A yoga holiday is a fantastic way to deepen and progress your yoga practice.This year Yoga-Glos has selected a very special venue indeed for your yoga retreat. The Barefoot Eco Resort is located within an almost untouched forest on the island of Hanimaadhoo in the Maldives. Here, the combination of yoga, sunshine, swimming, and good food is magical.
You will be accommodated in private, double or shared triple seaside rooms at the Barefoot Eco Hotel.The Seaside Rooms are affordable and comfortable accommodations, nicely furnished, with a modern and elegant double sink bathroom.
The rooms (44 square meters) have a wide patio door looking onto a cosy wooden veranda just beside the endless white beach. They are part of the same complex with a sandy inner courtyard. The rooms are ideal for groups and families wishing to share a unique experience or for team building vacations.
The resort organizes a daily complimentary snorkeling tour which is guided by the resident marine biologist. Bicycle hire is also complimentary, and bicycles are available for guest use from 09:00 to 19:00 daily.
There will be two yoga classes per day – a more active class in the morning and a restorative class in the evening which will be a mix of restful asanas and pranayama (deeply relaxing and rejuvenating breath work). Arrivals will be on the Saturday, November 26, 2016, and classes will commence with a restorative session on the Sunday, November 27, 2016 in the evening, to allow everyone to recover from their travels.
The last class will be on Friday, December 2, 2016,in the evening before departures the following day.
This retreat will take place in Hanimadhoo, the Republic of Maldives. The Barefoot Eco Hotel is located within an almost untouched forest on Hanimadhoo island in the preserved deep north of Maldives. This four star Eco Hotel is well connected to Male international airport by numerous daily 45 minutes flights.
Due to its luxuriant vegetation and privacy, everybody can fall in an untouched nature, living the genuine and natural Maldives with all modern accommodation facilities. A half mile private sandy beach and a turquoise lagoon frame the hotel.

Breakfast and your choice of lunch or dinner are included in the cost of your holiday (option to upgrade to full board available). Buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the main sea view restaurant. Guests can enjoy typical dishes of the Mediterranean cuisine as well as international and oriental dishes. A vegetarian corner is also available. The panoramic bar next to the main restaurant and the ice cream parlour looking directly out over the sea are ideal gathering places to sip soft drinks, fresh juices and healthy cocktails.
Pamper yourself at the spa where treatments are combined with a spiritual and meditative experience to achieve total well-being of body and mind. Antique furniture and décor, candle light, oriental music, and mysterious aromas are part of the unique experience. The massages (ayurvedic and classic) range from ease to tension and relaxation to energizing treatments or original Ayurvedic experiences. Beauty treatments will be tailored to your skin type. Treatment packages and couple massages spread over the duration of your stay can also be arranged.
You should book an international flight to Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (MLE) in Male.
The hotel will then arrange the local 45 minute transfer to the island of Hanimaadhoo and car pick up from the airport to the hotel. This local transfer is included in the cost of your holiday.
If you do not wish to spend a night in Male you should opt for a flight which arrives between 06:00 and 22:00, otherwise transfer will be the following day. (We can help with an overnight stay in Male if you need advice).

"A busy life results in wear and tear, and I was becoming increasingly concerned that this would eventually stop my outdoor activities. Following a bout of sciatica, I had been taking ibuprofen every night for around 20 years, just to get a good night's sleep. More recently, a recurrent problem with a trapped nerve in my neck resulted in loss of strength in my left arm and I needed regular visits to an osteopath to try and correct the problem. My partner persuaded me to try yoga and I attended my first class with Tamara in January 2014. I've been attending classes regularly since then. In a relatively short time I am convinced that as a result of Tamara's teaching, yoga has helped me in a number of ways. With no back pain, I am now able to sleep without the need for painkillers. I no longer suffer with a trapped nerve, so strength has returned to my arm and I can continue with rock climbing. My posture has improved so that I can once more enjoy mountaineering, a sport that I thought I would have to give up. I had a climbing trip to Scotland last winter and off for another next week. I'm now 67 years old and I think yoga is the best activity people of any age. It's never too late to start. Thank you Tamara."

"I've been taught by Tamara on and off for almost 5 years now, through pregnancy classes, general classes as well as her much valued support within another teacher's therapy class. Her teaching is excellent; clear, precise and easy to follow. She is knowledgeable but also very generous with her help to all her students in class. That doesn't mean her classes are easy though! Tamara has a great knack of working you and pushing you to excel, before bringing in restful poses exactly when they are needed. I would highly recommend her."
