Enjoy a wonderful yoga retreat at the magical Molino del Rey, located in Andalusia's beautiful nature reserve "Sierra de las Nieves" in southern Spain! You will be surrounded by mountains, waterfalls and beautiful gardens. The rooms are beautiful and you will wake up refreshed every morning. There are 7 wonderful days planned for you. Molino del Rey has been known for years as a center of excellence in Spain and the world. The entire venue including outside areas is smoke-free. All rooms are en-suite, with warm-cold air-conditioning, ceiling fans, comfortable beds, electric mattresses, hairdryers, kettles, and safes. The rooms are beautifully prepared for your arrival, but there is no room service, so for instance, bed linen, towels, etc. are not renewed during your stay. Pool towels included.
It is important to be aware that from an administrative point of view, this is a private property that Yoga Evita is renting and not a hotel. The yoga shala with its five meters high ceiling and meditation area gives you a deeper dimension during the practice. In addition, Molino del Rey is surrounded by waterfalls and lots of flowers and plants. In fact, the whole venue is very tastefully designed. To enjoy the stunning and varied nature, you are strongly recommended to try walking. All seasons have their individual beauty. Enjoy everything that is on offer.
Molino del Rey has a maximum capacity of 20 guest beds. The place is facilitated with an en-suite, luxury accommodation, balconies, warm-cold air-conditioning, superbly comfortable beds, ceiling fans, tea-making facilities, safes, hairdryers, alarm clocks, electric blinds, etc.
There are four rooms all with balconies.
There are one superior twin room with an extra sitting area and one king suite with an extra glass conservatory SAT/TV/DVD, electric adjustable beds, etc.
There is one separate teacher’s single room (free of charge on minimum booking, otherwise a single supplement applies).
There are a twin dome and single cabin as overflow accommodation with a shared bathroom three steps outside. This brings the total to 22 beds.
The magical grotto pool is equipped with an automatic seawater system and contains no chlorine.
There will be a night during the retreat where you can enjoy the sauna.
The studio is 100 square meters with wooden parquet flooring and occupies an extraordinary position, hand-cut out of the mountain, floor to ceiling windows with views across the valley, and a door leading into the inner stillness of the caves. The latter serve as natural air conditioning in hot summer months. Underfloor central heating is available for the winter months. The studio has incredible acoustics for working with sound and is fully equipped with yoga props and training materials.
Besides the lovely yoga studio, there is also an approximately 60 meters square teak decking area, for enjoying yoga, etc. outdoors. During the summer months, the wooden gazebo serves as a second Thai and Chavutti massage room.
Molino del Rey is extremely fortunate in having personal caves, particularly appreciated by meditation groups and for chanting, overtone, didgeridoo, etc. In fact, the whole mountain is honeycombed with caves and many have been explored by the more adventurous guests.
For anyone who is looking for total peace of body and mind. You will practice yoga two or three times per day, a minimum of four hours in total.
In the morning, there is a soft practice with a focus on breathing and stretching then a more physical session in the afternoon or Kundalini yoga. You will spend the evenings together singing, laughing, meditating, and there will be several surprises. There will be opportunities to walk every day, together in a group or whatever suits. Bring comfortable shoes. Trainers are suitable.
Welcome to the center from 3 pm on Saturday. You will gather at 6 pm for dinner. Please arrive on time. Check-out is Saturday morning, latest by 10 am. Please do not have a flight home before 2 pm, if possible.
Yoga lubricates the body through physical positions. This allows the muscles and joints to move flexibly, strengthens the internal organs, and stimulates circulation in the body without causing tiredness. The body finds complete relaxation in these asanas, i.e., body positions, while the so-called pranayamas or breathing exercises increase prana or inner energy.
Finally, you have meditation to calm the senses. Through yoga, you can learn to control physical pain and with the help of breathing, mental pain, and then with meditation, you gain an insight into who you are. Yoga starts with the body but ends by rising above it.
Prana is the life force that enters the body with the breath and which is metabolized from the foods you eat. Breathing exercises improve the ability of the body to metabolize prana. Also, since breathing affects emotions, breathwork helps to regulate and refine the emotional sheath. Finally, breathing also represents a bridge between those physiological functions which is believed you can control (voluntary) and those which you cannot (involuntary). Adept yogis claim to be able to control metabolism, reflex, and brainwave activity, events slow, or virtually stop the heartbeat.
If you have been considering starting a practice, you are not alone. Many are turning to yoga as part of a healthy lifestyle. It helps to have a basic understanding of what to expect, so you can focus on what is going on in the class and with your body. Here are six tips to help you not only survive, but thrive in your first yoga class and after, for the rest of your life.
No matter where you are, there is a yoga practice that is right for you. Yoga does not care if you are tall or short, heavy or slim, and young or old. Yoga helps you to deeply explore yourselves, no matter where you are. Remembering this on the mat can help you to let go of self-judgment and begin to soften into each moment. Normally, you keep your eyes closed.
There are many different styles of yoga, so look for one that will meet your specific needs. Word of mouth is another way to find out, so ask your friends or people you meet at the class.
Once you have settled on a class, arriving at least 15 minutes early will allow you to meet the teacher and inform about yourself and what you are hoping to accomplish by starting a yoga practice. As a regular, it also allows you to get your space and start to relax and prepare for the class.
If you are digesting a meal, your body will be using energy that could otherwise be focused on your practice. Also, twisting and bending do not feel great with a full stomach. If possible, you may wait about two hours after a meal and one hour after a light snack. Please make sure you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Yoga is about self-acceptance and meeting yourself where you are with love and compassion. The slower you move, the faster you progress. To begin with, finding your edge in each pose and continually staying with it as you breathe and respect where you are will allow you to move forward over time.
You may choose to go into your practice with an open heart and mind. Do not judge the practice. You need to commit and keep going. During her first yoga class, Eva knew that something fundamentally right was happening. She does not understand what it was but she knew she was where she needed to be. You deserve to connect and to communicate deeply with your body. You deserve to strengthen inside and out and most of all, you deserve to change all that is not serving you in your life.
Yoga informs you about yourselves. The more you practice, the more information you will receive as you begin to watch, connect, and engage at deeper levels. It is through that connection and engagement that you can begin to transform your bodies, your minds, and your world, one practice at a time. You just keep it up and keep doing it.
After Evita had a terrible traffic accident, she found yoga that saved her life. With this incredible journey and experience of how you can self-heal with the techniques of yoga, she now is a teacher to guide more people to a better life. She always sees a possibility for everybody to develop and grow in many levels in life, not only physically but also mentally. She believes that with the help of yoga, people can let go of fears and pains, find the inner strength and joy, and find a harmony with what is happening in everyday life.
