"Carefully chosen, well researched resorts in special locations of stunning natural beauty with nourishing delicious food, comfortable beds, and unique surrounds guaranteed - all of which complement and enhance the benefits of practicing some really, really great yoga. Having stumbled across the Yoga Explorers website by chance in 2013, I took the plunge to go to Goa, India. I was hugely excited but, not yet having taken many steps into the yoga world, also felt quite daunted at the prospect of a yoga holiday with a group of strangers. I needn't have. "

"Jim Tarran is a learned, dedicated, passionate, authentic teacher and practitioner of yoga bringing his light hearted humor and decades of teaching experience to his classes making yoga incredibly attainable to all. Encompassing meditation, mantra, pranayama, and yoga Nidra as well as asana practice. Jim imparts yoga philosophy and anatomical knowledge, encouraging investigation into poses, so giving his students confidence to fully trust in him and, as importantly, in themselves to directly experience the true value and purpose of yoga. Jim's classes very soon have an opening effect - physically, emotionally, and mentally. I was taken on a personal journey which I couldn’t before have imagined. "

"I was quickly immersed into nature in the incredible setting of yoga magic and fell into a friendly, inspiring group of people, young and old, from yoga novices to the more experienced. In December 2015, I was lucky enough to return to enjoy it all once again! A Yoga Explorers holiday will be restful and relaxing, fun, friendly, nurturing, inspiring...and in my own experience, completely life affirming and changing. "

"A retreat is only as good as its teacher, and Jim is absolutely the best I know. He runs his own yoga school (Vajrasati, based in Brighton), but spends part of each year hosting international retreats, often with partner Khadine Morcom. Tigmi near Marrakech welcomes newbies and old hands alike; there are two yoga sessions a day, with the rest of the time spent sampling delicious local food, shopping in the souks or lounging by the idyllic pool with a view over the Atlas foothills. For a little luxury and a lot of genuinely life-changing yoga practice, its the real deal!"

"I've just come back from an amazing week in Tigmi in Morocco - beautiful place, beautiful and really fun people, gorgeous food and super yoga. Simply gorgeous! I went on my own, slightly nervy at first thinking my yoga might not be up to scratch but we were mixed levels and Selima, our lovely teacher worked with everyone making us progress but never feeling intimidated. Plus, everyone in our group was so supportive and fun. I feel like my understanding and practise of yoga has really improved. I now want to do a yoga retreat every year. Thank you Yoga Explorers, so lovely to meet you Jo and thank you - you are awesome, I haven't met Jim yet, but I will be booking again."

"I am very new to yoga and have never been on a yoga holiday before. I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, it was a really fulfilling experience in every way. The location was gorgeous, Jo and Jim from Yoga Explorers were lovely and the rest of my fellow travellers were a extremely nice bunch. Many had been on several yoga holidays together before, but rather than be exclusive, they made me feel at home and part of the group. That also applied to the yoga itself. Despite my complete inexperience, Jim made me feel good about my limited progress. The whole experience was paradoxically extremely relaxing but also stretched me (and not just physically!). It was a great week."

"The yoga retreat at Locando del Gallo was excellent! I enjoyed very much meeting Jim and Jo and many new friends. The teachings and beautiful sanskrit chanting was truly inspiring. I learned a lot during the course of the week. The family that run the villa are absolutely down to earth but incredible eye for detail and comfort, making this a true 5-star experience."

"The yoga and pilates retreat in Baja California/Mexico was my fist retreat with Yoga Explorers. It was a perfect mixture. Wonderful yoga and pilates lessons at a beautiful place. From the exercise room you could see the whales passing by while practicing. Everything was well organized, thanks for that! And Jim and Paul's teachings are attentive, inspiring, humorous. I cant recommend enough."

In short it's hard not to become addicted to Yoga Explorers holidays."

"I am finding it hard to explain my experiences on the recent 10 day Yoga Explorers retreat in Goa, because it was so incredibly amazing on so many different levels. I flew in to Goa and as promised was picked up by a friendly taxi driver who was waiting for me. The whole holiday experience carried on in the same relaxed and nourishing environment. I am an experienced chiropractor and was a bit of a yoga sceptic, sent by my family to de-stress.The resort is very peaceful, with very attentive and caring staff, and the food served at breakfast and supper was light, clean and stunningly well cooked. I have eaten in many high-end restaurants but very few have delivered the flavours and quality of ingredients of Yogamagic. I did not miss meat at all.The yoga with Jim was achievable, varied and gently progressive. By the second day I was looking forward to each class! I also started to understand what yoga was all about. It was described by Jim as a link, and by the time I regretfully left I had linked my mind and body together using breathing techniques and peace from my heart. In fact I was so excited that my old self had got back in touch with me that I could hardly eat on the third day! I have come away a very different man and a much more happy and relaxed person. I have also come away as a convert and very keen to continue my journey into yoga.I am forever indebted to Jim and Jo for their humble, happy and healthy introduction into yoga. I feel at least 10 years younger! If you want to find peace in your mind and body you must book onto one of their retreats."

"My first trip with Yoga Explorers was to Marrakech 4 years ago and since then I have returned to Locanda del Gallo in Umbria (twice), Mexico and then to Goa. What I know is that the retreats will be in a beautiful location, the food will be wonderful and I'm sure to meet really lovely people. The yoga with Jim is unlike any other I've practised. Some people can approach with an amount of trepidation but Jim's yoga is welcoming, light-hearted yet intense, gentle, calming, strengthening and uplifting. I am always so excited and happy the first day as I know just how wonderful I'm going to feel by the end of trip which is why I love to go away with them time and time again. I cannot recommend Yoga Explorers trips too highly. Go and you will see what we're all talking about."

"I decided to do the trip to Yoga Explorers - Goa December 2015 on the recommendation of a friend who had previously been to the same place in December 2013. Very apprehensive and nervous, firstly as I was going alone and secondly I had never ever attempted yoga in my life. I'd had many years of family and friends suggesting I take yoga up but with a busy life never got round to doing this. Words really cannot explain or describe my experience of the 10 days I had at the retreat. The yoga with Jim Tarran was for me a break through in not only unlocking my body in the gentlest and also challenging way but allowing me also to unlock years of emotional and stressful baggage by learning breathing and meditation techniques. The staff are the most amazing people I have ever met going out of their way to make me and each person welcome from the time we arrived to the day we sadly left.I was told the food matched five-star cuisine and they were absolutely spot on, with healthy and delicious food being served every day, for me the breakfasts were out of this world and I have tried to replicate them since being home. I did not miss meat, fish or alcohol the whole time I was at the retreat. The experience has changed my life and is one I will never forget. Go on go for it, I guarantee you will not be disappointed."
