You will stay at Hotel Casamar Suites, a collection of 15 uniquely designed apartments set in luscious gardens around the pool. Each apartment is independent with a full kitchen. Casamar provides a tranquil setting for connecting with family and friends and for relaxing and enjoying the chlorine-free pool. Complimentary Wi-Fi, parking lot, and air conditioning with an extra charge.
The retreat will take place in Puerto Escondido, a laid-back and sunny Pacific coast town in Mexico. The waves in Puerto are reputed as the best in the world because of their regularity and the smooth sandy ocean bottom.
Start your days with a meditation session followed by an energizing morning yoga practice and breakfast. The afternoon practice will focus on therapeutics and Yin yoga. With twice daily yoga and meditation, this retreat can be tailored with an add-on surf package including lessons and boards. A margarita and salsa cooking class is included.
Yoga Food Joy also offers nature adventures beyond the beach. Afternoon free time can be used to indulge in spa treatments and enjoy any of the many activities offered in the area.
From Huatulco, take the main highway 200. Turn right out of the airport onto highway 200, drive about one and half hours. The turn off is around 95 kilometers from the Huatulco airport. Please use the Google map on the map page to get the exact distances and locations by inputting your beginning and end points.
From the center of Puerto Escondido or the airport, take highway 200 towards Huatulco. Look for the signs on the right side of the road indicating Casamar. Turn right after the sign and follow the next sign to the hotel.
Please book your flight to arrive at Huatulco International Airport (HUX). Transfer from and to the airport is available upon request.
From Mexico City to Puerto Escondido, you can take Alta Mar and Turistar that leave Mexico terminals for a 10 to 12-hour trip. From Oaxaca, you can take ADO bus or minivans that will depart every 30 minutes. It is recommended to take the line to Puerto Escondido via Huatulco which is an 11-hour bus ride. The minivans that leave from Oaxaca City take eight hours and leave every 30 minutes.
At Huatulco airport, there are taxis available. You can save some money by walking out of the airport to the main road and taking a taxi from there.

Andrea is an alternate lifestyle lover, dedicated yogi, and mother. She lives on the south Pacific coast of Oaxaca. With the desire to guide yoga students to feel as good as she felt after classes, she began studying yoga seriously seven years ago building on a practice of 15 years. She graduated with 200-hour certification in Restorative Yoga and 300-hour certification in traditional Hatha and therapeutics-focused yoga. Having studied in Mexico and India, she believes that slowing the practice is essential in going deeper into the practice. Slow your practice and all will come.
Kine teaches Hatha yoga with a therapeutic perspective – focusing on relaxation before each movement: using the breath to let go, and then building on strength. She gives classes in therapeutic yoga, restorative yoga, yoga flow - all levels, and classic Hatha yoga. Kine has been studying yoga for more than 10 years and graduated as a yoga teacher (RYT 200) in 2008, and Critical Alignment® Therapist in 2010. She has also studied Therapeutic Yoga with Susi Hately. She is now certified E-RYT 500 by Yoga Alliance.
During the retreat, you will be provided daily breakfast and lunch included in the package. The meals are authentic Oaxacan cuisine using healthy and fresh ingredients. Vegan and vegetarian options always available as well as fresh Pacific tuna, mahi-mahi, snapper, and shrimp upon arrival.
There will be also snacks given without additional charge including fresh fruits, juices, smoothies, and energy snacks. Fresh coconuts from the trees, organic bananas, papaya, pineapple, guanabana, peanut butter, tahini, beans, chocolate, and coffee are used in our cuisine.

During your free time, there are many outdoor activities you may find interesting to try. At an additional cost, you can arrange these following excursions to your add-on package.
Enjoy a horseback ride to hot springs. You can wander through the river and rural landscape and
relax in the hot sulfurous waters.
You can observe birds, crocodiles, their mangrove habitat, and the magic of the bioluminescence.
Discover the backcountry and shade-grown coffee plantations.
Take surfing lesson add-on to your package. It will include three lessons surfing, transportation to the beach, board, and lycra.
If you are into hiking, you can try this challenging hiking to cross picturesque streams, climb boulders, swim, and play in clear, freshwater pools.
