Join Yvonne Martin, a qualified yoga teacher, for a relaxing yoga retreat in Curaçao. Yoga has a soothing effect and strengthens the mind. The body experiences breathing and consciousness differently after doing yoga. In combination with breathing, the yoga posture works on the consciousness level and the human equilibrium.
There is a maximum for four persons to stay at the yoga center. You can share a room with bathroom or make a reservation for a single room.
Exercise based on body postures leads to a deep relaxation of the body that in turn ensures a greater degree of awareness of one's body. Yoga is also a spiritual journey that gives people the space to discover their own possibilities in a way that is best suited to them.
Meditation places the body and mind in a state of deep tranquility. During meditation, breathing becomes calmer and as a result the level of lactic acid in the blood reduces. This provides greater stability of the autonomic nervous system and lowers tension.
Breathing therapy is a combination of breathing and yoga postures. In order to assist you during treatment, breathing is carefully observed and advice is offered on different ways to improve your breathing.
During this holiday you will enjoy hiking tours and walking meditation sessions.
Yvonne Martin graduated for the Higher Education for Human Resource Management in 1993. Before starting this study, she has worked in different segments within the healthcare since the mid 70's. Yvonne did mediation work in three important sectors of the labor market, services and care industry, and government.
Curaçao is the ideal holiday island for a good rest, not only by the sea. There are many areas with no one in sight. Stay for a while at the Yoga Centrum Curaçao to relax. Curaçao is the largest island of the Netherlands Antilles and is one of the most important Caribbean islands. The island is 61 kilometers long between its two furthest points and between five and 14 kilometers wide.
You will be served three vegetarian meals a day. Tea, coffee, and water are available throughout the retreat. There are also good restaurants nearby.
At the urgent request of the National Parks of the Netherlands Antilles Foundation, the island government purchased the former Savonet, Zorgvlied, Knip, and Zevenbergen plantations in the late 1960's. These four plantations were merged, now forming Christoffel Park, with adjoining Knip hills. Nature lovers won’t believe their eyes. You can drive through Christoffel Park, up to the foot of Mt. Christoffel.
For those whose cars are not in great shape, no need to worry. If the car can’t make it up the hill, there’s a jeep available daily to haul your car out of the park.
The many land houses comprise one of the important, if not the most important, architectural heritage of the island. Curaçao’s land houses played an important role in the island’s history and are unique. Examples of landhouses include Landhuis Brievengat, Landhuis Daniel, Dokterstuin, Jan Kock, Zeelandia, Chocolobo, Papaya, Groot Santa Martha, Rooi Catootje, Savonet, and Knip. Most of the land houses can be toured, an appointment may be required.
