Julie is a Scaravelli-inspired yoga teacher offering an approach to yoga that awakens the spine to find freedom of movement. Her classes also acknowledge the meditation of yoga.

Julie Tucker

Julie is deeply inspired by the work of the late Vanda Scaravelli and teachers of her work, including John Stirk, Diane Long, and Liz Warrington, who work with the relationship between the spine, the breathe, gravity, and space to find freedom of movement and health in the body and mind. Julie's work and classes also acknowledge the meditation of yoga and include meditation practice.

Liz Warrington

Liz has done her two-year Biodynamic Craniosacral training at the Karuna Institute in Devon. She has been teaching yoga since 1995, often with small groups or on a one-to-one basis. A personal journey into Vipassana Meditation over the years has shown her the gifts of stillness and silence.

The yoga was Scaravelli style which involves a gentle introduction to moving into postures with breath and emphasis on working with the spine. Unfolding and listening to body, breath and awareness is essential to this practice. Julie Tucker is a very good teacher and is very focused and aware of holding a group. She was able to give instructions in Engish and Spanish with a gentleness and clear articulation.

I had an amazing time and felt truly nourished on all levels. The simplicity of being in nature, eating good vegetarian food, and having yoga twice a day was very fullfilling. Having access to the pool at any time was a welcomed bonus as it was very hot for June. I had a magical time and departed feeling very calm, still and contented.

Yes I would definitely go again, it had everything I needed to support me in working with body breath and diet. After one day the stress from daily life just dropped away and I was able to truly be in the moment with my practice. It was good value for money too. I would also recommend it to friends.

Julie´s Spring Yoga and Meditation weekend retreat was a joy - her measured, knowledgeable and confident teaching was so beneficial (even to me, a ´beginner´). I have taken much new awareness and learning away from the experience, especially a deeper understanding of the ´meaning´ and benefits of breathing mindfully. The choice of venue, Arcadia, was perfect - a beautiful place within which to ´retreat´, though I would recast that as ´enter´ into a space which perfectly complemented the nature of the course.
