Julie invites you on a retreat for you, where the body is allowed, surrender into deep rest encouraged and a rediscovery of your body’s natural wisdom cultivated. Inviting you to reconnect to your inherent clarity, strength, and vitality as you dive into Autumn.

A yoga and meditation practice suitable for all, with or without previous experience of yoga.

This yoga invites you to a deep listening of the body, an awakening of the spine through playful exploration of our body through the asanas, through breathing, meditation and simply arriving into a sense of wholeness. Cultivating freedom, strength, and flexibility of body and mind in movement.

A space to connect with you this autumn. An opportunity to sit and listen with your heart at whatever point you are in your life all within the community of the group.

A space to disconnect and reconnect. L'Hort de la Riera offers elegant shared and private rooms with own bathrooms, with heating for winter and air conditioning for the summer heat. The house offers many outside spaces to hang out and chill out! Hammocks, garden areas, terraces with stunning views and the swimming pool. It combines a rustic design with modern elements creating beautiful and comfortable environments. It has a beautiful sala for yoga and meditation.

L'Hort de la Riera is nestled in the heart of Montserrat with inspiring nature at hand. You can go on walks to the rivers and natural pools for bathing or take a hike through the valleys and forests surrounding - 50 minutes

Program

The daily program

Julie will offer two yoga sessions each day from the Saturday morning. An early morning 8 - 10 am and evening 6 - 8pm. On the arrival day Friday there will be one session, we will practice from 7 - 8.30 pm.

The yoga sessions will begin with a gentle invitation to open up the body and then gently explore and deepen into different postures, breath and meditation through the weekend. The yoga will be suitable for all. Experienced and those new to yoga.

There will then be a time in the day to enjoy free time, immersed in the inspiring natural surroundings, you might rest, go for a walk in the valleys and forests. On Saturday there will be an option to put on our hiking shoes, take a picnic lunch and walk as a group and enjoy a meditation together.

The evening yoga session on Friday and Saturday will be a more restorative practice and the afternoon session on Sunday a gentle closing practice.

There will be one period of silence between Friday evening and Saturday morning to support each other in arrival and to begin the invitation to be with our heart, in gentle mindfulness.

Included excursions

On Saturday there will be an opportunity to put on your hiking shoes and take a walk to the river and through the forested valleys around with stunning views of Monsterrat. With contemplative meditation along the way.

Julie Tucker
Julie has been teaching yoga since 2007 mostly to small groups, one to one, retreats and workshops. She is inspired by the work of Vanda Scaravelli and her work as a biodynamic craniosacral practitioner. She offers yoga as a gift to yourself, a place to come back to the heart, a letting go of the mechanics of posture and encouraging a deep listening. A space of allowing that frees the breath awakens the spine, reconnects us to ground. Finding deeper levels of awareness where the body can open, freedom of movement express itself and our inherent health, vitality, and wholeness rekindle itself.

Retreat location

The retreat will be held at Arcadia, near Girona, Catalonia, Spain. Arcadia is a beautifully and lovingly renovated traditional Catalan farmhouse. Situated among the forest of in the beautiful valley del Biert, by Banyoles Lake north of Girona.

Arcadia is only 20 minutes by road from Girona and Girona airport, making it easily accessible. Barcelona El Prat airport is also 50 minutes away and well served by flights from all main European cities. From the UK, Gatwick, Bristol, Stansted, Luton and Southend airports all have regular and economic direct flights to Barcelona El Prat.

From Barcelona, trains run regularly to Girona train station from where you can be picked up by Arcadia staff to take the short 25-minute drive to the center.

Delicious organic and locally sourced vegetarian and vegan dishes are a specialty at L'Hort de la Riera. Made with love and inspiration and often using produce from their own organic vegetable garden.

Julie will be offering craniosacral treatments. Reiki and Anti Stress massage will be on offer by resident practitioners for an extra cost.

How to get there

Arrival by train

Arrive by train from Barcelona to Manresa train station from where a pick up by the retreat center 20 minutes away can be arranged for you in advance for a small charge.

Arrival by airplane

Fly into Barcelona El Prat and take the train to Manresa and arrange a pickup. Contact the retreat organizer on making your booking and see if there are others driving or being picked up from the airport and share the car journey of 55 minutes to the retreat center together.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 100% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 21 days before the arrival date.
