River view casita

The river view casita has been built separately but along-side the retreat center. The casita has two private rooms, which are the tucn and the lapa rooms. The double rooms have a king size or twin beds depending on your needs. The rooms have a fan and screened windows. Each room has a private bathroom. The casita has an own veranda where you can see the jungle and river in front of you. You get to experience and observe the wildlife right from your chair.

Main lodge

There are three separate bedrooms in the main center, which are the mariposa, mono, and rana rooms. Two rooms have two single beds and a bunk bed. One room has a queen bed and a bunk bed. Each room can accommodate up to maximum of four people. There is a fan in each room, a screened door, and windows. The bedrooms each have easy access to ladies and gents bathrooms, which have one open wall to bring the exotic plant life.

As women living in a largely masculine world, many unknowingly minimize their own talents, gifts, and greatness. Women were taught that the world needs pretty, quiet women rather than strong, unabashed women. Women were taught to ignore their innate sensitivity and replace it with logic and reason. Women were taught to identify solely with appearances, rather than as powerful, inspiring, wise, and creative beings that can bring about global change. Women were taught to make themselves small when they were born to be great.

This retreat invites you to rise up alongside your sisters and have your unique voice be heard. Join the circle of women who dance with the fire in their souls, the wisdom in their eyes, the force of their bodies, and the power of their minds. Through yoga, meditation, and nature-based ritual and ceremony, you will explore each for yourselves what your femininity means, both individually and collectively.

With the support of a soulful community of sisterhood, you will celebrate your connections as you reject norms of "right" and "wrong", and wholeheartedly embrace what is true, authentic, and meaningful to each. You are the Sisters of the Moon.

Please note this workshop is for any person who identifies as a woman.

The moon has long been a beacon of the divine feminine. A symbol of goddesses, light, wisdom, intuition, and inner power. In modern society, however, this innate connection to all that the moon represents and to womens birthright is lost.

Each day the schedule will be slightly different, however every day will include yoga, meditation, guided ritual, ceremony, and exploration, as well as fresh meals and plenty of free time to enjoy Costa Rica in whatever way you choose.

The retreat begins with dinner on April 27 and concludes around noon on May 2.

Things to do (optional)

Horseback riding

Costa Ricans are real horse people. If you happen to be here when there is a horse fiesta called Tope in town, it is definitely worthwhile to experience. Going horseback riding in beautiful country side at Lake Arenal is something many travellers enjoy.

Hot springs

Because of the geothermal activity beneath the Arenal volcano, there are many hot springs in the area. After strenuous yoga, a rigorous sport session, weariness from travelling, or the stresses of life there is no better way to relax than to let these healing waters work miracles on you.

Rio Celeste

In the Tenerio Volcano National Park flows a beautiful blue-turquoise colored river called the Rio Celeste. The unusual and enchanting color has to do with a chemical reaction caused by a constant flow of minerals supplied by the volcano. Local legend says that when God painted the sky, he washed his blue brushes in this river. The hike through the jungle gives you a chance to see some wildlife on the way. The hike to an impressive waterfall is demanding but worth the trek. If you are not up for the hike, there is another location where you can have a swim in this magical blue river.

Volcano Arenal

The majestic and powerful volcano Arenal is one of Costa Ricas most revered attractions. A one-hour drive around the lake through idyllic small villages and gorgeous views is definitely worthwhile. The volcano was active for 43 years when dramatic effusions of smoke and lava could be seen. Now it has been in a resting phase since 2010. One way to experience the Arenal Volcano is from the Hanging Bridges. Not only do you get to see the volcano from close proximity but you also get magnificent views of the tropical jungle and abundant wildlife.

Wind and kite surfing at Lake Arenal

The high wind season from November through April makes Lake Arenal an ideal location for windsurfing and kite surfing. The retreat is only five minutes away from the launch site. After an exhilarating day in the waves, you will be tucked away from the wind in a comfortable setting in the midst of nature and wildlife in the Living Forest Center. Other activities on the lake include wake boarding, paddle boarding, fishing, and boating.

Zip lining or canopy tour

Zipping through the tropical rain forest high above the tree tops seeing wild life and fantastic views of the lake and volcano on the way, this is a winner as far as exciting adventures go. This is a highly recommend tour. The equipment is of the highest standards and you have well-experienced staff assisting you, which makes the tour safe and secure.

Spa treatments

Massages are available for an additional cost of 45 USD per hour. The benefits of this massage is to release tension in the muscles, release toxins from the body, and deep relaxations that calms the mind and de-stresses your whole being. Depending on the staff, there are a variety of beauty treatments, healing, and bodywork modalities available.
