Yoga Essence's venue has a garden and is surrounded from all sides by many huge lush green trees with beautiful Himalayan mountain view. Each room features an en-suite bathroom with western toilet and shower with hot / cold water, and AC (at an extra price in loco).

  • 07:00-08:45 Ashtanga Mysore style and pranayama practice
  • 11:40-13:00 Meditation session 1 (contemporary / active techniques)
  • 15:45-17:00 Meditation session 2 (classical / traditional techniques)
  • 17:00-18:15 Asana practice (alignments)
  • 18:15-19:00 Yoga Nidra / mantra chanting session
  • 20:30-21:30 Night meditation session (only on selected days

Swami Dhyan Samarth
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Yoga)
Swami Dhyan Samarth is an experienced yoga and meditation teacher having many years of practice and teaching experience. He integrates yoga and meditation with a contemporary scientific approach and core insights from various spiritual paths into his teaching. His teaching mainly focuses on the experiential aspect of yoga and transformation of life. Samarth helps his students to get the knack of yoga and encourage them to explore and experience the whole spectrum of yoga along with its implementation into everyday life.
Francesca Chiodi
Yoga Alliance RYT 500 (Yoga)
Francesca is a registered Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga teacher (RYT 500), constantly practicing and studying yoga and meditation. She loves the physical aspect of yoga but she believes you have to go beyond it to find stillness and awareness not only on the mat but in the whole life journey. With a working sports background and specialization in Shiatsu, Francesca has been full-time alternative health care practitioner for many years before totally dedicate herself to yoga. Merging the power of the Ashtanga Vinyasa style with the precision of the Iyengar alignments and the awareness of breath, she creates a perfect fusion of body, mind, and spirit in her classes.
Amritesh Prasad
Yoga Alliance RYT 200 (Yoga)
Amritesh is a uniquely inspiring and experienced yoga teacher. His teaching mainly focuses on the connection of body-breath-mind and the subtle effects of yoga on them. He encourages students to be open to all aspects of yoga. His relaxed style of teaching is soothing and uplifting. He takes good care to provide a welcoming and light-hearted environment in his classes where students can feel comfortable in learning along with experiencing the essence of yoga. He is also very passionate to share his experiences and practices of yoga to students.

Retreat location

Yoga Essence is in a quiet, clean and safe resort, located ten minutes walking to the main touristic area of Rishikesh but still served from local shops, cafes and organic stores. Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, is a popular place to come and meditate, do yoga, and learn about other aspects of rich yogic culture. It’s situated on the banks of the Ganges River, surrounded by hills on three sides.

Rishikesh lures those seeking knowledge and peace with its numerous ashrams, yoga institutes, ancient and new temples, meditation caves, and samadhi places of yogis (temples of a final resting place of yogis after death). It's particularly popular with spiritual seeking foreigners. The evening Ganga Aarti holds a special appeal.

How to get there

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). From there, you can book a domestic flight to arrive at Dehradun Airport (DED). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request.

Alternatively, upon arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) or Dehradun Airport (DED), you can hire a taxi. Rishikesh is a six-hour drive away from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL). Known taxi is available on request.

Arrival by bus

You can also opt for Volvo service from Delhi, however, traveling by bus could cause inconvenience for the first time travelers.

Arrival by train

You can take a train to Haridwar from New Delhi Railway Station. From Haridwar, there are many transport facilities available to reach Rishikesh. Transfer from and to this train station is available upon request.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 15% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.
