The whole science and mechanism of yoga is based on how to transform the unconscious pattern of your life into a conscious pattern. Accordingly, the ancient and contemporary yogis have designed numerous techniques and tools to bring more alertness and awareness into your life. These yoga techniques can be divided broadly into two categories: one type practices which start with awareness and culminate with deep relaxation, and another type of practices that start with deep relaxation and end with deep awareness.
Yoga Nidra is one of the higher yogic practices that start with relaxation to release deep-rooted stress and strain of body-mind, bring out a deep sense of rejuvenation, induce healing at the physical, mental, and emotional level, and enhance the balance and harmony of body-mind-emotion for experiencing a higher state of consciousness. Hence, yoga Nidra practice has a unique status in the path of yoga and is a much-seeking practice among yoga lovers, practitioners, and teachers.

Yoga Nidra is one of the powerful tools in the field of yoga and very useful practice in your daily life. It brings an incredible relaxation, calmness, quietness, and clarity to your life. It is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Yoga Nidra is one of the practices of pratyahara where the awareness is internalized and has its origin in the ancient tantric practice called Nyasa.
Literally, yoga Nidra means 'psychic sleep' such as sleep with a trace awareness. In the practice of yoga Nidra, the body falls asleep, the subconscious and unconscious mind remain open and awake to listen to the instructions. In psychology, the state achieved in yoga Nidra is termed the 'hypnogogic state', a state between sleep and wakefulness. In this threshold state between sleep and wakefulness, contact with the subconscious and unconscious dimensions occur easily and spontaneously.
Yoga Nidra is a state of conscious deep sleep that gives deep rest and relaxation to both body-mind. The state of yoga Nidra removes fatigue and tensions, brings a sense of deep rejuvenation, and restores the elasticity of body-mind. It is also used by yogis to purify the samskaras, the deep impressions that are the driving force behind your habitual pattern of living.
However, in meditation, you remain in the waking state of consciousness, able to be aware and watch your thought processes, emotions, and body sensations in an equanimous attitude. Meditation helps to expand your awareness to unconscious and subconscious state. Yoga Nidra is a systematic method for developing inner awareness. Thus, it is a doorway to the meditative state.
During the course, the participants will get the opportunity to visit and meditate in nearby sacred place, on the bank of river Ganga, cave, mountain, and nature to experience the true yogic energy field and vibration of Rishikesh under the instructions and guidance of the teacher.
