools to take back home with you.

We will be tuning into the wood element whilst working with the liver and gall bladder organs and meridian pathways in order to improve energy (chi) stagnation and flow. According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory, working with the liver and gall bladder meridian pathways in advance of the spring season is the most optimal time to start to protect these channels as they are likely to weaken over the spring season.

When out of balance in the liver and gall bladder meridian channels, you are likely to experience symptoms such as (but not limited to) stress, headaches, neck or shoulder tension, repressed anger, frustration, irritability, resentment, indecisiveness, and physical issues linked to blood, menstruation, digestion, joint issues, muscular strength, and vitality. You will use techniques such as Yin yoga, acupressure, Qigong, sound therapy, and energy work to bring balance to these channels, improve energy (chi) flow, and prepare you for the transition to spring with tools for optimal health.

Yin yoga

Yin yoga is a slow and soft style of yoga that allows you to stress and nourish the deeper connective tissues such as ligaments, bones, and joints which are harder to target in more dynamic (yang) styles of yoga. There will be a specific focus on acupressure, the meridian pathway, and organ health to harmonize your energetic system and to bring balance physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. The practice will be accompanied by Nepalese singing bowls so that the sound and vibrations will enter your body at a cellular level to calm your body and mind and promote healing.

Sound healing

Sound healing helps the body generate a positive flow of energy and offers vibrations ion a cellular level into the body which stimulates the blood vessels, lymph, nerves, veins, and muscles to open up blockages and loosen tension in the body, relax the body, and release pain. Sound can help with stress, depression, insomnia, menstrual pain, ear problems, sinusitis, etc. and offer a sense of peace and calm. On retreat, you will experience a gong bath, singing bowl therapy, and Reiki drumming and you will have the opportunity to book a private treatment (extra charge).

Cacao

Ceremonial grade cacao has been used for centuries by the indigenous as a plant medicine for nutritional and healing purposes. Nutritionally, ceremonial grade cacao has 20 times more disease-fighting antioxidants than blueberries and offers magnesium, riboflavin along with essential fatty acids making it a huge help to lower cholesterol, improve heart function, and reduce the risk of cancer. It is also a mood enhancer through increasing dopamine and serotonin whilst also stimulating endorphins amongst other benefits which you will experience together in ceremony.
