In the last 10 years, Nosara has grown quietly into one of the hip holistic hot-spots in the world. This peaceful and vibrant international community of nature lovers, surfers, yogis, and families truly embraces the Pura Vida lifestyle.
The community resides along the coast with 3 unspoiled stunning beaches: Playa Guiones, Playa Pelada, and Playa Nosara with private houses, little hotels, and excellent restaurants hidden into lush tropical greenery. The residents of Nosara are committed to preserve their natural environment. The 3 beaches are protected as a turtle refuge, almost half of the land in the entire area is a protected forest and a moratorium on hunting animals for over 20 years.
The actual village and original settlement of Nosara is 4 miles inland, alongside the Rio Nosara. It’s a small traditional Costa Rican town with grocery stores, typical restaurants, churches, a disco, a soccer field, and the landing strip for daily flights to and from San Jose.
Costa Rica is a destination internationally renowned for its friendly and genuine people and spectacular nature. While it may seem remote, Costa Rica is easily accessible from the US and Canada and attracts more eco-friendly and holistically oriented tourism each year. Costa Rica occupies a territory of around 20,000 square miles in the southern part of Central America and includes several small islands mostly on the Pacific side.
The country is only about 200 miles long and 70 miles wide at the narrowest part with 2 long coastlines. Even though Costa Rica is a very small country and only accounts for about 0.25% of world’s landmass, it has almost 5% of the world’s biodiversity. Much of the country is set aside forever into protected national parks, wildlife refuges, and nature reserves.
Costa Rica has not only become known for its beauty and ecological tourism, but also as a country whose values reflect many of ideals embraced by those who are interested in world peace, environmental preservation, excellent education, and a high standard of health care. It is unique in Central America as it has the longest uninterrupted democracy, no standing army in more than 50 years, and a 95% literacy rate.
Costa Rica is at the forefront of environmental stewardship in Central America. It is committed to a major initiative to decrease its ecological footprint and become a leader in the “green” movement, as the effects of global warming are becoming more pronounced and the environmental status around the world is worsening daily. The government has placed global warming at the top of its national agenda and has already implemented an extremely successful forestation plan.
During this retreat, you will be served 3 daily healthy meals. All meals are served in the dining hall, starting with dinner on arrival day and breakfast on departure day. However, lunch will not be served on departure day. Complimentary early morning coffee and tea are available at 6.30 a.m. daily.

An additional way of satisfying special meal needs is the pure food option, which is part of the daily buffet style served at lunch and dinner that offers greens, grain, and legume (beans) without oils or seasoning. Also, Blue Spirit has a refrigerator in the dining hall that is accessible during meal times where guests can store any of their medication.
Spa and longevity services such as massages, bodywork, facial treatments, nutritional coaching, astrology, and many more are available upon request. You can book all sessions at the front desk. Payment can be made in cash or charged to the room when the services are scheduled.

"We want to say thank you for all that you did. I am sure it was a lot of work, but I hope it was worth it. We were truly blessed to have gotten to participate in this journey with you. We came back rejuvenated just like you said at the beginning. My mom came and picked us up at the airport and said we looked like two different people. We felt like that as well. Thank you Amy and everyone involve in this trip."
