Hiking Cruise and Yoga Holiday Turkey

Expert tip: This is one of the most popular yoga retreats offered in Turkey.

Yoga Cruise Turkey is happy to invite you for a relaxing and rejuvenating week of yoga and hiking in the picturesque Gocek Bay, dotted with countless unspoiled islands, luscious with pine and olive trees. Take a dive into the crystal clear waters and swim with sea turtles. Take the opportunity to explore the archaeological ruins scattered around the islands with Angi - your resident yoga teacher. Share a cup of tea and a good story with some of the very few locals still living on the islands.

The yoga will be held on a floating home, the ''Seaborn Legend'', a 27 meters long wooden gullet, with 6 en suite cabins, two sunny decks, an indoor, and outdoor dining area and the friendliest crew in the Aegean.

You will spend eight days gliding through the turquoise waters, breathing in the smell of the sea and pine trees, and enjoying the benefits of daily yoga practices. You start and finish your days with an hour long yoga practice on the sunny deck of our boat.

The yoga classes

The morning classes are Hatha yoga classes, with focus on Hatha, relaxation, and proper alignment with a specific topic in mind such as back bending, breath awareness, balancing, etc. Each class will be organized as a small workshop designed to deepen your understanding of different aspects of asana practice. The classes are suitable both for experienced practitioners and for beginners - the former will develop their practice further and discover new ways in which they can approach it, while the latter will have the opportunity to learn the basics and have a kick start on their yogic journey.

In the afternoon classes, you will have a more gentle restorative practice followed by a half hour long guided meditation. Although yoga postures are taught in these classes as well, the focus is on the breath, conscious movement, deep relaxation (yoga Nidra - yogic sleep), and meditation.

Daily life on board

After the morning yoga and a delicious traditional Turkish breakfast, you will set sails for the next exciting undiscovered bay, where you can swim, snorkel, paddle a canoe boat, or just savor the sun and the view until lunch time. After lunch, you will move to a new place, where you will go for a two or three hours long hiking, exploring archaeological ruins, visiting a local family, or taking in unspoiled nature. The hikes will usually lead to the top of an island, providing you with a great spot to admire the colors of the sunsets and the surrounding nature. Depending on the terrain and weather conditions, you might decide to have the evening yoga or meditation class on land. In the evenings, you will enjoy yet another freshly prepared meal on the boat under the stars.

Included excursions

Apart from some of the clearest waters that you will find in the Mediterranean, sea turtles and dolphins that you will be seeing on the way, and the unspoiled nature all around us, these are some of the places of interest that you will visit on your hikes:

St. Nicholas Island

Apart from its scattered Byzantine ruins, it also features a somewhat flattened top - the perfect spot for your evening yoga and meditation practice.

Kayaköy is a ghost town which until the 1960s was populated by Greeks. The area is now alive with plenty of artistic workshops and small cafes.

Kapudag Peninsula

You will have a chance to visit the only inhabitant of Kapda Peninsula, share a cup of tea and a cup of conversation with him, and explore the ancient ruins in his backyard. You will also visit the ancient Lycian rock-carved tombs.

Cleopatras Bath

Half-sunken remains of a Roman Bath, popularly known as Cleopatras Bath - a wonderful introduction to underwater archaeology.

Ag Limani Peninsula

It is famous with its wealth of archaeological ruins from Lycians, Romans, and Ottomans. You will visit one of the very few nomadic families still living here. Besides, there are still many other hidden peaks and coves, which are so small and obscure that they dont even have an official name, but they will still blow you away with their beauty.
